Honestly, I just love that Kale in general is a lazy corporate asshat with no imagination instead of an evil mastermind. If something doesn't have a shortcut to the end, he actively hates doing it.
It fits in with the general theme of "Evil is Inefficient" the executives have going for them- Korsica is the most professional and reasonable of them all so of course she is the one to switch sides. If you pay attention to the notes and such you keep finding more weird choices made by them that(ironically considering Roquefort is Kale's number 2) should be costing the company so much money. Mimosa spends so much money on personal perks for her performances (a minimum of 3 aquariums with 5 varieties of fish in each, to be set up for her to WALK PAST on her way to the stage from her dressing room, a private jet complete with catering waiting on hand, even when her performance is ON SITE!) Zanzo not only massively micromanages R&D, forcing them to constantly waste money to cater to his ego and whims, but consistently made executive decisions to change designs to be "cooler" such as modifying Korsica's simple and efficient laser turret design- ie they don't blow up because you damage them, block enough hits and they self destruct to cover up the shame of their poor performance, a design change made solely by Zanzo. Reka's macho management of Production included Quality and Assurance measures that were just trashing any Defects, with no testing or examination of why they happened- replacing a simple process for minimizing errors and waste with a GIANT F-ING ROBOT, complete with its own self destruct feature. In the more general sense, the New Vandelay robots have all these obvious combat features, but are marketed as being mundane (the flame throwers are for barbacuing apparently) and they apparently can/need to eat human food? and have pay and benefits that are massively curtailed and removed, despite being robots? and they also seem to keep pushing work off onto the older models, inflating their own results and making the older models look worse, while showing that as soon as the older ones are phased out completely the company will be filled with lazy, work dodging, and incompetent robots. IN short the executives managed to make "improved" robot employees that have as many of the disadvantages of regular human employees as possible while still being robots that can stand the abuse long enough to keep the company from collapsing under the weight of the mismanagement so far. Kale's ultimate evil plan basically boils down to him abusing consumers via mind control to force them to spend money on vandelay products instead of putting any work into making products people would want to buy, he laments how hard his job is, but he only has it because he abused mind control to get it, and he still has someone around to do all the hard parts for him if he wants but it still isn't enough for him. The mindcontrol plot made so much sense as a take over the world plot because of the combination of how cartoonishly evil everyone was and their weird design choices (every "civilian" model robot is clearly weaponized so they would have had them EVERYWHERE after selling them) but it also makes sense as the culmination of Kale's failure and very narrow area of competence- he is clearly a very tallented inventor and engineer, his boss battle stages make that clear, on top of SPECTRA- but he uses that to compensate for what he is obviously lacking in regards to the Job he stole, and surrounds himself with people that are exactly the same. If he didn't have SPECTRA then Vandalay would have been run into the ground or gone bankrupt as soon as all the decisions of him and his executives ran their course and the inertia of his Mother's ran out.

1:18:48 This games attention to detail is so amazing. Kales snap is a metallic thud. It’s so small but so many games and shows would just use a regular snap
The editing during the Reflections segment is so top notch and fits the game so well that I would have fully believed the developers put it in there if I hadn't already seen it unedited. All the parts of the game picked to flash on the screen during the beats were so good, especially at the end having it show a moment where each of the rest of the crew is bonding with Chai just makes my heart feel full. You definitely did an excellent job of showing moments that highlight the emotional beats of the story! Gah, I loved that section already and I'm impressed that somehow you made it even better.

Im surprised shen didnt catch onto how Kale just stole from everyone and everything else, with the only invention he made was a way to control people (which in and of itself isnt very unique): - re-used the body of the QA bot on the train - re-used Zanza's bot in the final act He Literally aped IP's like star wars (light saber), spider man (Doc ock arms), and Tron/iron man (the cyber suit upgrade). Even the mind control device looks very reminiscent of Rasputin's cores from destiny 2.
I am glad that Shen pointed out the segment that uses Invaders Must Die in the "regular" soundtrack. Honestly its the song that made me actually buy the game (saw a combo video online) and where I really started to get in the groove of the combat.

Such an amazing game. It was an absolute pleasure to see Shen experience this gem. I love this game, and hope a bunch more people get to experience it.
When I was going into the Roquefort fight, before Korsica's wolf comment I was expecting a minotaur or oni themed transformation- with how many obvious cybernetic seams the guy had, the spots on his forhead and his obvious fondness for japanese aesthetics. Plus the whole hinting about his anger issues. Him being a bull litterally seeing red (as in red ink in a ledger) fit. The wolf thing was still cool, especially with the non stream music which was a EDM remix of Beethoven's 5th symphony. Sid note I don't remember where, but one of the notes in game reveals that the samurai bots were Roquefort's idea.
