this shows that, every zanpakutou has there own personalities or rather have unique appearance....that's why there was a filler arc about their zanpakuto called "Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc"...it's the only filler arc that i got interested in (but there are contradictions regarding about the lore and it does not fit well if it is a cannon story)...and if you remember the soul society arc when they are about to rescue rukia, renji spoke to his own zanpakuto Zabimaru after he was defeated by Ichigo...if you remember the monkey with a tail of a snake...
