Why Torry Holt is not in the Hall of Fame and Drew Pearson is shows you the politics of the Hall of Fame. Torry should have been a first ballot! He’s one of the most underrated receivers of all time.
Dude doesn't get his credit, he was a smooth wide receiver to watch run his routes with pure accuracy, it was literally art to watch this guy work on the field from college to the nfl, a special talent that's very rare to find.
This man needs to be in the HOF already. I really liked Megatron, but no way he should get there first (to me having equal or better numbers for 2 yrs longer plus a SB ring & 2 SB appearances gets you extra consideration...except for holt, I guess. He just wasn't as hyped--although CJ's 2 year stretch mid-career--1681 & 1964 yds--was the best EVER, incl Jerry Rice). But CJ had 3 straight yrs of 1300+ yds. Holt had SIX STRAIGHT. Nobody else did that till Julio Jones recently (& although he gets a TON of targets, he also had 5 str8 yrs of 1400+, to be fair).

Matthias P. Joy Taylor has upgraded herself since working with Colin because she makes sure she is heard and always knows what she is taking about. Christine wasn’t a good fit for that type of show. She is showing she actually has some talent on this show. I didn’t think she had any when she was on his show because she wasn’t assertive enough to not allow Colin to over talk her.

They didn't ask their guys to win matchups...they just overloaded the place the ball or ball carrier was to go to. But Faulk was special, & you can't help but feel like he'd have broken SOMETHING with more carries. But remember, the game plan was to use him more as a receiver. But (usually it was) Willie McGinest was always holding him as he'd try to release from the backfield...only got called once, late.

So imagine if teams knew the exact play from the formation, every time. It changes things no matter who you are, at least in the Super Bowl against another great team. Don't forget that part--Pats were a great team, on the rise. Given the advantage they were given with that film, of course they were going to, for the most part, slow the rams a LOT. And the rams had Orlando Pace & who else that could compare with the cowboys' o-line? No one. You just can't give an already great team an advantage like that. Not in a fairly even matchup like a super bowl. Plus, the rams were SCHEME HEAVY. It was their main advantage, & how they used holt/bruce/faulk so effectively.

Except Philly, who were helpless vs. the run, so they victimized them (Philly also overwhelmed vs. Torry Holt specifically & the passing game in general. 6 man front & you have Marshall...what do you do?
