I don't think Lord Shimura would approve of: A) killing foes that are surrendering or fleeing, we look them in the eye. B) you not wearing the Shimura colours at all times. C) using move cancel to spam moves. It's dishonorable. Other than that, Lord Shimura approves! 👍💪
In my first playthrough I challenged at every opportunity and avoided using "dishonorable" tactics only to discover the game would eventually force me into it. Thought it would be more of a paragon/renegade mechanic with choices and consequences. Still a very enjoyable game in which I did everything but was pretty disappointed I couldn't play as I intended.
The samurai stuff never even made sense half the time. Shimura first was like "this hwacha isn't honorable." Then immediately asks if Jin even knows how to use it. Would've never gotten the message for reinforcements without it.
It's cool though. We killed all their leaders and put them in poverty, so that move is basically like an IP going into the public domain after the company goes into bankruptcy. 😎👍
I hope the developers wanted us to play the game like this too, I think when this came out the genre was oversaturated by the simplified stealth mechanics

3:03 did you know that even if you kill an enemy with the stab, once the killing animation is over, you can still continue to stab instantly to the next enemy? I saw the opportunity to continue the stab attack to the next swordsman and I wonder if you knew
The first time I played this was I went for a stroll around the map without having or unlocking the ghost techniques (Story locked), I went onto a nearby Mongol camp it was overwhelming I couldn't get it done after a few deaths I managed to free the camp. At that time, I didn't know that Ghost techniques is essential for stealth/infiltration what I did was just went it straight XD
But this is how I played the game. It’s the most fun and brutal and audibly most pleasing. In my opinion this style cannot at all be incorrect. The perfect dodges and parries are just literally to die for.
I play this way mostly, use stand offs to eliminate 3-5 off the bat then just chop through the rest of the fort. Sometimes you have to use stealth though so an alarm doesn't get raised/hostages killed though so you can't do a 100% balls out playthrough, some stealth is always required.

Ive just came back to the game after a year from direcetors cut and have just reached 1700 hours and this game is still so fun to play.
