Try cutting it into smaller section. Melting one section at a time. Then place the next section down to melt. It work much better. Hope this helps you and anyone else who might want to try it. Love your channels.

With practice you to can can be a master crack stuffer. It takes time I've been stuffing cracks for 50 years, some say I still need more practice.

If you're going to use the cord type sealer you should warm it in an oven first. This allows the product to be stretchable and adjustable for the width of the crack.
In colder or fairly damp environments, working with this stuff becomes a nightmare, in which case I recommend the latex type asphalt crack sealer from a caulking tube.

nattsurfaren cement will make the crack worse. Its harder and and gets colder than asphalt
