I just heard about a great deal on Fein Grinders, 2 pack for $99! These are really good grinders they are corded not air or battery power. I'll leave the link if you want to take advantage of this sale. www.trick-tools.com/Fein-WSG-7-Angle-Grinder-2-pack-14579
Harbour Freight is really raising there quality level. I bought some of there icon 3/8 sockets and the swivel head ratchet. I also bought the earthquake 3/8 12v ratchet and so far I am very impressed. I think harbour freight is on its way to being a serious professional tool supplier.
Harbor freight is like most tool supply stores or tool companies. There are cheap options but also some better quality choices. I bought this grinder because it felt solid in my hands . It has performed flawlessly. I’ve also bought several other chief air tools. All are serving me well .
Have had mine for about 8 months now I do a lot of fab work on semi trailers and truck and it gets used almost every day even the other guys in the shop have been using it they also like it but I will say if you hook a p style coupler with a 1/2 hose it wakes that grinder up makes a huge difference.
I have one it works great. The only issue I have with it is the switch started to stick on after of 4 months of every day use. My boss sent it off for repair with the air tool man and it has been good ever since.
Harbor Freight! Really, I would have thought you would have gotten a Snap-on air grinder. Seeing how you are a big fan of Snap-on, or Mac, or Mac-Co. Nothing wrong with the harbor Freight grinder, in my opinion. Nice video Clay. Thanks for sharing....
I would like it if you could review the chief long barrel air hammer it has been on my radar but have to wait until the boarder opens before i can go to the states to buy it.
Nope you are correct but if that spark bounces and goes in your eye it will. Same saying “why wear a seat belt I may flip in a creek with water” well you have to weigh you options and obviously debris and sparks are much more likely to happen vs the disc breaking
Your post is a couple years old but if anyone sees I just want to say. Took a direct hit to the eye of plastic safety goggles. Hard enough it knocked them off my face. Captured a metal chunk about the size of a BB. The impact resistant plastic doesn’t shatter. It stretched, so when I put the glass back on the BB was still in the plastic which had stretch enough to touch my eyelashes. No doubt, that piece of metal would have came through my eyelid. Typically I don’t grind with gloves or sleeves. Getting hit like that anywhere has never happened before or since. Broke numerous discs, they haven’t seemed dangerous. Your worst unforeseen hazard is a basic wire wheel. I’ll put a shirt on for that.
With it getting hot in the day and cold at night my water separator doesn’t catch it all. This weather here is crazy and it’s always high humidity. I drain the tanks but there’s just no stopping it until it either gets warm and stays there or cools off and stays cool but 85 in day and 45 at night ..... it’s gonna be there
I’ve never put oil in an air tool. Can u do a video explaining when, how often, what type of oil, what air tools need it etc. I’ve never seen that. I’m obviously a weekend warrior hobbyist but I watch for tips and knowledge. Love the channel. Thx!
@@KoonTrucking thx!! Good thing I asked And thx for answering. I don’t think i use any of my tools Enough that they’ve died yet but I’ll immediately find a video on how to oil / lube air tools and make it a daily work practice. Thx
@@donotrobme9295 , I use air tool oil and the blaster air tool conditioner, but for different purposes. I only use the blaster air tool conditioner for cleaning on the rare occasion. I also use it on new air tools out of the box. Most come from the factory with a lot of crap in them. Once cleaned, I switch out to normal air tool oil. In my opinion, the solvent nature of the blaster air tool conditioner isn’t good for continuous use. Once in a blue moon. If you have clean air, good old air tool oil is better for daily use. Air tool oil is usually a non detergent 10 weight oil that has corrosion inhibitors in it. Most hardware stores that sell air tools will have the oil.
I have chief and baxter air tools no problems work better that corded or cordless. Warrior or central electric angles just do not last. Did wally do those welds?
@@colelyles6964 how many other brands have you used? Put a dewalt in the same environment and it’ll die in a few weeks tops. Only issue I’ve ever had with a Metabo is the switch, and the welding truck swaps them out free of charge or if it meets its death to a I beam falling on it. Metabo is who invented the grinder. You work around old timers in metal fab and they’ll tell you to go get the metabo. That’s what they call all grinders.
I have the chief Air hammer and love it! Also have a few other of their top tools such as both 3/8 and 1/2 inch battery impacts and the air 1/2 impact, all earthquake xt and if I’m being honest there are good buuuuut those torque numbers are a little inflated lol hey clay if you ever wanna try them out for a review let me know I’d be glad to mail them to ya for a Demo as long as I get em back haha!
I actually have a 1” harbor freight impact and to be honest it has been mistreated since the day we got it. Never gets oiled and it is abused. Still going. I also have the 3/4” earthquake and it’s pretty good.
with a 10 gallon air compressor it would run for an hour 30 minutes then you would let it cool down. however you can run it intermittently. but my recomendation would be to get a bigger air commpressor.
Trust me I completely understand ! I cussed the regular cheap 90 degree grinder and went through several of them before I finally trashed it. This has impressed me, several people sent me messages and said they got it and it worked so I fully trust them and they were right, this one is good.
No Harbor Freight, you have way too many brands now. Pick three, one good, one better, one best. Also you should have had one battery for all your tools.
Don’t forget you can use the 20% off coupon on the Chief line also !

I’ve had great luck with the Chief tools also. No complaints here at all 👍🏻
Air tools will have a place in shops for some time to come, I'm sure one day that battery tools will win out, but not any time soon.
I still use my HF pneumatic grinder at work. Other mechanics borrow it all the time haha. Its been great for the money, I think it was around $20.

I am unsure about the die grinders I just have the 4 1/2 inch grinder and it works well
Clay I recommend trying out either the Bosch or Makita X-Lock grinders, no more wrench needed to change your grinding discs with those grinders.
Yep safty glasses !!! Cause the price of an eye is outta sight!!!
Haha exactly right !
I have one it works great. The only issue I have with it is the switch started to stick on after of 4 months of every day use. My boss sent it off for repair with the air tool man and it has been good ever since.
I've had mine for 2 years. The lock button to take the disc on and off has stopped working. It won't catch so i can't tighten the grinding wheel up
Appears to work better than the air angle grinders at work. I work as a welder in a trailer factory. 7 inch grinder bogs down all the time
Has anyone out there bought the chief air hammer? If so, how’s it holding up?

I priced the snap on then the IR ......
Clay , l want one of those hats you're wearing, looks awesome!
I have the angle cutters and long cutter. I like them they have plenty of power.
And...... this tool is made in Taiwan (6:10) ! Their pneumatic tools are excellent ; The Taiwanese are also USA allies. Go buy one!
Great video have a great one and stay safe 👍
Cool.
P&F Industries is the actual maker I have the same grinder I love it no problems!
This one has impressed me especially comparing the price to the IR at $299

Hope all is well . Great vid
I love that you're willing to review tools that I can purchase for work and home. Is that lifetime warranty as well
I don’t think the grinder is lifetime warranty it’s probably a year
90 day warranty i believe
You can buy the extended warranty i think for 2 years is what harbor freight usually does
I have the air hammer and it's great
review and testing on entire chief line 👀👀👀
You have to give the chief air hammer a try
Seems pretty damn legit for the price!
$99 be the IR for $299
@@KoonTrucking im gonna have to check out the chief lineup!

Cool
Doesn’t look bad for a HF item.
I saw the tub o towels...

For $99 you could get a Metabo corded 4 1/2. The last grinder you’ll ever buy.
I'll agree with this one my dad has had his metabo for atleast 10+ years and still works to this day
