how you stay motivated without a solid plan is astounding to me,,, can't wait for the next ep (but don't push yourself)!! name idea for the pillars: The Stone Comb or The Prongs. since this series is called The Hammer, naming landmarks/important places after different types of tools could be on theme. plus, combs were invented in the viking era!
10:15 the way the pillars look with the mist and the curve of the hills beside it is so cool! And having the community help write a movie sounds like a great idea!
the different series you have on your channel are very inspiring. not just because of the incredible building skills and editing, but also because you show that you can take minecraft like a blank canvas and turn it into anything you want through the modding/resource pack community. great stuff.
YESSSS!! new hammer episode! these pillars could be the last remains of giant gates, that are way older than the viking village. when the vikings discovered these pillars, they interpreted them as a sign of some god and build their village near them. to add to this, you could build the ruins of two watchtowers on the mountains the pillars are standing between.
Would love a cinematic with music and voiceover telling the story of the village when the project is finished! For the stone pillars you have created, they kind of remind me of the ruins of an aqueduct. A suggestion I have is to maybe add some small stone rubble/boulders around the pillars if you want to suggest that they were structures, or maybe just for extra detail.
OK, so about the pumpkin thing... Pumpkins are from Mexico and they are therefore native to North America. They were first introduced to Europe by european settlers who transported them back across the Atlantic. Even though the vkings visited North America it is not certain that they encountered pumpkins, but perhaps they were found by the vikings in Vinland. Evidence is spotty, and chances are super small, but there is a possibility that vikings found pumpkins and harvested them.
I'm glad that i click this video. I'm a sucker for cinematography stuff and your's are my favorite! Love the atmosphere your making like the intro and those ASMR cuts ( Which is so cool! ) Looking forward for more vid of your's and Keep up the good work bro!!!
I wanna take part in making the story. Rough concept, the pointy stone ruins have long been there before the village even existed. The villagers believed there is a powerful being in its direction. Anything past the stones, they don't take it and anything that came through it, they return it. Everything past the stones belongs to the entity's territory. I Imagined this area has many earthquakes so the villagers would believe that it's the creature walking. I will leave the nether portal tree stump because it isn't technically finished. That's all. TLDR: Villagers believe that a Mythical Entity lives past the stones and fears it so they leave it alone.
I somehow stumbled across this channel whilst looking for Minecraft mods and I don't regret it. The way everything is done and the thought that goes into it is amazing.
Your honesty is amazing and it was fun seeing how you handled something we all struggle with in Minecraft. :3 I think the cobblestone generator in a forge makes sense for the time period and the mechanisms of it. If we were able to print endless stone irl, we would have a forge for that! 😂 Love the idea of making a short movie, but you can do the voice over yourself, in my opinion. Something about your voice is so soothing. 😸
Lore idea for the Pillars: So if anything the name of the pillars is probably something like “Catastones, Stones of the Worlds” something ominous but more story told, anyways LORE. Upon Entering the lands men, women, children and horses, lined up through valleys, mountains, river and plains. All for one thing that sunny day. A town to call their own, Something to keep and hold so close. But as the days grew thin, the winds blew colder and colder, until group of the settlers died, As they went the fallen were nothing but a distant memory, but one child. One child who knew all would grow tall one day, and build a monument after losing his world to something he knew, the thought of freedom sitting in everyone’s mind, tucked away as a small greed, as years grew, the freedom lessened. Leaving only greed for the old world. Henceforth the child built and carved and built some more. a time long forgotten, cities and palaces sunk to the ground, leaving nothing but the 10 stones, to rot and erode.
Someone else mentioned that "The Comb" looks like a bridge structure. While I like that idea I had actually thought it reminded me of an ancient dam structure though very incomplete! For the story I feel that the narration should be by an old woman / chief / elder of the village since they are typically the kinds of people you'd expect to have good stories having been around for a looong time. Also stories are usually told to younger folks as cautionary tales that often echo the fears of society for that time. An idea or 2 for consideration. =)
I really like your video style! The way how you choose your shots and the way you narrate. Its really entertaining and professional :) Inspires me a lot!
*Thank you Lowresbone! We moved to a new home now and I am home sicked. I missed my childhood home and city alot.. and everything there.. But thank you for uploading today Lowresbone! You helped me coped my sadness tho. And great video!*
A community-driven movie would be amazing! But it's important to set the scope beforehand, cause it WILL get more n more complex, and the drive to "add all the cool ideas" is what kills most projects like that. Keep it down to earth and in-tune with what's realistic, and what's wishful thinking and never-to-be's, and you'll achieve amazing results with your talent)
Halloween is a pagan Irish invention ( basically a post harvest piss up ). Nowadays its the eve of all souls. We brought it with us everywhere we emigrated to. It was the Americans that came up with pumpkins and the jack o lantern which has found its way back here to Ireland. The Old Norse celebration of álfablót, ( a sacrifice to the elves ) would be their closest thing to Halloween, and sadly no pumpkins. Oh and by the way I'm jealous of tour Norse village despite having all the mods, textures and addon's. Kind of like art you have it or you don't I'm the latter but will keep trying.
To me those ruins remind me of ancient civilizations and for lore i would think that this ancient civilization was having a war against a dark kingdom or the nether and used these pillars as masive Waystones to transport perhaps an entire army, armada or something like that and after the war/battle they left it in ruins until now (at least that's what i like to think)
If you're looking for story/movie ideas I would recommend looking up TrixyBlox and StephBlox's channels because they're building sn ultimate survival world where they remake biomes in Minecraft and add lore to them. This world is absolutely gorgeous and makes me desperately want to download the Conquest texture pack! I can't wait to see what the story of this realm turns out to be.
Always look forward to your videos these days, I'd like to suggest one thing though, in this thumbnail and future ones like it, try making the text bigger. I have a fairly large monitor with a 2560x1440 display, and I still had to lean in close and squint to read the "(for scale)" text. I think the text looks great artistically speaking though. Regardless, thanks for making the content you do, it's really great!
the ruins point south that's interesting! because with stonehenge ruins, they did point it to the moon didn't it? or maybe they just pillars that look really cool but anyhow i think it'd be interesting to cook up some reason for that to be there
Maybe the gods of this world built a bridge to help migrating settlers across the tops of the mountains, as they were once islands during a legendary flood……… and now only the supports are left???
Lowres, if you made a Minecraft movie than you would officially be my greatest friend, ever. I had plans to make some sort of movie with one of my other builds, has not come to fruition yet (or at all), but I know you could inspire me beyond no end with your excellent cinematography skills. P.S. if you ever need actors, I am available!
😍 The views on this series unfortunately don't reflect just how good it is. Personally, it's my favourite series (and you have made some really good series, so that's saying something!)
Maybe these are Vikings that settled somewhere in canada, cut off from the rest of the world. They create their own religion and even discover a portal to hell
Ohh! I use a free one called Davinci Resolve but it’s a little advanced if you’ve never edited videos before. Id recommend checking out some of the default ones on your PC to get started
A movie project using the community's stories is such an amazing idea! You should totally go for it!
Thanks my guy!
:)
With the way these stone towers stand evenly placed between two mountains, they kinda look like support pillars of an ancient bridge
Yes, that is a good idea for lore, too)
I thiught the same!
omg i thought that too

