I have a yamaha moro 05, would this chip work with it as its the same frame/motor/power supply? Can the bike now actually pedal assist you up to those new unlocked speeds? or is it still based off of your cadence level?
I've heard chipping the motors will brick the motor. ??? This was from a bike shop owner and he said some after 3 unlocks will not unlock the motor and you have to buy a new motor? Do you know of this? I'm picking up a Yamaha next week and I'm curious about this.
@bb7115 any issues ever arise from chipping the yamaha motors one might worry about? How does it affect warranty? I'm very interested just trying to find as much info.
@@Chenko2424 i can't speak for the yamaha motors as I only had bosch motors. Even with bosch motors i haven't had a problem. Technically using any of derestricters will void your warranty. I'm lucky with my local bike shop, they will still honour the warranty. If you need to do warranty work, just remove the device.

@chenko2424 I have a brand new in a box Moro7 Special edition for sale. size Med if you are interested for $5200. I work for a Yamaha dealer and got two bikes, keeping one and selling the other
You stopped where some of us need more info. The manual says it uses the lights button to activate but there is no lights button, only the dimmer display button which has a lights symbol on it. The app only has the walk button listed to activate the derestrictor but my question, what mode does the display need to be in order to function? If the display power assist is zero aka no lights, there is no power to the motor. You would think that it would bypass the display by pressing the walk button (please show), its a mystery to me how know and tell its activated. Can you do your video showing the activation process and what modes the display need to be in for it to work. I have full bluetooth connection paid for the unlocked but its a mystery as to how it actually activates.
Hi Mate, Activation of the Unlock is via the App, When you toggle speed unlock on and off this activates and deactivates the chip. For simplest operation just change the setting shown at 5:08 "Unlock status at turn on" To On then the chip will always be active.
@@EpiceBikes but what mode does the actual display need to be in. It doesn’t seem to bypass the three modes green blue yellow …I’ve done all of that. Must the display be full yellow bars if it’s not aka no lights on the interface then there is no assistance whatsoever. Have you ridden it yet unlocked? If I do all those steps which I have, and you leave if with no power assistance on the display aka no lights there is no power and the chip does not bypass the interface. Mine connects to the blue tooth signal everything like the video except I cannot seem to find anything other than the original interface.
The chip does not make any changes to how the bikes modes operate. The bike will work exactly the same as before the only difference the chip makes is that once its unlocked the motor assistance will no longer stop at 25km/h. The tuning maps change how power is applied but this also does not effect how any of the default bike modes are used.
@@EpiceBikesok I think I get it now. So when in full power mode all yellow bars up if the mapping is set to race it will change in that mode to a race version mapping if that is selected. If it in eco mode same thing. I was just wondering how the custom maps are applied but if it’s all the same just tweaking the power delivery ok.
Do you have video riding it chipped? pls link :)

That's usually the bosch motors, they have an anti tuning software. Other brands don't have the anti tuning

Does the wiring allow for the addition of a throttle?
It is not possible to add a throttle

@@EpiceBikes damn, that's expensive for a little extra speed. I was figuring it would be $50 or so.
would this void your warranty ?
definitely so when your battery burns up remove the chip before you take it in for warranty.
no they say good job and extend it for another 5 years
Lets see someone actually riding it at 75kph
Menwhile I am riding my bike 😂
