@@MetalizedSoul The hit boxes are wonky. If you ever look up Super Smash Brothers, there's these things called "Phantom Hits" where the HITbox and HURTbox don't overlap. So you "hit" the enemy but don't "hurt" the enemy. Koopa here, likely hit the box on the edge of the hitbox but visually it looks like it missed.

Aight Poof, to prepare you for the rest of the cups and just to improve on driving in general, take note on these tips; Hold A on and off to look behind you when driving, it seriously helps for incoming projectiles and hitting opponents with items as they're on your tail. The more items you get to hit them with the better chance your rank will be higher. Also wheelies are a good extra speed boost for straight roads when you wanna get a better time record, but only do it when you're in first so you don't get thrown off course. Lastly for items, I'd like to conclude that every box counts. If you already have items like 3 bananas and you get a second box, throw them all in random directions to have a better chance of hitting some people, and keep gambling items for a better hit ratio, but always keep something on you to protect you, good luck with the rest of your playthrough, I look forward to watching the rest of it!

A little tidbit about green shells in Mario Kart: When ricocheting off walls, green shells have the ability to “smart bounce” where if they’re close enough to a driver _(any_ driver) it will actually adjust the bounce angle to make a hit more likely.

No way he does that. 3 star is essentially just luck. you can afford around 3 blue shells or lightnings per cup (varies per cup a bit, but when I did this I learned its best to reset in that case unless It was the last race). The times are way too strict.

Me too, I’m an avid mk8 player, but like a week ago I got the chance to play on an old friends Wii, and let me tell you, the controls on this game are HARD, I was struggling not to bonk into a wall, Poof has come a long way
I literally had the urge to turn our Wii on for the first time in a decade, replicate Poof's build, and avoid using wheelies, just to see if it should be even remotely this hard to accomplish.
For anyone wondering I dusted off my old Wii just to see and it took 2 or 3 games just to shake the rust off and do exactly what he does however I have too admit it was harder than I first thought I might play Some more but I might have too take a look at my Wii bc it nearly didn’t turn on or I might have to buy a new one

Seriously it's not as bad as before but sometimes he beelines for hazards plainly ahead of him for several seconds. Plus, he's never learned that drifting can help you dodge faster than just tilting.
Never, and i mean, NEVER in my whole time playing MKWII I've seen the CPUs hit so many crazy green shells like they did in this video. Poofesure's luck is seriously out of this world.
Poof. When your wheelieing, all you have to do to stop it is start a drift. On a wii wheel it can be hard to stop it any other way. Your driving skill has improved significantly however unless you wheelie you will keep struggling
