I bought PPL (Pakistan Petroleum Limited) at the end of September 2024 for around 108 Rs and sold it in mid-December 2024 for approximately 211.50 Rs, making more than a 100% gain, highest I’ve ever achieved on a single investment. The reason I invested in PPL was the strict instructions from the IMF to government-owned companies to reduce circular debt. At the time, PSO and OGDC were already slightly expensive, while PPL seemed attractively priced (undervalued, in my opinion, as the reduction in circular debt meant the company would surely benefit from this). So, I decided to go for PPL.
1.Bought ilp in 2022 last quarter at around 70 due to increasing sales and usd consistently appreciating against pkr, got 100% return in almost one year as it gave 100% bonus and price recovered to 70, moreover dividends of rs 4 were separate. 2. Bought dcr in nov 23 around 15 with the psyche of creating passive income stream, got around 50% price appreciation and 14% dividend return.....

The company’s total production capacity is 10.2 million tons, and when cement demand normalizes and plants operate at 80% capacity, the profit potential is estimated at $50/ton. At Rs. 22/share, the price is less than 50% of the projected profit by that time.

The company did not announce a dividend in the last results, stating that it would be distributed in the next quarter following the merger with FFBL.