The Xenogears segment absolutely killed me. For those unfamiliar: The development of Xenogears' second disc got GUTTED. So to string together what they had, unbelievably huge chunks of plot would be delivered by a character sitting in a chair narrating (here replaced by Chai on his couch in the same pose), assisted by slideshows of test screenshots, side characters acting out scenes in what I can only describe as middle-school plays, as a necklace swings and glitters in the background.
I like how Peppermint receals that Kale is her brother and expects a Third Act Misunderstanding™ from the gang but they're like "okay that changes nothing, let's go kill him"

If I ever need a solid source of things to make me smile, I know Shen will always be there, excitedly screaming "GAY!" when there are gay characters. It's the absolute best
Shen almost having a breakdown over decoding how she feels about Roquefort during his fight is honestly a mood
I love how during the project armstrong bit, the text edited into the video pulses to the beat of the game, its a nice touch
Ke$ha voice: VIDEO PULSE TO THE BEAT OF THE GAME *DUN DUN*
The part with the force field is very emotional and a great look back at the journey Chai and the group has been on. That being said, he was affecting the amplitude not the frequency.
And velocity. Though the very first time the waves flashed, they had slightly offset frequencies
@@zaxtonhong3958 the segment also made me think of the game osu without the mouse clicking lol. Idk if that was even meant to be the reference but it felt like it to me
I like how unlike other videos that focus on Shen's reactions, this also shows a lot of gameplay with little commentary. I think the editor really likes the gameplay and couldn't take it away from us.
i have never seen someone so astronomically dumb yet loveable like chai, this game is so good in every way! loved ur whole playthrough id watch this if it was 5 hours
Chai isn't dumb. He just rarely takes any time to think.
@@alexlyster3459-- This is functionally the same, although still salvageable.
16:36 THIS IS SUCH A GOOD FORSHADOWING, No wait TWO FORSHADOWINGS one about the zanzobot coming back, and the other about CNMN wanting to be more like Chai one day and not just a spectator.
Just like when Kale says the joke about flamethrowers right before the chapter when we get introduced to fire hazards.
No way, we actually got a second part?! This is a new era for Shenpai.
And she even got good at the video game! Truly a great turning point.
To be fair her computer did commit sudoku and reset her game xD
The editing during 'Reflection' is so top tier it actually made me tear up a little. Chai and crew are such great characters.
Korsica's 'how about I break you' line ALWAYS gives me chills, dude!
Out of everything in Roquefort's fight that wowed me, it was the *on beat roll and get up* that he did at 58:10
Like how do they do that so well??
Now THAT is extra effort
17:47
"One can kill you, One you can peg!" got me dead
"THEY'RE GAY THEY'RE SO GAY" by far the most hilarious
this game is just a fuckin 10/10 man. it's so satisfying to play. the korsika fight alone makes this game imo.
Yep. Peppermint has a thing for Korsica. The way she got closer at the endscreen while Chai jumped in between. Haha. Poor Chai tho. Nobody's left for him xD
i dont think he minds. I kinda get asexual vibes from him but even if not he clearly sees both of them as his sisters and i mean Macaron is still open 👀😅
@@bastik.3011 Who knows. And the game probably wont get a part 2 tho the mother gives me a 2% vibe of a sequel.
@@bastik.3011
I think everyone wants a bear hug from Macaron-
@@bastik.3011 Asexual doesn't mean aromantic though. But I agree. I feel like Chai annoys Peppermint too much and is too immature for Korsica. He feels much more like sibling to both of them, speaking from the perspective of an older brother that has two younger brothers XD
Maybe we'll get a love interest in a hypothetical sequel now that Chai's more mature?
@@Birthday888 I mean I wouldnt call him A. But more of an Ignorant. 🤷🏻♂️
I was so captivated by the first video i bought this game and played it to completion, then went back and 100% a week later. Thanks for bring this joy to my life.
1:17:42 "Is this a joke? what, youthink- you think I can't deal with a CAT?"
*He couldn't, in fact, deal with a cat.*
I absolutely adore Shen adding in the pictures during the button prompts in Reflection. It's so nice.
1:06:19 I loved this part when I got to here... but I am so fucking happy that this was edited in such a way to really enhance this scene. Loved that addition so much, just made this bit so much better with that! Awesome job!
Overall, it was fun revisiting this and watching it and your playthrough of it. Really enjoyed this a lot. I hope there's more of this in the future for you and me and the rest of us TwT
Shen I love this video but the bisexual brain bit nearly killed me with laughter!
Loved the editing, especially the little flashbacks on every button press during Chai's harmonizing with the barrier.
The extra little edits to Reflection made it so much better
The love and care put into Roquefort's lines and presentation and everything.....this game has it all.....
Incredible job making the Reflection sequence hit even harder
Can I just say, absolutely love shens artwork, every picture for her videos is done very well
1:06:25 this part is already amazing in-game on it's own. But the added screenshots made it even more sentimental.
Lovely editing work!
Shen: "My view and stance on Furries are unshakable and I will not go back on my own ideals on the matter"
Roquefort: *Appears
Shen: *Visibly sweating and shaking.