Maybe the 9 prongs of (village name) or the viking language equivlent of 9 prongs? It kind of gives me stone hengr vibes from Brave.
@@Dandygirl_94 ooooh this ^^^ The Nine Prongs sounds like a real thing
The comb of Sif?

Yeeeeeeeeees! New Hammer Episode! By far my favorite series on your channel

I personally think that this series is rather underrated, it's a great looking texture pack and pretty fun looking

the village need a religious place for Odin, some villagers everywhere and more stuff like statue...

0:47 “set up some stakes” dude outlined his giant rock plan without knowing the plan
When you introduced yourself I thought you said Lawrence Bones. Great video as always.
Love your videos! Absolutely amazing with this progress. Keep up the awesome work!
You should use the "Shoulder Surfing" mod, makes 3rd person useable and actually really nice.
Amazing series, keep it up lowres
Lore for the pumpkins if the Vikings never cultivated them could be that they're locally native and your settlers adopted them
OMG a movie rendition will be awesome...you should go for it. Nice vid as always✊
you deserve so many more views !!! your videos are great they’re comforting :) 🌱
You should build a sacrifice place or Whatever its called
Since the vikings were known for sacrificing goat.

but anyhow i think it'd be interesting to cook up some reason for that to be there

holy smokes I love this guy's videos
Your stone pillars remind me of the scene in Lord of the Rings with the two huge statues either side of the river.

Ohh that’s an angle I never considered
Love when I see that you have posted a new video

Scary bro
Rip technoblade....
This is really cool!
The best video ever
Vikings never grew pumpkins. They didn't arrive in Europe until like the 15th or 16th century. Luckily, this is Minecraft so it don't really matter
have not caught up yet, but have you made mile markers? It's something people used to do back in the day before maps to mark distance
Pumpkins are native to North America, most likely no Viking has ever seen a pumpkin in their life.
I have committed a crime
You should add the small ships mod it adds small ships that you can sail like boats
9:13 yo it's a pink sheep.

The only thing in which you are lagging is the time gap btw the episodes
I live in Sweden and there you can grow pumpkins 😉🎃
There’s proof!

Just so you know, the next age is the bronze Age
Technically that would come after stone though right? We are in dirt right now, then wood, stone and so on?
What shader is that
hey lowres, what mic do you use? it sounds amazing and compressed
currently using an SM7b
@@lowresbones do you have any added compression on it or something of that kind?
@@Ghiafreak yeah I add basic eq and compression etc.
