It's difficult to choose when Andy reviews .he could make 6 strands of wet spaghetti and a billiards stick sound like the instrument we've all been longing for ✌️
Rich LD haha yea Rich! This one has a new zero fret mod andset up for slide. Also installed a set of mojotone JW firebird pickups in custom wooden pickup surrounds . We also modded the headstock to accept modern locking tuners. Also added NOS vintage sprague tone caps, It turned a good sounding 1977 Epiphone Et 290 into a great sounding guitar that Andy will be taking out of the case alot.
Carbon resistor can produce really nice distortion on the second harmonic BUT only with high voltage applied to it (that's why we love it in tube guitar amp!). In a 9v pedal powered, it's only marketing. Anyway Eartquaker Devices is probably one of the best pedals maker and this Erupter sounds really nice ;)
I don't need any more fuzzs...BUT every one of these EQD pedal demos have me sold. I want all of them... sigh.... Well which one do I get first? Amazing pedals EQD!
“transformer-based pickup simulator” - I need more info on this. Does anyone know anything about this part of the circuit, how it works, what it does, etc? This sounds like a worthwhile addition to LOTS of pedals.
www.muzique.com/lab/pickups.htm Its very good in front of any pedal that relies on pickup loading to achieve a tone (think fuzz face.) The eruptor is just a buffer into the pickup sim into a Fuzz Face. I don't know how it could possibly take 2 years to design but thats besides the point.
got myself one of these thingamafuzzes yesterday. Needless to say, it is already installed on my main pedalboard. It took over for the DOD Gonkulator (ring mod fuzz) which took over for the MXR la machine (octavia-like fuzz) which took over for a red Fuzzface Mini (very cute!) which I alternated with a Little Big Muff. For straight up fuzz, this one sounds the best!
I have one of these, I like it alright, but it seems to be extremely partial to the low end. I recently bought a fuzz face mini with germanium transistors and it kicked the erupter off my board for now.
That is as good a vintage fuzz you can have. I see these used in pristine condition for under $100 all the time. I honestly can't comprehend why there are people paying $400-500+ on those various "Tone Bender" clones. The Erupter is just as good.
Because they want distortion and not actual Fuzz.Combine this with something that can tone shape and EQ , like the Plumes, - and you've got every possible fuzz circuit.
Being a fuzz, you're gonna use it through a clean amp, the tone is 100% the fuzz. It sounds like this through my bedroom orange practice amp and a half stack
wwwooooowwwwww.....weeeeeooohh woooh weeeh wooooh waaahhh who weeeeeh waeeeooooow woh wwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooh... this thing has got the fuzz flux capacitor to blow the lid off the bloom of the classicness of the fuzz tone-a-matic bias with the low end goin' on yo.
"The right side of the Bias shovels loads of harmonics onto the signal for a burly creamy fuzz tone that tightens up as you increase." --- I am I watching a TGI Fridays commercial?
Andy Birger, he's right. Octave and Muff fuzzes sound best with single coil guitars. Think of most every famous Big Muff player....Jack White, Dan Auerbach, Billy Corgan, Thurston Moore, David Gilmour, J. Masics...all single coils. Humbuckers sound like crap with most fuzzes.
Michael Bell Pretty much the entire genre of stoner metal, which includes some of the best guitar tones I've ever heard, all include fuzz pedals into cranked amps played with humbucker equipped guitars. I've never been a fan of single coils for anything down tuned.
It's difficult to choose when Andy reviews .he could make 6 strands of wet spaghetti and a billiards stick sound like the instrument we've all been longing for ✌️
Its the sound you get for that 1 or 2 seconds right as you turn off a nice and toasty warm tube amp.
Now let's see the Erupter vs. the Acupulco Gold. FUZZ FOR LIIIIIIIIIFE!
TheKevinHermon I've got the AC and I'm absolutely getting this too, what a pair
i really want that to get made. i love my AG but its so noisy sometimes...
Erupter is a great fuzz but the Acapulco Gold is beyond anything.
Erupter can do what the AG can do and more
That is the coolest Epiphone I have ever seen.
Andy - your right hand technique is absolutely stunning and not a pick in sight!
My ears spy a Freaker Wah in that intro, Stellar work fellas! Great fuzz by a great company!!
Love that Epiphone you used at the end.
ET-290. I have one and it's a badass little guitar.

Mason Hoeper The Et-290 is tbe only guitar I regret getting rid of. that thing was amazing, and the pick ups were hotter than the 500t in my Les Paul
BADASS, that's so right. Great tone.
me too! is it a vintage or newer epi?
Just received my Erupter, it lives up to the hype.

That intro was dope!
Don't know, but it was awesome!
Danny Wood ruclips.net/video/uVmPwAx00CA/видео.html looking for feedback
I fucking love this guy
Matías Echazú same
Amazing sounding fuzz. Best Iv heard. Only problem is there's no clean up like the Jimi Hendrix fuzz. Wish it did the clean up thing.
Yeah I feel you but there is other fuzzs for that, this thing does the EQD way...
@@Voodoo66Chile I know , I have the cloven hoof fuzz as well. That cleans up a bit.
Dream Crusher V2 by EQD is the best germanium fuzz face clone out there, the clean up is incredible. Mine never leaves the chain.
One of the most killer intros.
Thanks, that was a fun little jam!!
Andy is awesome! That intro!
no idea, but awesome!
Looks like Andy got some sun in one of the 4 days it's been sunny here in Portland this year xD
Subterranean dwarven foundry!!! Lmao Andy kills me with the Akron, OH line on Earthquaker demos every time
He's reading the EQD copy.
I don't need any more fuzzs...BUT every one of these EQD pedal demos have me sold. I want all of them... sigh.... Well which one do I get first?

