Just today Meloni tweeted Ukraine can count on Italian support. It's after the election, all the promises are out of the window. Country with one of the highest debt in EU, currently crippled by highest electricity and gas prices across EU (I think) will pledge the support to a country which is not a EU country, NATO country, a neighboring country, no agreements in place. Let's send more Italian money to Ukraine and if you question it you're inhumane and Russia supporter. But she will talk nicely about family and limiting immigration during blackouts.
No. Being a realist means also seeing that Russia are bullies and if we want to stand up to bullies we need to help as well as spend more on our own defence rather than criticising the USA but depending on them.

China bullies tibet, taiwan, everything locally etc. Media tells you to stand up to bullies, but what these media (which are 99% American owned) don't tell you that USA and China are bullies too and you should therefore focus on them too. Stop buying US products and resources, stop buying Chinese products - good luck with that. Conflict in Ukraine is not about freedom of Ukraine, it is clash zone of two superpowers. Here in EU we are told to stop buying cheap Russian resources (insert noble reasons) and instead become dependent on overpriced US resources.. Open your eyes. As for spending more on defence, we are all in NATO which has 3 nuclear powers in them, that's good enough. Russia has local problem in Ukraine, nowhere else. Spending more on defence when we are deep recession is not currently a good idea.

Despite the rhetoric, Ms Meloni will submit to the EU's freedom of movement policy, and the EU migrant policy will determine Italy's immigration policy. To pretend otherwise is naive.
If you see how Meloni's campaign goes through the months you'll see a campaign that became more and more pro EU.
Honestly I don't care, in my province they(both left and right) had destroied public healtcare so I don't trust anyone and I didn't vote for the first time in my life. Actually in my province the 38,16% of the citizens voted in this elections.
