This is a most thorough review of the XR's photographic capabilities but for some may be a bit hard to understand. The solution to making sense of the sped-up narration is to play the video back at .75 speed. Having captions enabled also helps. There's a lot of detail presented here, and trying to keep up during accelerated playback requires more effort than should be necessary.
I really like your detailed review sagar! I'm interested in this phone and your video really helps to see the different shots it takes. I'm wondering about that portrait and pet setting, I love taking photos of my puppy. He turns his head a lot when I try to take a fast shot, would this camera be good for those? I am glad you liked the video. XR is really good, but if you can stretch your budget a bit, I would suggest to get the iPhone 11, cameras are much improved over the XR, and it can also take portraits of pets and other non human subjects.

First of all it's not 720p, it is 828p and many and I mean many more people are interested in iPhone XR videos (I get ton of comments and requests everyday). Plus the Mate 20 Pro is going to be a big flop in India like its predecessor (coz of its price). If people are going to spend over 60-70K here, they will go for Samsung or Apple, no matter how good other phones are (I know it's sad but its true). Plus Huawei as a brand isn't well established in the minds of Indian people, so it's a huge pain for me while trying to resell that phone, and I have to take a big big loss in that case (which is not at all good for my channel) So it's 90% certain that I am not going to buy that phone. I'll make videos about it if Huawei sends it to me, but chances of that happening are very slim.
@@Tecworkz Don't waste your money on Mate 20 pro. Let the comparisons come with other popular mainstream devices like OP6, 6T, S9 etc. Comparison with Nokia 7.1 plus would be a treat to watch.
Hi - a very helpful review. I am looking to get a new phone - but use my phones mostly as a camera. Are you able to adjust settings manually with this phone? For example, I often like to play with the aperture to get dark/ whited out shots. I also love being able to head the lens straight into the sun - to change daytime into dramatic scenes/ silhouette and sunsets. Will this camera do that - or is it 'too smart' and adjusts itself to avoid dark foreground?
You can use a manual camera app like Filmic Pro (or any of the other ones) to change all the settings manually. Yes, it does adjust the settings automatically coz it has Smart HDR and it is that smart, but you can turn that off from the photos settings and then capture silhouettes.
I think the problem with Snapchat is that it zooms in really close when using the front facing camera. It’s most likely a Snapchat issue that they’ll hopefully fix
As I said, I was on a trip so did not get a chance to shoot and edit videos. Don't worry, I checked and there is no other good camera review of the XR, so I think its better late than never 😃

I prefer telephoto portraits. Portraits are not about the space in the shot, you are supposed to fill the frame with ur subject , so telephoto portraits always look better. Even on DSLR cameras lenses used for portraits are upwards of 50mm.
It depends on what you are looking to do on your phone. If you are a normal user who doesn't take a ton of images, or for whom their smartphone is not the only camera they depend on, then you definitely can. Not that XR has a bad camera or anything like that, in fact as far as single camera goes, it is still one of the best ones out there. It's just that, if you want good cameras as well, you should at least look at the iPhone 11, as it gives you more versatile set of cameras. I am saying all this, considering that you are thinking about a new iPhone XR. If you are thinking about getting a used one, then it's a big NO! Hope this helps.
These are 2 very different phones man. It totally depends on your budget and what you expect out of your smartphone. If budget is not a big worry, then definitely go for the iPhone XR.

Go with the 7 Pro if having multiple lenses is very important for you, or if you have been an Android user for a while. If you think you can make do with 1 camera (which I think most people can), I think you should go with the iPhone XR. It's primary camera, overall images and Videos are better than the OnePlus 7Pro.
XR definitely had much battery than the 8+. And for the camera, it totally depends on how often you think you will be needing the telephoto lens. I would still choose the XR even for the camera.

You can’t even spell you’re correctly. Think again before making fun of someone for how they speak their probably second language when you can’t even spell such a basic word like you’re correctly in your first.
I would say the XR. It has an incredible camera, just as big screen in a smaller body and gives slightly better battery backup. And it got a 20K discount just today, so it sweetens the deal even more.
How fast? How many photos did you take and how low did the battery get? If you were out in bright sun and the screen brightness was all they up, and you took images and or videos for over an hour then its of for the battery to get low. If you only took a few images, and battery got lot lower, then you might want to get the phone checked.
Depends on how much you know about photography. If you know a bit you will see a difference. I suggest if you can spend the extra for the 11, you should get it.
Depends on what you need. Both are great phones and the XR is the better value phone, but if the telephoto lens, slightly smaller bezels and higher res display are important than to for the XS. Otherwise you should be fine with the XR.
XR is still a very good phone, and it will remain so for a few more years to come. But hold your purchase for some time, Since Apple has started manufacturing iPhone 11 in India, its prices are about to come down in a month or so, and it might be available at around 55K. I think iPhone 11 at around 55K willl be a much better option than the XR at 52.5K. If you don't want the iPhone 11, then XR's price might come down a bit ore by then, so you can get it then.

I think wide angle portrait is better because you get more space in the shots.

Depends on what you need. Both are great phones and the XR is the better value phone, but if the telephoto lens, slightly smaller bezels and higher res display are important than to for the XS. Otherwise you should be fine with the XR.

XR is still a very good phone, and it will remain so for a few more years to come. But hold your purchase for some time, Since Apple has started manufacturing iPhone 11 in India, its prices are about to come down in a month or so, and it might be available at around 55K. I think iPhone 11 at around 55K willl be a much better option than the XR at 52.5K. If you don't want the iPhone 11, then XR's price might come down a bit ore by then, so you can get it then.

Hey , My Xr front camera displays glares while taking images outdoors..and indoors the images are pixelated (front-camera only)
What could be the issue ?

Do you have a screen protector on ur phone which coves the notch of the phone?
@@Tecworkz Yes ! It covers the entire screen (including notch)
Glares on the front facing cameras are mostly caused by the screen protector which cover the notch and camera.

If you know that you won’t be using the telephoto (2x) camera very often, the I would say go with the XR.