Very nice fuzz!
And great demo by Andy, as usual ;)
Awesome playing!
Drums are back!

Been waiting for a proper freaker demo!
I have one of these, I like it alright, but it seems to be extremely partial to the low end. I recently bought a fuzz face mini with germanium transistors and it kicked the erupter off my board for now.
needed one then, still need one now lol
Wicked intro.
Radiohead - Myxomatosis
Guitarisforgrins it's not myxomatosis
Ryan Renteria then what is it?
Guitarisforgrins don't know but it's clearly not myxomatosis
Ryan Renteria lol if you say so (but you're wrong)
what fucking great playing damn
Nice bloom
That's one cool stompbox.
Hi, I think I see on the internet if I'm not mistaken that there are two different colors of this pedal or are they two different pedals?
Love the gut shot nos carbon comp resistors hmmmmm yea

Cool epiphone, Andy.
very good !
damn it sounds great
Trying to decide between this or the Hoof fuzz. Thoughts?
Andy, how does it sound with a bass?
nice watt bass
what a fuzzy fuzz!!!!
5 different vids on this pedal came in on my page today. five
12 on mine, no joke. They must've really went all out on their promotion budget with this one.
Yes, the pedal is cool and the video is great as always … but the Epiphone electric is divine! When and where did you acquire it?
🫶✌️♾️🎸👨🏼⚕️🎸🤔😎😎
Thanks! I got that about a year before this demo, 2016. It’s a 70s MIJ ET-290 with Mojotone Johnny Winter Firebird pups!
@@AndyDemos too cool for school with tones to match. Thank you for your response. 🫶✌️♾️.
awesome
What's that green bass? Looks awesome.
That's a Reverend Wattplower. She's a beauty, ain't she?
I love the sound of this pedal. I'd like to buy one but I can get similar sounds out of my zvex fuzz factory
Get them both
Fantastic :D
Best demos
I seriously HAVE to know what the last bluesy-slide song is
Nothing specific, it may sound like the Yardbirds or Deep Purple to you. It's just some fun in open G!
Sweet Epi ! Sounds awesome. More slide. More slide !
5:53 which guitar model is this?
Is 3:34 a song? Lovely riff
HOLY SHIT!!
Is that just it with a wah at the beginning?
Yes!
What kind of amp would get you close to the tone is this vid?
Being a fuzz, you're gonna use it through a clean amp, the tone is 100% the fuzz. It sounds like this through my bedroom orange practice amp and a half stack
This pedal has the power to atomise people in the street
that intro
But What is that in the intro? is it the earth quaker or an auto wah
45 seconds in it says there is a wah in place after the fuzz
Better factor in buying an EQ pedal with this, I guess ... :P
Where’s andy? I had to come back to watch that intro.
wwwooooowwwwww.....weeeeeooohh woooh weeeh wooooh waaahhh who weeeeeh waeeeooooow woh wwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooh... this thing has got the fuzz flux capacitor to blow the lid off the bloom of the classicness of the fuzz tone-a-matic bias with the low end goin' on yo.
The leads kinda remind me of qotsa self titled lead tones
First song?
confused between this and the dod carcosa
the intro kicks so much ass
Thanks! That came about after playing bass through the Erupter.
I'm a simple man. I see Wilshire. I click play
What is that bass?? the green one?
It's a Reverend Mike Watt Wattplower
thanks ;)
Reverend Mike Watt Wattplower Bass
Sorry I totally did not see that you already answered... I want to get a Club King 290!!!!
I'm not a bass player but I really like that Reverend.
Brand if this green Bass?
Fett Boba Karim was looking for an answer too. 😢
Damn;; I hate bass but this is awesome !! Because of the shape like a guitar
It's a Reverend Guitars Mike Watt signature Wattplower bass
@@Sgrape49jj
Thanks you
Can I use an adaptor on my Erupter? or do i have to use an adapter on the Eruptor?
spellcheck is no help here
Andy the pickless wonder
anybody here compare this to the JHS muffaletta?
Maffaletta does all the Big Muff tones, so very different from this kind of Fuzz Face sound.
Fuuuuck yessss¡
"The right side of the Bias shovels loads of harmonics onto the signal for a burly creamy fuzz tone that tightens up as you increase."
--- I am I watching a TGI Fridays commercial?
First song
0:46
As soon as the wah gets turned off, the tone is off the frikkin hizs-ook
Pretty good but I already have 2 eqdevices fuzzes.
Fuzz always sounds better with single coil pickups
Ashraf Imaduddin Octave fuzzes sound better with humbuckers. Muff style fuzzes, too. And Tonebenders. But otherwise, yeah.
except at 5:48 in this vid...until that sound fades out of existence
Ashraf Imaduddin depends what you're playing.

I love everything that EQD does... but this one sound's like fart 😕
For all that kind of stuff, exist DBA.
Excellent, as always.
Looks like Andy got some sun in one of the 4 days it's been sunny here in Portland this year xD
naw, it's first degree burns from having to reach into the mouth of the volcano
(to retrieve the Glaive)
