This video piqued my interest in Snake Pass. After playing it, I completely understand Dunkey's reaction. Those clips where he keeps falling into water, falls onto spikes, and complains about the scarcity of checkpoints? They're all from the same section of a single level! It's easily the most insidious part of the game until the fourth and final world.
I also think Snake Pass' controls were often frustrating when combined with how punishing the game is. It was a fairly satisfying game when you got it right, but honestly, I starting playing it thinking it was a colorful cute game, but that's a real masquerade right there.
