      I think the main thing for him is getting the backhand side more trustable. Doesn’t need to know how to hit well open stance, in the run, taking time way, dealing with fast balls or whatever, but it needs to be consistent when he is well positioned. He is missing a lot of easy backhands, it brings a lot of mental pressure on yourself (I was playing like that for the last six months, its horrible). If he can trust more in his backhand, he will be able to let the forehand fly and be more agreesive (his forehand can be massive).

      Well I go to our local challenger even in Cordenons every year, guess US is different because every american gets surprised and treats them like gods, here there are people in my category (3.2/3.3 FIT which would be your 5.0) which can win games off numbers 800/1000 in the world, yes they’re good, but the level is quite high in general.

    Felix great vid as always, just wanted to give you a tip I now its really hard being a tennis player and you always try your best but something that is quite apparent is that a lot of your balls are landing in the service box so you aren't always damaging you opponent that much so rallies tend to extend a lot, when you do play deep you tend to win those point so maybe just try to hit it a bit deeper, hope it helps

    • @7RocketRonaldo17
      @7RocketRonaldo17 21 день назад

      I get your point 100%
      Ofcourse his balls arent as deep, its not always about playing deep, (ofcourse it helps)
      I think its more of a thing that he was dealing with the heavy topspin balls from Photos also.
      always playing that +1 ball. It was a case of who wanted it more/who could give more
      But to concider the physical toll on the body in those kinda matches in these weather conditions.
      Felix isnt a small guy, he can take the balls earlier. But that brings alot more risk for errors (workpoint)
      & giving away free points isnt just something you want te do in those matches.
      i'm 5'2 not a tall guy, im nowhere near the level Felix's at.
      I can keep the ball deep. but only for an amount of time before my body starts telling me; "dude, conserve your shots" but yeah thats only me😅

    One thing I notice, as someone who also plays with a Dunlop racquet (cx 200 18x20), is that it can be very challenging to create power with the racquet and its relatively low balance point. Of course, control is good but adding weight to the end of your racquet (you can look up a tutorial on RUclips) would allow you to get so much more power out of your swings, considering that your form is excellent. I notice that there doesn't seem to be as much racquet lag on your swings compared to other professionals, which can be attributed to your racquet (assuming you are using the cx200 or 18x20 version) having a low balance point and therefor a lower swing weight. This could be fixed by adding more weight to the racquet at 9 and 3 oclock. Just something to look into, wishing you good luck on your tennis journey Felix.

    Felix, your level is hovering just under utr 12.5, and declining slowly. You have a very physical element to your game, and I think your movement is great. Something is clearly not working in your game, and I would venture it is more strategic (shot selection). I notice you don't have a coach. Why not invest in that, get some high level help, and help you to play better strategically. If you continue doing what you're doing, you run the risk of putting in a lot of effort in low level tournaments, and even if you do well, they dont provide a lot of points. Its a lot of work, for minimal gain, and thats IF it pans out.
    Why don't you have a chat with Esteban Carril? He took Jo Konta from triple digits to #4 in the world. Last I heard, he was based in northern Spain, which is very close to you guys in the southern UK.
