Oh lovely! This is going to be a learning curve for me...lol, and thank you Olivia for your detailed video tutorial, plus the descriptions typed for us to see, much appreciated!
where you want your sleeves to start getting bigger start adding stitches to each row. Start gradually adding stitches. you can do this by doing 2 double crochets in a few stitches in each row.
Hi thanks for this tuto. Do you think you could give the measurements in cm? That would make it so much easier as usually one doesn’t have the same wool or crochet size . Thanks a lot
I also started this project the other day! I started at the bust part and chained the same amount as you (I have the same bust measurements). I finished the bust and it’s like it shrinked???? It doesn’t come close to fitting around my bust even though I measured the chain correctly !!! Do you have any tips or ideas on how to fit this 😭😭😭
Very late reply but incase anyone else is wondering, the length of the chain will vary depending on how thick the wool is and the size of your hook. Also, if you use a smaller hook the chain will be less stretchy than if you were to use a bigger hook
beautiful tutorial!!!! tysm :) if i wanted my sleeves to flare at the ends but get fitted as i go up, how would i go about decreasing? i chained 57 as well for my wrists if that helps. thank you SO much in advance
thank you, if you want to decrease I recommend decreasing on the sides so at the end or beginning of each row skip a stitch. there are the ways of decreasing like going into one stitch then into the next stitch and then Finnish the stitch (I don't know how to explain this but it basically eliminates a stitch)
I don’t have any measurements to help you, but the easiest way would be to crochet in round after you’ve done the top adding rows. And increase or decrease stitches as you need to do that the round will fit your body.
I just tried my tube thin on and just marked off the spaces where I wanted the shoulder panel and then made the amount of rows I needed. if to you are making a smaller size you can do less rows and vice versa. No I didn't increase the shoulder bit Xx
if i’m doing one colour for the sleeves, can i just crochet the length of both sleeves instead of doing 2 and sewing them together? how many rows would that be?
If I wanted to do the shoulder/back pieces in normal double crochet without missing one so there's holes, would I keep the same amount of rows or do more?
hey girl :) I did the same amount of rows chains etc for both arms but one is always shrinking to almost half the length and I don't really know what I am doing wrong? I redid the second arm 3 times now and I am always trying to not fasten the stitches too much but I don't know :(
How would I alter this project and make it longer? I wanted to make the front parts longer, so how would i gradually increase the stitches to fit my body?
hello, the project is very cute and I tried to perform it following your instructions (obviously with my measurements) but when I then finished and wore it under the armpits and behind the neck was very tight, almost sharp, I did something wrong?
Yes it’s a 3mn hook. I don’t really know the thickness of the yarn- the weight is dk light worsted and you’re meant to use a 4mm hook but I like to use a 3mm hook because I like the tension of my stitches to be nice and tight :)
Can you provide this tutorial from beginning to end with a bit more detail, like yarn size, thread type for sewing pieces together, and how to size it? It would be nice to see how the 'over-the-shoulder' works?
You can unsew ( I don’t even know if that’s a word) the shoulder panels and add more rows to make it longer. If you had already sewed the bust piece and shoulder piece together, you would obviously need to unsew that too in order to make more rows on the shoulder panels
Hi, I was wondering if the sleeves and the shoulder part will fit me if I follow your measurement. I'm size small btw. And is it not too tight around the shoulder part ? I hope you'll reply:^)
I get my yarn from “Cosi crafts” if I’m in Ballito & a new shop called “Sew hello” in the Flanders mall ( it’s near mount Edgecombe). Also I have bought yarn from an online store called “jaarn”
hi, when you sew everything together, do you crochet it together like you showed when you further attached the shoulder panel to the bust, or do you go in and out with a needle? please get back to me and thank you for this video :)
Thank You!!! My granddaughter just asked for this sweater! Nana’s must fulfill wishes!!!! Thank You!!
Yes! I Love that 😂

