I was around when the creator of these CWK Straight Plates first brought her idea to a hair forum I was a part of. It was back in 2013/2014. She started a kickstarter to fund it. I don't think it ever really took off. I heard some women got theirs but most didn't. I think she was having manufacturing issues or something. The ones in the video look like they are from a relaunch because the original ones didn't look like this.

Yess totally agree. Though my hair is short I still find a way to do some type of heat-less method as far as stretching with rubber bands, but they tend to break my hair off so I was stuck air drying and I’d have to detangle right after especially if my hair isn’t moisturized at the time or sometimes I let it air dry without the rubber bands and then my hair would shrivel and get all matted smh. They definitely need this product in the stores 😅

@@HiNinqi I tried it tonight and it freakin works. I don't get straight hair, of course, but it is stretched. I tried it on dry hair after I washed my hair and let it air dry, but that gave me no stretch. So I dampened my hair and used the nozzle portion of my vacuum hose. It kept my hair stretched to the length it was when damp. Otherwise, my hair would have reverted to shrinkage. The great thing is that it dried my hair using cool air! No heat, just stretch due to the gentle suction and cool air. I gotta say, I get these same results when I do African threading. Try it! Oh and I did antibacterial wipe my hose nozzle before doing this 🙂,
