Is the 40k split with the other pilot? Also do you have to pay for the jet or is it someone else’s? Does the customer pay for fuel? In other words what is the actual profit.
That money is all in my pocket. Kyle made the same as me. The cost of the airplane are paid for by its owner. Kyle and I are considered to be cost of the airplane as well lol.
Do you get paid for air time only or for length of time gone
@@Projectpat0589 Day rate... paid every day away from home, flying or otherwise.
How much of the $40k was for transporting the cocaine?
$5.00 :(
This is the content I crave.... no frills, no BS, just straight facts and flying.
Cheers bro.
It isnt facts because a lot of that money has to go to future costs
@@mattk8810 the fuck are you even talking about?
@@bhollingsworthlmaooo dude comment is a prime example of winners and losers 😂
My initial instinct when I watch your channel is to hate on you but I can’t. You make good content and you run the airplane with professionalism and seem to be having a great time doing it. Good on ya man, looks more fun than 121 most days.
Haha thanks for the honesty. And honestly I hate posting video like this. I said it on the live today. It’s so cringe, but it what RUclips algorithm likes, and I want to spread my message as far and wide as possible to inspire the next generation of pilots. 🍻
Another awesome video Tommy! Appreciate the work you do for the up and coming generation of pilots! Mad love ❤
Such a motivation to us young guys getting into the industry, thank you for the videos! 🙌🏼
Thanks for the vlog keep them coming!!!
More to come! Thank you!
Really appreciate seeing how it all goes down. Excellent video sir!!
Looks like a blast. Keep up the great work and can’t wait for more vids!!!❤
Cool stuff, keep us in the loop and continue with the great content. Smooth skies ahead!
Thank you!
Love your videos. I think I saw you a couple weeks ago near Gothard and Ellis. I'm a local HBer. Preparing to get my pilots license. Going the Cirrus route. Not looking to do commercial, just to get me from Orange County to Vegas. Keep up the good work. More videos are always welcome.
Hello, first of all forgive my English if I say something wrong since I am from Mexico and as a 21 years commercial pilot I just wanted to tell you that you are one of the pilots that I admire the most for the great person that you are even having what you have and flying the planes you fly which are one of my dreams, you are a great figure for me to follow.
Thanks for sharing your journey.
It’s given me confidence that being a charter pilot is an option for me.
You can do it!
Almost done with my instrument rating and you are giving me the motivation to keep going!!!!!
You got this!
How do you record your comms?
Great show. Loved Masters of the air. Watch the Gentleman next. Hooked in 5 minutes!
you inspire me to keep going into my flight training, those views are speechless!!
You can do it!
love the show! nice to see your getting pd well
Thank you!
Tommy, great video. Love the behind the scenes and how you both kill time
Thanks! Glad u liked this one!
Good work mechanic and pilot Thumbs up 👍
Precision on point fantastic
Thank you!
Another awesome video, thank you for putting a cool, casual face on the private jet world. As I've said before, you and Owen makes the best down to earth content ❤And making like 80% of my yearly salary in 2 weeks definitely makes me envious 😂 but thanks for sharing this and all the other adventures you're up to 💪🏽😍👌🏽
Keep it up 🎉
PS weird seeing a old Norwegian plane in the hangar in Columbia 😮
Thank you
Looking very nice flying.😊😊
Thank you for the video. That was very cool.
Masters of The Air is awesome. World War II aviation is actually what sparked my interest in becoming a pilot when I was 9 years old. I watched a documentary about a British pilot who flew a de Havilland Mosquito across the English Channel at night. Best decision I ever made! Great video as always, Tommy🤙🏼
Just at the Happy Dad official Ontario launch in London Canada. Line up is unreal. Need a HD hat. Wearing my Cessna hat right now. lol Bought some at the LCBO before it was out on the shelf yesterday and was not disappointed. Best of luck in Canada, my man.
awesome, love the content
You are motivation to keep the pilot exams grind
Thanks man!!!
Thanks man keep up the good work
@@gear_downThanks the grind is real, love the content as always
awesome video! I'd really like to get into this type of flying myself. The freedom and thought of working for myself really motivates me. I'm doing my best to build my network up at the moment - I'm sure thats a crucial part of it. By the way, did you - or any of the pilots that fly for you - go to college/university? Thanks! Keep the amazing vids coming ;)
Love these videos, hard to decide between this and the airlines.
Glad you like them!
Maintenance at FL410, gotta love it!
I wouldn’t exactly call light bulbs maintenance but yeah… nothing but time to kill so why now
Great content 👌
Thank you 🙌
Thanks Brother.
