@@serkd37 thanks a lot Serk! Yeah time is just a little tight at the moment - was still outside but didn’t film much/wanted to release first the summer trip. Cheers Stripey
@@peterq1978 the southern part of the GR54 is imho much easier. In the last ‘episode’ Andy and me will talk about our impressions and other things but the days get much harder in the north regarding the water/food/ascents/descents/…as well as navigation 😉😂 but also much more rewarding in regards of the scenery.
Yeah pretty nice, personally I was a big fan from the more northern part…which isn’t really fair so to say as the whole GR54 is just fantastic. Just such a nice round trip with so many different sceneries 😎
I'd rather hike in wind & rain than 30deg heat....... It's brutal! Looking forward to this series of videos. Nice to see the cone, can't wait for mine :-) Cheers Stripey! ATB
Cheers mate! Yeah the first few days it was hard until the body adjusted. Yeah regarding the cone it looks like that we finally are on the right track - we will post soon and update on it with pictures etc. Thanks a lot Stripey
Brilliant, hard to believe about 15 years ago I used to fly to USA and do thus sort ot thing in Olympic WA, takes me back just heading out with a backpack and going to supermarkets pucking stuff up heading to the " wilderness, " for a week or so finding water and camping spots Brilliant
@@StripeyHatGuyMera Peak sir...in April. Managed to save a lot of money by going direct to Nepalese trekking company which is why it's possible for me to do it.
Stunning! Wish you an awesome trip, hopefully I will manage it as well at some point. Wonder what we are doing next year (we try to meet once a year for a bigger trip), already collecting ideas but Nepal will not work out for us in the near future due to available time and costs 😅

Hi David, the solar panel is from AliExpress for 12 pounds. It worked really well, never needed to ask for any electricity in the huts. Is a fantastic tour, when do you think you will go? ATB Stripey
@@StripeyHatGuy we hope maybe next summer. We just completed the Haute Route and Tour of Monte Rosa this summer. And visited the Écrins after so made us want to do more there
Oh fantastic, the Tour de Monte Rosa is also on my wish list, not sure if we do it or not still collecting more ideas at the very moment for next year. How busy was it on the ‘Monta Rosa’?
@@StripeyHatGuy the Tour of Monte Rosa was not busy at all. We wild camped all the way, though it was tricky near Saas-Fee. The route was spectacular but spoiled quite a bit around the Matterhorn section and into Italy by the ski infrastructure.
@@StripeyHatGuy We also did the Cape Wrath Trail this year and is well worth adding to your list if you haven’t already done it. Our trips are on RUclips too. The TMR will be getting published soon. If you like check out the channel - Five-Foot Lyth.

shame Robin had to pull out early. hope you had a good time, Stripey. certainly looks a fun hike, from both angles.
Fantastic hike! It was for sure not an easy one but worth it, particularly the northern part is outstanding 👍
always is. was that the easier route?

What a beautiful hike my friend, these shots are amazing! 🥾🥾

@@ErnieCG thank you!
Good stuff Stripey , looked really hot one mate . That was unfortunate about the trekking poles getting lost..cheers Stevie
Cheers Stevie! Yeah was unexpected and annoying, worst bit was that on the flight back after finishing the GR54 they lost the trekking poles again 🙈
Great video :)

Cheers, nice to hear you liked it
Haha. I'm on a flixbus watching this after the TMB. I brought small fold trekking poles to go inside the pack on Robins recommendation. Cheers
You can have luck with foldable ones, I lost this way one pair 😉
