I just bought the new one. The one that has the SAME model # and yet is all black and has a rubberized grip barrel lol. Works great so far! About to grind the paint off an old beat up hand plane, so we'll see how well it works on a 6g compressor!
@@hybridmusclegarage4590 it worked GREAT on the plane. I think the cheap sanding disk kit from HF was a mistake and it doesn't like only having 6g of air, but the tool is great and it's not its fault I can't afford an 80g compressor lol
@@hybridmusclegarage4590 out of curiosity, do you think buying a 10 or 11 gallon tank (not a compressor, just an air tank) and hooking it up to my 6g compressor would improve the run time? Or would it improve it a bit and then just take 3 times as long to refill before I could use it again? Or would it not have enough air at all and do nothing for me?
@@woodworkerroyer8497 Yes adding a tank helps alot. It will take longer for it to air up, as the pump is only made for the 6/gallon. But adding a extra tanks will help!
I gave up trying to buy the $15 (or was it $20?) version, they were all broken out of the box so I “splurged” and got this one. I bought the cheap $15 straight air grinder and that one worked great out of the box. Here’s a tip: Buy the other sanding disc holders in 2” and 1”, as you wear down the 3” discs move it to the 2” and then the 1” holders ‘cause it’s the outside of those discs that also wear down first, you’ll make those discs last a long time and you’ll use ALL of the disc and not just the outside ring. 😎
I use an angle grinder all day working At a tire shop. Was wondering if it could hold up to about 1,000 tires a month before I buy it. I already have a Cornwell one now that was super expensive but I need a back up one and this looks really nice for harbor frieght
I bought Harbor freight's cheap Central pneumatic version It has a metal nut on top like you're talking about but I only used it maybe seven or eight times in 5 years and the gears inside shredded. The chief one you have looks a lot nicer but it's also about three times as expensive now. But I bought a husky to replace the cheap Harbor Freight one cuz the Husky one comes with a 3-year warranty. Harbor Freight only gives you 90 days unless you want to pay for a one or two year warranty
I also have a CHIEF die grinder from Harbor Freight and have found it to be a very good tool out of others I have purchased in the past... Great Video...
I have this angle grinder since they came out and I use it hard never had a problem still like it I also have their what they call that air shander the one that's narrow and stuff by chief I like it too I beat the hell out ofit a lot over a year holding up great so far 👍dude don't by they sandy disks and things they .I by the ones on Amazon , really cheap including the holder and everything I can buy like 20 times more for the same price . I use a lot .
@@hybridmusclegarage4590 try the 10 dollar harbor freight one, it works really good for really light things such as grinding and wire wheel, but it also cuts well, the only problem Ive found with it is that the lock button is pretty weak but then again I’ve been over tightening all of my discs. For 10 bucks you can’t go wrong
The central pneumatic die grinders from Harbor Freight are complete trash. The gears in the head are too soft and strip easily. There's a huge difference in quality stepping up to the Chief.
Yo I watched this just to see the direction you spun the keys to tighten and loosen the collet because mines stuck and you showed so much useless stuff with out that. Ridiculous
Well you didn’t take long to show up did you. 😂😂😂 you’re a clown I’m guessing you run around in bubble wrap in daily life. It’s. Sander it’s not going to do much except remind you not to make the same mistake again.
You could tell you don't know about grinders sorry but I don't think you should give your opinion on this tool and probably any tool's so your saying that you don't need a good grinder for engine porting or Metal work lol find something else to do SMH
Well done. Exactly what I needed to see for my project. Thank you, HMG.
glad it helped
Great little mini grinder
what size air compressor would work with that grinder? I need to remove some corrosion from my truck. Thanks.
you will want to start with a 25 gallon. anything bigger is better. anything smaller wont keep up.
Amazon sells a variety sanding disk with holder + the little safety stem, I just got masking tape and wrapped around it to remain open.
Cool man, Thanks

Great tip on the holders. Thanks for that!!
Mine came with 4 keys
DAMN LOL. a spare set is always good! you gonna like your new die grinder.

Mine still works like new and i use it all the time. As far as how long they last, I dont know.
@HYBRID MUSCLE GARAGE thanks. I tried the central pneumatic one and it was garbage. I think I'll try this one out and see how it does.
@@jerseypb2223 Im willing to bet youll be happy with it. Just keep it oiled.
I do need one of those. Great info, thanks
Thanks
Sounds surprisingly quiet?
As a matter of fact, it is!! I love it. Thanks for watching.
Might want to think about putting that gauge on the other end of that hose.
Great video very informative!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Wow haha i just got one. Thanks for the review.

Yes its great, Thanks Metal!
I bought an all metal Bolton brand, 20,000 rpm, 2.2 cfm @90 on sale at Lowes for less than $30.
I didn't know what that check ball was. I have a Aircat I took apart & greased.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up!!
Def a DA sander would be a much better method of taking that rust off...much faster and stays flatter and no chance of stray scratches
Good point, but i have been looking for a reason
to buy an angle grinder for a while. Thanks

The Central pneumatic is all metal, and is still a piece of junk..

Good to know. Glad I got the Chief one instead of the CP one that was half the cost.
