  • Porcelain repair cracks with Milliput.
In this latest The China Repair Studio video, I will be filling in the Famille Rose bowl with Milliput.
Join me and start learning the skills of ceramic, porcelain and pottery repair and restoration.
We will be covering equipment, adhesives, bonding, filling, sanding, painting and airbrushing.
We all have a broken piece of pottery, china/porcelain lurking in our cupboards which we can all recycle and reuse.
I have been a ceramic restorer for many years after training in Oxford. Most of my clients are private but I occasionally work with antique dealers.
I would love to share my experience with you.

Do you know Mayuyama Koji they call the 'unknown master of restoration' ? Incredible techniques. I bought a similarly large 18th century bowl that had been broken and glued back together as I wanted to give it the Kintsugi effect. I found it on ebay, it was sent, not delivered, went back to the UK ( I'm in France ) and then it came back again to me. By that time I was working on another project and the bowl has sat on a shelf since then along with another chinese massive one that also needs some love. When I recently moved house, my favorite old plate ended up in a dozen and more bits so that's also a project and there are losses where the bits were too small and fractured so it will be Milliput. Thank you for sharing.

    Hello Alison,
Nice work today... Would I be correct in thinking that now you have done the gluing and filling it would be reasonable to say that you have stabilised the structure of the the bowl.
    Take care.

I think I have a nail cuticle pusher (we call them orange sticks) do you think that could work? Love that Sue recommended your channel.

Hi Mandy, I think a cuticle stick should be ok as it is very similar to a cocktail stick and has the extra bonus of a flat end. 🥰

Hi Alison, I hope you are doing well.
If the client didn't wish to go down the kintsugi road, would you colour correct the areas that were a bit gappy.. ie the rim etc
    Great instructional video btw!❤️

Hi, Alison - would you be interested in doing a short video to air on my channel (SueMe - 34K subscribers) giving an overview of what you are teaching? I mentioned on a recent video that I have been watching a ceramic repair channel on RUclips, and a lot of people expressed interest. Let me know if this is something that you might like to do... 😊

Hi Sue, it is very kind to think of me, I would love to do a video for you. Is it for the coffee pot and cup?💕