Okay but the reflection QTE edit, my heart!
I wonder if all the excitement around Hi-Fi Rush will spark interest in No Straight Roads (another rhythm action game with a similarly banging soundtrack).
I dunno if you take recommendations Shen, but I'd love to see you play it.
Hi-Fi Rush: Melayu Edisi
I wonder if Classy got a metronome when editing this. The syncs are way too good. Such an awesome editing job.
54:26 SINGLE-HANDEDLY COOLEST TRANSFORMATION EVER
I kept scoring S-A-S in all my fights, so just syncing up with you screaming “SAS” at any point was a treat
Oh hell yeah! We get to see her react to the "kinky wolf moment"
It’s so rare we get a game full of This much charm...and it’s sad. But this game, is such a masterpiece
Im surprised shen didnt catch onto how Kale just stole from everyone and everything else, with the only invention he made was a way to control people (which in and of itself isnt very unique):
- re-used the body of the QA bot on the train
- re-used Zanza's bot in the final act
He Literally aped IP's like star wars (light saber), spider man (Doc ock arms), and Tron/iron man (the cyber suit upgrade).
Even the mind control device looks very reminiscent of Rasputin's cores from destiny 2.
This was a joy to watch your perspective of shen, thank you!
I am glad that Shen pointed out the segment that uses Invaders Must Die in the "regular" soundtrack. Honestly its the song that made me actually buy the game (saw a combo video online) and where I really started to get in the groove of the combat.
A shadow dropped wholesome game full of laughs, memes, and combat. I love it. Through and through Shen loved the whole trip...while fangirling over Peppermint, Korsica, and her boytoy Chai XD. Inb4 she has a Roquefort Wolf plush somewhere.... lol
Finally. Finally the rest of this blessed saga. Additionally, it took me until literally right now to realize that the cafe fight wouldn't have happened if Kale hadn't been addicted to coffee
I first found your channel with part 1 and you seem very funny. I also watched the cult of the lamb video. It was great seeing struggling to not simp for Rogeufort.
The editing in both of this and the last part are incredible. The harmonic barrier editing just made my favorite scene in the game even better ❤
YESSSSSSS, finally part two. Absolutely love this game
Oh my god the ranks for the level literally call her BAD when she failed the Korsica catch LMAOOO
on hand, the sexual tension in the Korsica fight is so dense you could cut it with a sword
on the other, Peppermint blushing at her is the cutest thing
but looking at both, I realize Korsica has two hands and thus can hold both of them.
Love your energy Shen, never change. XD
I just realised how the fire squad robots taking some time for their intro just shows how slow fire fighters can get
12:39 Not only did she eff up at the end, but the Damaged Received, Just Timing and Korsica Catch scores were even telling her she did bad. Literally. LOVE YOU SHEN❤
This game was such a joy to watch you play live, and even watching these videos back brings back such happy memories. So many small adorable details both in the game and in the video's editing. I loved watching you play this Shen!
My favorite part in the whole game is always the Reflections part, and you made it even better by putting shots of previous scenes from the whole game! It just ADDS to the impact of that part!
1:06:20 so I remember where it is~
Wait, I thought that was just part of the game! Great editing job!
54:42 He may be a big bipedal gentlemen wolf robot, but he still looked like that (54:25) and I'm not about to simp for him
56:26 Now, that ain't even fair, what am I supposed to do
Edit: No one else is pointing this out, so I am. At 1:27:52 you can see Peppermint trying to make a move before Chai appears out of nowhere and ruins it
Older gentleman in the streets, big bipedal gentleman wolf robot in the sheets.
Your sheer enjoyment for the game makes this so entertaining!!
Such an amazing game. It was an absolute pleasure to see Shen experience this gem. I love this game, and hope a bunch more people get to experience it.
1:28:00 the final part on the truck when chai points in the complete opposite direction is such a good detail
I am so glad that you loved this game I may have not played this myself but it look very fun
0:39 ah, yes, the infamous cbat.
42:17 Still can't believe Chai admmitted that his thought process, in his words, is non-euclidian here
Every time i now see an ad for SAS airlines, I just hear Shenpai's voice in my head shouting "SaS!"
I blame you for this Shenpai, you absolute goblin.
Every 24 hours this video plays for me, I have seen/heard it about 100 times and it has not gotten old or boring for me at all.
I saw the stream for the Roquefort fight and was in awe of Shens reaction for this fight XD
This was seriously a joy to watch! It's so much fun watching Shen enjoy something so genuinely, and this game is such a gem!
The text pulsing along with the beat is so good 💓
The Xenogears segment absolutely killed me.
I like how Peppermint receals that Kale is her brother and expects a Third Act Misunderstanding™ from the gang but they're like "okay that changes nothing, let's go kill him"
As a 33 year old, yes. We are ancient beings.
Such a great game, and a great person also playing it. Btw i loved it when she failed the catch, i laughed out load in the middle of my family event and got funny looks
