    What a treat to watch as always. Thanks dear sweet Luke! I loved how truly thrilled Grace Kelly was that Ernie Borgnine won for Best Actor. Dean and Jeannie Martin what a gorgeous couple! Back when Academy Award Night was filled with natural beauty extraordinary talented entertainers. A night filled with the highest fashion grace and star quality class. Not full of 20 minute self promoting/political acceptance speeches tasteless obnoxious jokes appalling writing for host and presenters. Oh for the good ol' days when........

I would wear a tux made by Sy, and use Dax on my hair ( again) and there would be women who wore classy evening gowns, and supper clubs where people would just enjoy being together, listening to The Ray Anthony band, and.........................but, sadly Luke it is all way, way back in the smokey mists of time, when Bogey and Bacall brought a kind of magic to that big silver screen..........

    I don't forget anything about Grace Kelly. Who can forget the nicest Lady ever? We don't have to forget Grace Kelly is one of the 8 women most celebrated and most famous of the Century. Maybe The Country Girl is not an excellent movie, but nobody can't deny the very talentes actress Grace Kelly was. Is she talented? The Proof is given by the fact Grace is still the greatest Princess of the History.The most regal one. Unfortunately she didn't have enough time to show Her greatness at acting.

    I agree "Bad Day At Black Rock" a superb film. "Marty", I saw it in a small local theatre here in Birmingham ( Th original one, in the Midlands ha,ha ) and thought it such an ordinary story, so lovingly told, and quite honestly I was so suprised when it won! But, as I said the others up for an award were also very good. Spencer Tracey....brilliant! Thanks.

    Do you really mean that? To the most, Grace Kelly's features are the most perfect ones. She's the epitome of beauty, the personification of grace, a special virtue most people lacks. Anyhow in 1954 lovely Audrey Hepburn won an Oscar, an year after Grace's Oscar, Anna Magnani just gor her one. Noboby complains about it. I don't think Audrey Hepburn , Liz Taylor or Sophia Loren were a way more talented then Grace was. If I just have to say a name besides Grace I choose Ingrid Bergman!

    It's such a shame Susan did not win the Best Actress Oscar for "I'll Cry Tomorrow"
    The Academy really screwed up here. Susan well deserved this Award.

    Ava Gardner you mean? She was Gorgeous: a very difficult choise between Ava and Elizabeth Taylor: Maybe this last one was helped by her violet coloured eyes, but Ava was Stunning. Her dashes were so divine. And her smile was a triumph. After all Ava was one of Princess Grace's best friends and the most beautiful guest on Grace Kelly's wedding to Prince Rainier. Hope getting your words in the right way. Otherwise I apologize myself with you.

    Just to finish, I can't get all this fierceness towards her victory over Judy Garland. I repeat: Judy was astonishing as an actress. In that year she made a great movie, but her performance was superior than the film itself. The prize was given to Grace by a jury so Grace Kelly is not to blame. She deserved the Oscar. Totally. And every insult of this kind ought to cease. After all Grace passed away 30 years ago, so I think it's shameful forfeiting a special human being like Grace Kelly.

  • @gerryracer

    They had Class, they had Style, they were what I would call STARS, today, well, OK so I'm a dinosaur, but they are mere shadows of these people. Today it seems to me anyway, that the stars are the generators of Computer Graphics, and to sell a film on the name of a well known actor, only to find it's his voice that has been added to a CG image...nah, not for me.

    I think it should have been great, being able watching Princess Grace Of Monaco returning playing in the clothes of the former Grace Kelly. A superior Skillness, a new way of facing the camera, a more deepper style and so forth.

  • @Worldwide170
    @Worldwide170 12 лет назад

    Yes of course Grace was a very great actress, actually she made hardly 10 movies in just 5 years of career. And her success was worldwide, unique. Hitchcock used to say: Just give her some more time, and Grace will be the greatest actress ever! If she had kept on with cinema, no question she would have been the number one ever. I'm sorry she retired at the peak of her career. What a pity she couldn't make Marnie. It should have been a further way to show her talented way of acting.

    Excuse me, but yesterday night the way I wrote in english was only a full mistake. I just wanna have a look at what you suggested me. Once, so long ago I heard about Rat Pack: Did Bing Crosby was a member, aside great Frank Sinatra? Anyhow I didn't think Judy Garand was as great at singing as Edith Piaf was. You know " La Vie en Rose" is worldwide known, I don't think " Over the rainbow" is just as famous as the song I said earlier, even though Judy's voice is a miracle. Nobody forfeits her
