Y'all are really good at seeing the deeper meanings Kubo tries to say. You wouldn't believe how many people think Ichigo just gets random power ups all through out the series.
The thing about Ichigo still being able to sense Aizen's power when no one else can kind of reminds me of Gohan watching Goku fight Cell. Gohan didn't realize Goku was giving everything he had because Gohan was stronger than Goku at that point. Ichigo doesn't realize that being able to sense Aizen's power actually means he's somewhat close to the same level.
Aizen was 100% about to murder Matsumoto. Also, Tatsuki is in a bit of a strange situation here in terms of narrative, as she was initially intended to be part of the main group who got powers, but the editors got Kubo to cut her.
