What’s the best method for strippers out near Boston light? trolling? Mackerels? Tossing lures out on the the shore? Or even cut bait. I have a boat out near where you were today and I’ve been really struggling so i just need some advice.

All the above work. I have been most successful trolling and using live mackerel. The key is to be there at the right times. Best to be on the water as closed to sunrise as possible

@@DirtyWaterOutdoors Isn't it more dependent on the tides? Also where can I find blitzes in the harbor? either pogies or herring, and what times of the year are best? We have kayaks and live in Boston so I'd like to start fishing more in the harbor rather than going to Swampscott every time.

@@q_liftslucha Tides play a big part. I’d say the best times are an hour before or after a change in tide. People swear high tide is best but i don’t really think it matters. I think it matters more which bate is in the area. Early season it is going to be mackerel so trolling an Xrap is super effective. Late season like now pogies are everywhere so you have to snag some of those guys