Thanks for making us dream. Going to my first interview in Indonesia next week where this amount of money is 4 times annual salary… but I know that this will pay off one day 🤞✌️
Masters of the Air!!!
😆
Awesome video!
Thank you!
Not sure what wheels you were discussing but if it was on the nose wheels it’s basically like a boot. Some service centers and operators will install them manly for security purposes (TSA thing) when parked on the ramp. They also work well from stopping operator’s from taking there A/C without satisfying there bill if it just came out of maintenance.
great video nice flight enjoy Medellin terrific city and beautiful Mucg=hachas enjoy and eat bandeja paisa great food
I think you are a skilled and competent pilot, probably the same as a mechanic, I have no idea about management but the coolio factor is high.
On 02, Lol. Great video brother
Gotta be above 41,000 rules are rules :)
Live Chat Going down during the premiere
bro im the bigest nelk fan and a student pilot and you are who i wanna be when im older lol when we seing your jet in action
Hey great video, keep it up. Just looking for some advice into getting into this type of flying. I'm doing my multi checkride next month, hopefully if I pass I'll be looking for any job to keep getting my hours, I'm still trying to get Cfi and Cfii but checkrides are booked with a 9 month wait time. Any advice on what first jobs would you recommend with pilots with low time? Also what are your thoughts on best ways for pilots to network to get into this type of flying.
You should see the KCFO ramp.
Logo lights are def on both sides of the tail, (I work for Gulfstream) u must have a burnt out bulb. Def not an option for only 1 side lol. But bro, have u seen the brand new G500/G600’s? With 10 touchscreens in the cockpit?? If u haven’t u got too! It’s insane! I get to test every one that comes off the production line, ur mind would be blown compared to what u are flying! U would love it! Great content btw. Keep up the cool stuff.
Awesome!!!! Can't wait to see those.
Great film in your intro you said it was la area Houston Dallas Columbia ect in this started two cities in Cal. And on to Columbia. Also not shure where part one is thank you for all this subsribed.
Great video! How much did yall burn total on the way down? What Mach did you fly it at?
A lot total burn 19,800lbs and flew it Mach .80
This motivates me even more 😎😎🤙🤙I'll be in your situation in 3 or 4 years.
Keep it up! You’ll be here!!!!
thanks sir! be safe always🤙@@gear_down
Awesome.
Some make more than $400k in 15 days smuggling drugs as a pilot.
How many hours required? Do they want turbine PIC?
FAA is typing…
They should be making at least one million a month!!
thats part 2 ruclips.net/video/FtuxQ4dHgSI/видео.html
Great video bro. What platform do you use to send out the invoices your clients?
Great vids man! whats the key behind all of your networking because you do fly some pretty high profile and rich clients. How did you meet most of these people or how did you get your naem out there. Im lookig to get into the contract pilot bussines when I complet the rest of my certificates and ratings.
There’s logo lights installed on both LH and RH sides. Those and the lower pylon lights are constantly blowing out..
Y’all flying out of chino?!?! I fly out of KRAL so cool to see yall local. Any chance you guys giving tours or info sessions?
Love your videos, but you make me miss flying so much. Mostly King Airs for me.
Love your video’s. One suggestion. Record in 4K. Look forward to more.
Your rate of descent into medillian was like a rocket ship…….🚀
Medellín Colombia 🇨🇴 San Andrés My favorite destinations in Colombia 🇨🇴 and making mad cash at the same time ufff living the dream 🇨🇴🛩️🇺🇸👍🏼🙌🏼💪🏼🥇🏆ty brother
Sweet. Now come fly the Iowa corn run for 3x that amount in 4 weeks. Just a little bit more work though. 15 hours in the cockpit every day. AT802
Epic
🔥💯🔥
You’d be surprised to find out that most crop dusters can hit these kinda numbers in the middle of the busy season. We gotta work sunup to sundown and only have 3-6 months to do it. But we get to live our lives the rest of the year.
I believe it. Anything AG makes $$$$$$
Dope vid… you’re an inspiration!
How long did it take you to finally reach a point in your career where you felt fairly paid ?
Honestly as soon as I started flying gulfstreams.
Awesome vid! I love those G4! Is that the max range for that plane without stopping? Or can it go further?
4500nm non stop
@@gear_down wow! At .80? How far was that trip you guys did in that vid?
Recently found your channel, any advice for someone wanting to leverage their A&P to get into corporate flying?
Hello Gear Down. Why that routing so far south of Costa Rica and Panama, entering Colombia over Cali, instead of flying a more direct route?
