  • Hi folks, in this weeks video I show how I sewed my very, very basic wrap dress. I am over the moon with how this has turned out, its so straightforward to make but yet the shape is super flattering. This is one design I know will be playing around with♥️♥️♥️ I hope that those of you that are thinking of sewing up something similar enjoy and find the video useful. Susanne 💕

    Very pretty. I tried sewing a wrap dress once and something...went wrong. I don't even remember what, but the thing landed in the wastebasket without even having been worn once 😆.
    This really makes me want to try again. I basically live in simple jersey dresses with 'mock' sleeves and waist ties in summer, so I should get a lot of wear out of something like this.

    Hi Susanne, I love your videos and I am learning a lot from them! We have very similar body shapes so everything you make I feel would love lovely on me as well! Would you ever consider modeling your finished products on video as opposed to showing photos at the end? I think it would be really helpful to see how the dresses drape and flow on a moving body and would allow us to see more details. I know you have a very specific format for your channel, but I just thought I would throw it out there. Happy sewing!

I really would like to have the raglan top with the yoke - so many wonderful SMART patterns - and very unique! Love to hear from you, Georgia in B.C.

    Could you please be more specific with how you did the facing/binding at the hem edge of the dress. I have always struggled with what to do there. Love the dress on you. You make it look so easy. I just completed a wrap dress myself and it wasn't that easy.

    My first time seeing one of your videos and it is great and easy to follow. Could you tell, which kind of straight stitch you are using, when sewing the sides together and the hems? It looks still to be strectchy with a regular straight stitch, which never work for me. Pls elaborate on the stitches 🙏🏼

    Great video! Regarding the stabilising tape you used, is it necessary and what does it actually do, does it make the fabric a bit stiffer? I've never used it before. Thanks

    • @raraavis7782
      @raraavis7782 3 года назад +2

      It keeps the neckline from stretching out and gaping/sagging. This can happen already during construction, as you sew on the facing/bias binding. Very important, don't skip this step.
      If you don't have precut stabilising tape, cut a strip of lightweight iron on interfacing and use that.
