Out of the handful of Natcon speeches I've listened to tonight, Mr. Gottfried's was by far the most lucid and intelligent. Regardless of what you think of the ideas, this man is thinking clearly and is worth engaging.
@@parmenidesofelea9092 I can't remember the exact name, but it's something along the lines of the meaning of history: Hegel and the Postwar American Right is a really great book
@@GQ2593I really liked his book on Hegel, it really does a good job of tracing how the individualist and liberal wings of the right in America came to overthrow the communitarian & traditionalist Hegelian and Burkean strands of the American right
What a joy this was to listen to! The names, publications, and history all brought together in a final analysis. I wish it was at least 30 minutes instead!
Gottfried gives a solid analysis of Fusionism. However, on another note, he is very wrong regarding the nature of the Putin regime in Russia and the threat posed (in its alliance) with Communist China. Cold War never ended…
@@TomWoodsTV Oh come on, Tom. I dislike the Romneys and David Frenches of the world just as much as you do, but surely we don't want ACTUAL racists in the movement? Surely there's SOME people we would actually want to exclude, aren't there?
@@irvinglambert9316 I'm not taking cues from my opponents, it is I who dislikes racists and alt right types. I'm not saying that to appease the left, I feel that way.

Gottfried is a living legend. His books are mandatory reading material for every conservative. Great to see him on the main stage!
what's his best book?
@@parmenidesofelea9092 His most recent book on antifascism is what I would recommend. It's in large parts a summary of his previous publications.

@@krystal7958thank you.
WE ARE SO BACK
Hearing Gottfried is always stimulating.
Man I hope he still has a few books in him
whoa they got Paul Gottfried on?!! Awesome...
Finally! I have been waiting for you to post this. Kneel before Gottfried, Jonah Goldberg.
Old Gottfried is still sharp as ever.
Wow kudos to yoram for inviting Gottfried. A legend of conservatism. Paleocons ascendant.
Very interesing talk.

Major influence on my own thinking over the years.
Who in their right mind would invite a guy like Paul Gottfried to speak at their conference
... and only give him 13 minutes?
This is his best speech (from Hans Herman Hoppe's "Property and freedom society" 2014 meeting): ruclips.net/video/gYPAvT-3Fvs/видео.html
It's certainly his boldest.
The Birchers were right about Vietnam. It’s funny how anyone who has been systematically stigmatized were completely right.
He’s not far enough right, but he’s a man one can talk to. lol

Umm... no, it ended. Our internal struggles were never properly dealt with though, so now we're fighting a low grade Cold Civil War instead.
A divisive speech instead of one that unifies.
Division against neocons is good and necessary. Let them cling to their true friends on the Left.
Division is needed.
I love the nat con movement, but it needs to steer away from unsavory types like Gottfried, who rubs shoulders with alt right types.
He's far more savory than any neocon.
When you allow your opponents to control who is/isn't allowed in your "movement", you've already lost.
I love the nat con movement, but we'd better consult Mitt Romney on which people are respectable enough to talk to