I've been looking for this tutorial for ages and finally found it, thanks~
Oh lovely! This is going to be a learning curve for me...lol, and thank you Olivia for your detailed video tutorial, plus the descriptions typed for us to see, much appreciated!
there is a tip, that if u think double crochet is too see through, u can always try the half double crochet which is a bit tighter
Yesss! I’ve been waiting for this one. Whole reason I started crocheting ❤️
hi! how many skeins/grams did you used per color? ☺️ thanks for this amazing tutorial btw! 🤎
This is the best tutorial I've seen yet for this top! Thank you for sharing, on my way to go start it! Xx
Actually
I’ve been waiting for this for so long! Thank you
I finally DID IIITT!!
thanls for the tutorial❤💕
If I wanted to make the sleeves flare out, sort of like wide arm sleeves, how would I go about that?
where you want your sleeves to start getting bigger start adding stitches to each row. Start gradually adding stitches. you can do this by doing 2 double crochets in a few stitches in each row.
Can’t wait to try this! How many did you chain to fit around the bust part? I’m size small so think it should be the same?!
I chained 135 and the measurement around my bust is 91cm.
She’s a L to XL. So do way less since you’re a small. Small is 77cm-83cm.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! Do you have advice for what to do if the bodice part got too big?
When you say use a 3mm hook do you also use a weight 3 light yarn? Can I use a weight 4 yarn and a smaller hook/bigger hook to fit my yarn?
This is great! But when wearing the top isn’t it see through? Or do you see in some fabric?
yeah its see through but I just wear a bra without straps and it works perfectly :)
Love the tutorial!! But I was wondering what the measurements are for top? Thanks :)
for the shoulder part, how many cm did it end up being in length?
Hi thanks for this tuto. Do you think you could give the measurements in cm? That would make it so much easier as usually one doesn’t have the same wool or crochet size . Thanks a lot
I also started this project the other day! I started at the bust part and chained the same amount as you (I have the same bust measurements). I finished the bust and it’s like it shrinked???? It doesn’t come close to fitting around my bust even though I measured the chain correctly !!! Do you have any tips or ideas on how to fit this 😭😭😭
I’ve only just seen this, try working in the very first stitch at the beginning of each row. Sorry for the late response Xx
Very late reply but incase anyone else is wondering, the length of the chain will vary depending on how thick the wool is and the size of your hook. Also, if you use a smaller hook the chain will be less stretchy than if you were to use a bigger hook
For the body part, can I just chain like a tube top so I don’t have to sew it together? Or does it have to be a flat piece that I sew together?
you can totally do a tube
beautiful tutorial!!!! tysm :) if i wanted my sleeves to flare at the ends but get fitted as i go up, how would i go about decreasing? i chained 57 as well for my wrists if that helps. thank you SO much in advance

I do thank you for the tutorial but sadly it didnt work for me and i followed everything correctly, but it just didnt work out
Wow! Do you have any tips on how to extend it into a dress please?
I don’t have any measurements to help you, but the easiest way would be to crochet in round after you’ve done the top adding rows. And increase or decrease stitches as you need to do that the round will fit your body.
hi !! what kind of yarn did you use ?
Heyy, thanks for the video! Do you have the measurements of the length of the sleeves and shoulder panels?
It's dk weight yarn for anyone else wondering.
ahh thank you!! i was looking for this comment :)
how come the work is getting wider at the top? it exceeds the initial bust measurement so it wont fit, how did you keep it from getting wider?
I didn't go into the very first stitch when doing the double crochet chain one stitch. Look at 5:06 on the video
You are really helping us thank you❤
love this top!! is there also a written pattern somewhere? :)

how do you know how many rows to make for the shoulder part if making a different size than you? also did you increase for the shoulder bit?
I just tried my tube thin on and just marked off the spaces where I wanted the shoulder panel and then made the amount of rows I needed. if to you are making a smaller size you can do less rows and vice versa. No I didn't increase the shoulder bit Xx
if i’m doing one colour for the sleeves, can i just crochet the length of both sleeves instead of doing 2 and sewing them together? how many rows would that be?
Yes you can do so, it would be the sum of both parts. But you can also just see & measure as you go along. It doesn’t have to be exact
Love it 😍
Very nice 🤩 please show the yarn label to see the info that it has written, size of hook and yarn thanks 🇵🇷👍

Hey i have a question? What if you want to turn it into a dress?
When you start the row do you put the needle through the second or third stitch??? It’s hard to see
at the end of the second row do we go into the VERY last stitch or do we just skip and chain 2 and continue?
I like to go very last

Hi. What do I do if its too small? How can I adjust? Both arms dont fit
how can I make the waist part tighter??
Mine like bunched up at the bottom , the part that was suppose to go around no longer Will. What happened ?
If I’m not switching colours on the arm/shoulder part, would I be able to just crocget it and one whole big panel?
Yes
Hllo thank you for the tutorial, can u please mention the type of yarn and its ply used here☺️🙂
Just checking... Does the video at any point show how the finished product looks on a model or was it just the still of the video?
Can I use milk cotton yarn?
If I wanted to do the shoulder/back pieces in normal double crochet without missing one so there's holes, would I keep the same amount of rows or do more?
Mmmmmm I would say the same because you still doing double crochet at the end of the day. You can just see what works out I guess 🤷🏻♀️

skip one

hello, the project is very cute and I tried to perform it following your instructions (obviously with my measurements) but when I then finished and wore it under the armpits and behind the neck was very tight, almost sharp, I did something wrong?
your tension may have been too tight
Maybe you had to measure the thickest part of your arm and add 1-2 cms to make it more comfortable
The shoulder part where one was bigger than the other. Was that for fashion/style or is it required to get the look or the stitching right?
Yes I would say more for fashion/style. It is not necessary

Hi! Can I use acrylic yarns for this ?
The yarn looks thinner then chrochet so while you could I'd use a category 3 yarn it could be acrylic if you want but choose a smaller yarn size

how did you sew them together? with crochet ou regular sewing?
I threaded the crochet yarn through a big sewing needle and sewed it together. You can also crochet it together but its not as seamless
did you use only six yarns balls, or more?

you don't need to increase the shoulder panel part. you simply just making the arm panels longer to make the shoulder panels

At the end of every row, you chain 2 then skip the first stitch, can i chain 1 and not skip a stitch instead?
Well the chain 2 kind of counts as a double crochet. But I guess you can try

For the sleeves: for each color where did you measure?
