I would say Unbound is slightly more realistic even if you don't usually get stuck on that, it's more realistic than the clipping and sudden instant jump up from payback. High center is a real thing anyway so Unbound seems to make that seem to be the case more accurately.

I hate how easy it is to break a metal guardrail in unbound. Those things are solid in real life, takes a high speed to get through it (if you miss a post holding it in the ground) but unbound you can just drive through it like a piece of string
There's so many things you can do in nfs that you can't do in irl 💀

The comparison entirely is quite impressive, especially the graphics and sound design, not to mention, physics.
In the end it's a racing game not openworld gta so not every non-racing related detail and physics matter
It should matter at some point. You wanna immerse yourself to illegal street racing then you gotta get the right feeling for the game's world. A car's suspension reacting properly to a bump isn't that too much to ask for and I'm glad Unbound thought of that.
Exactly, it's not GTA, that means the cars should be twice as detailed and have better physics than GTA's

I disageee, just because it's a racing game doesn't it mean cannot be classified an open world game. They have been doing this since Underground 2 being the first open world NFS game
Take for exemple the Driver games from the PS1. Most of the time you're racing against the time or running away from the police. Yet similar to GTA but the main focus of Driver are the driving and the chases.
Nfs payback psychics just more realistic. Instead of just blowing up, they are literally broke in payback
Well yes it it, but some downgrades had to be made to make the game a stable 60fps since a lot more is also going on in unbound.
How’s payback has better physics? Well unbound has some not only drift but now you can build yourself grip builds. Cars that grip instead of drift at least that’s somewhat realistic but still they’re all arcade games.

@@Morgorath30 payback off road is still better than heat off road. at least payback had a lot of challenging circuits like the ones where you had to go trough the canyons, while most of the circuits in heat were all in wide open areas
Drifting in Payback is the best. Heat has everything else.

I would like to see more comparisons like;
Max dirt (similar to max damage),
Nitrous (how it exits the exhaust),
Burnouts,
Tire marks (when doing burnouts, drifting, or braking),
AI's road sense (when coming in an intersection, do they stop? And if you were to drive normally, are they going the speed limit? I found Payback's speed to be really slow, around 25 mph, give or take),
Ragdoll/Crash Physics,
Turbo Flutter,
Wheelies,
etc

In NFS Payback it is actually possible that bots talk to you during the race but only the gang leaders. I don't know how it is in Unbound but at least you have some talks in Payback.
in unbound theres race dialogue with whoever you betted against, and also if you pass someone or crash into them
Honestly payback did it better when it comes to racer dialogue, unbound has more but it’s nothing but cringey shit like “I’m not about to let you take my money!” And many other things that are cringe… even our character says a lot of cringey things

@@aarons0z992 they had an almost perfect cop system in heat, but criterion doesn’t know what the fuck they’re doing and instead of perfecting heats cops decided to throw them away and replace them with their extremely annoying at best unbound cops. Can’t believe it’s the same developers who made hot pursuit, which has an infinitely superior cop system

I really liked Payback, in my opinion it's the second best NFS of the last generation after Rivals, too bad the game had so many microtransactions.
Did they ever fix that? Really wanted to play it, but that turned me off on it

Rivals is not need for speed with 0 story and dumb af power ups. But i agree payback is real good
@@JAYV45_ I don't care much about the story because they aren't very good in racing games, my favorite NFS is Hot Porsuit too, no story, just racing, same thing with Bornout and Blur, I like the powers of Rivals and is the closest game to Hot Porsuit.

@Raine Gingerfish The graphics aren't dramatically changing anymore. Now if you compare the PS1 to PS2. You can easily see the difference. Today? Not so much

Nfs Payback with Nfs Unbound Drifting physics would be great
In reality if you have coilovers your wheel don't sag like it did in nfs they actually stay close to the wheel well.
The first thing was legit just 1 of the few spots where it glitches like that😂 usually it's all fine and has a normal hitbox

NFS Payback with the ''Sutututu Mod'' its just a masterpiece. I really enjoyed that game, Race are kinda complicated and sense of speed is OP...

Most Wanted 05 is overrated. The majority of fans played it on console back then without mods. It isn't good. Its only good now probably because of the mods. Shows how bad a game is if you have to modify it

Payback is actually better looking with chrome but unbound has better reflections. Payback has an exaggerated but rewarding drift system that actually works really well.
honestly the overall driving, atmosphere, world and musics of payback is my favourite in last 4 nfs games, and the only one that i fully finished %100.

NFS Carbon has the best bot reactions in my opinion. Im talking about racing with leaders. Anything you do will have a reaction
they unironically use single straight raycast for wheel positioning. Wow.
Not to mention, the have no sound fades or blending in Unbound... its a horrible audio mess as well
My problem with Unbound is lighting. The graphics are better but areas that should be dark like radiators, brakes etc. look like they are shone with the sun regardless of where you are. Like in a tunnel for example
The lighting is a bit off but it looks good, and if i remember correctly that doesnt happen when you are in a tunnel or dark area

Something that I really dislike about unbound is the anime like characters. They don't go well with the realistic graphics.

The 2015 graphics are the most realistic ever used in an NFS, It has real characters in the game that belong to the racing world, and the cars themselves don't look like toys, they are massive and better done than nfs heat and all the others

So after all the game just reused most materials from the previous games, my theory, they first exist in rivals, rivals, 2015, payback, heat, unbound are just the same game with different scripts and art style
Not uncommon in gaming. Nfs undercover used assets from hot pursuit 2 onwards, gta 5 still has some san andreas scripts in its code and assassins creed Valhalla still has code from unity.

This is happening cuz Nvidia PhysX Vehicles using single raytrace below suspension joint.
And I believe EA is using PhysX Vehicles for new racing games.

Both games lazy coding cuz PhysX Vehicles is a simple package.
I can clearly say that EA developers didn't put too much effort on vehicle dynamic. All calculated by PhysX Vehicles SDK.