Hey question, I noticed when flying to Medellin you flew to UMGOS, then over to the CLO VOR, then up. I am an instrument student working on getting to where you are and want to make a note on this route in my mind. Is this a safer route or what is the reason if I may. Thanks in advance!
Me really enjoy your video. I want to be pilot when I grow up. One question, is it safe for pilot to watch movies when flying? Is it because as long as 1 pilot is flying, then it is ok? Thank you.
Love the videos man great insight, just a question tho I assume the income isn’t consistent so would it be hard for you to get a mortgage, obviously I understand if it’s too personal to answer
Nope my income is very consistent, I’ve been on the road 55 out of 75 days this year 😏
@@gear_downthat’s great man good for you all the best 💪
Do these types of jobs come along often? How did you break into the private air game? Are the owners officially in charge of the plane's maintenance?
nice bro :)
Thanks for the visit
Bro when will you fly to KAPF?!!! Let me know
Mexico 🇲🇽 city is currently the 6th largest city in the world 🌍 before it was the 3rd then Shanghai and Pekin overtook it by population and land density. (I've been there since 2000.. hence.. The useless facts!) 😂😂😂😂 great video as always my brother 🙌🏼👍🏼🛩️🇺🇸ty
what departure airport was that with the bad ramp
What's the fastest cruising speed you have hit during a long flight?
Hey what did you do during spring break?
Ah nothing much, just flew a gulfstream to Colombia and changed some lightbulbs on the way there
Hahaha it’s true!
beautiful muchachas
Another great video. Does the Gulfstream have some kind of turbulence damping (not the y/d) that causes the yoke to react that way?
Nope that just how planes try to compensate and keep the cross pointer centered at the 60hz they operate on
Why at approximately 9:25 is there a gear down light on?
20:12 & 20:18 It's interesting to hear foreigners using proper ICAO phraseology while native English speakers don't.
Definitely
Nice! Sure beats that $421 a month I made as a 1st Lt flying in Vietnam. Oops, forgot the $50 for combat pay.
Inflation…. thanks for your service
Nice hat ;)
Pew pew
florida live stream behind the scenes, if you know you know
Hahhahah
Great video. Let me know when and if you get typed in the 650. I can use you!
I’m SIC now, hit my DM. If there’s work I’ll gladly pay the upgrade instagram.com/@gear_down
@@gear_down Will do! I’ll hit you up shortly.
Other than a type, what are the minimums you require for SIC work?
So basically Barry Seal… but without the drugs and guns… and a jet vs. the Aerostar 🤣🤣
Are you ever able to fly your fam out to stay with you while you’re waiting for your flight back?
What’s a good way to get turbine time?
I assume there is no dress code anymore as in no uniform? Or is it client-specific?
Realistically, how many hours do I need to be a Part 91 SIC? Especially just moving acft from one location to another.
A cloud steerer and a washer squasher
Sounds better 👍👍
How did you find landing in MDE? How different was it to other airports you have been to in terms of altitude and terrain? Cheers from Canada from a Colombian abroad!
No different at all. I’ve flown all over central and South America. As well as Europe, Africa and asia
Paradise is Ontario
I love these vids but they also make me depressed lol
What’s the highest altitude a G4 can fly? And do you reach it or usually stay a bit lower?
45,000ft we did it on this flight :)
I love your content and use it as education for myself as an air traffic controller but your FO needs some serious work on the radios.
Hahaha Kyle is dumb sometimes
yoo jasen what’s up i start atc school next month!
What was that warning sound going off when you were descending?
Electrical interference from the engine ignition system (we turn in on in heavy rain)
@@gear_downto prevent flameouts like the 737 in Indonesia? Or restart more quickly if it does?
Do you have to pay high rate taxes as a w2 employee, or is there any way to no loose almost half of a paycheck to the government?
I’m not a w2 and yes I pay in the top USA tax rate
So much opportunities in the USA. Being a canadian pilot sucks....
Get an FAA license!
Giving Kyle crap about airplane video? I'm in Medellin watching you fly to Medellin! Landing view was great, don't get to see that from the back of a 737....
40k in 15 days and after landing at a foreign airport one of your first thoughts is youre not pulling the tow-bar out 😂😂😂
Damn skippy. I’ll never pull one of those out again.
@@gear_down when I think of the things I've done for 90k a year pulling a tow bar doesn't seem too bad l. Is it a real pain to get out and back in or something?
got me wanting to trade in my 737 type rating for something else LOL...
75000$ just for pilots that quickly escalates a trip cost. Plus hotels. Extreme overhead in private flying which could be fixed.
