I am grateful to be able to follow Jeff's trajectory in this way.
Once again, we can see that Jeff interacted with musicians of many different genres and tastes.
No doubt Jeff himself was inspired by their music.

I like that Jeff played on so many people’s albums and in very different styles.
This isn’t my particular choice but I appreciate that if I listened more I might change my view.

Such a surprise to hear Beck in this context. It has such a Jazz Crusader vibe. I respect him even more. Thanks for all your posts, Chromedreamer!

Steve Alexander played on the 1999 and 2001 tour as well. Steve came out of nowhere. The only significant playing in his past was with Duran Duran. The group hired him in 1995; he played with them for 6 years. So there was a period when Alexander played with Jeff and DD. Steve really blew my mind; he was phenomenal. He was a perfect dummer for JB’s techno/electrica music. Steve just had a great balance of “skins” and percussion. He replaced Duran Duran’s previous drummers that included Terry Bozzio (former JB dummer) and Vinnie Colaiuta (future JB drummer). His name should be mentioned in any serious conversation about the greatest dummers that played with Jeff. Jeff’s playing on these tracks is awesome; a deeper dive into the techno genre. I believe JB’s 3 techno records are just like the 3 rock/jazz fusion albums. He did 3 in a row of each; exploring the genre till he had his “fill” and then moved on. The first song sounds like his guitar sound is highly compressed and he is using the Wah Wah pedal intermittently throughout the track. I must find this album for purchasing.
