Mr. Schelin, I really enjoy your videos and envy your knowledge. I'm fascinated by the massive English wheels in your shop. I have a body shop and I dabble in forming panels. A harbor freight wheel was all that I could afford at the time so I bought one. I was very pleased to see an expert like you using one. Thanks for sharing your craft.
That cutoff tool is made be Florida Pneumatic. HotRodHippie is correct it is badged as Aircat, Jet, and quite a few others, but at half or more of the price. Also the Chief composite reversible cutoff tool is the same one Marco sells at 3 times the cost of harbor freights price.
Looks to be the same model as the Aircat one I use and reviewed last year. About $40 cheaper than the Aircat. The only cut off wheel I use on a regular basis. 👍
I put up an thread on the Garage Journal on this tool, and looking at the exploded view between the Aircat and Chief, they are identical part for part. It would not surprise me if they were made by the same parent company and simply rebadged. I have this Chief tool as well as the mini-die grinder ($40). I couldn't be happier with them both.
@@57Joe There are numerous companies buying this design from the same place. Not just those two. I know that for a fact. Is what it is with import products. Usually one gets an exclusive for a while, then it opens up to various brands.
Good morning Wray, thanks for the review some of the tools at Harbor Freight and Salvage really impress me, glad to see these tools work in a professional environment. Thanks and you take care.
I'm assuming you are asking what brand of cutoff wheel do you use? I use the premium one sold by Mcmaster.com. SAIT brand long life 4" dia. 1/32" thick cut off wheel.
I never had a 4” come apart but i had one of those little Drexel cutoff wheels break apart Cutting on a Chevy van body one time and i think it was largely due to all the discs were super cold from being in a cold garage and once the disc got hot it exploded i was Well suited up for safety and i found parts lodged in drywall over 30 feet away from where i was actually cutting i later calculated the speed it was spinning to the size of the blade and it was well over 100 Miles Per Hour ! I was working in a very old and drafty Barn and it was Around 25 degrees outside and in the barn Because it didnt have any. Heat and the panel area i was cutting on was a compound curve so that blade had a lot going on to it as i had to work on a 1 inch radius area around a large conversion window frame i changed my strategy and wound up using a high quality metal blade in a Bosch jigsaw to make the final cut out that worked quit well
I saw those, glad you did a review, wondered how they performed.once in a while, and more now Haaaaaaaba. Freight has some quality stuff..sorry had to throw the accent in..jealous of that vise!

How do I keep the 4" wheel center on the arbor? The flange wont keep it centered. Do i have to align it by eye?
You need a disc 3/8 arbor is very hard to find out, look at lowe's at dremel produts have a disc 3/5" arbor 3/8 is perfect
this one doesn't work, you have to get the one i just told you at Lowe's
Can those sparks mess with the air hose?
No
If you look at Harbor Freight's Chief Die grinder, it looks identical to Ingersol Rand's at half the price. (probably made in same factory)
Just picked one up for $110 today. Initial impressions, impressed!
Am I the only one drooling over that vise?!!
Beautiful tool I have no idea harbor freight sell that kind of grinders can't wait to get me one
