Dude is a genius. It makes me happy that he’s got such a dedicated fan base that he can basically do whatever he wants, music wise. He can make music that makes him happy, without worrying about whether he’ll be able to eat next month or not.
He’s also able to do fun things like Current Mood, that thousands of people will tune into, because we just love listening to him talk and joke around. He’s earned his status as a music legend, and there’s no doubt about that. He’ll go down in music history.

Perfect description of John. I always wonder how he finds the proper words, how he uses metaphors and his sense of humour is just something very special. He is so interesting to just listen. I really think that he's not only one of the best musicians of our generation but also one of the most interesting guests on any talk shows and one of the best comedians even though he doesn't have a netflix stand up special (YET) :)

I've been watching quite a lot of John Mayer interviews lately, and it strikes me that every single time he comes up with gems like "Doing good" vs "Being good", or "you don't need to be with someone to be together". Also just heard him use the metaphor of a relationship is like trying to land a space shuttle. I also love how self deprecating he is. This man's wit is so attractive, and then when you add in his songwriting and guitar playing skills... oh my!! Enough said!
I had the honour of attending his concert at the O2 in London a couple of years ago...it was beyond amazing, he is one incredible artist!!!

I love how his interviews always give us some little nuggets of thought to chew on. I particularly like the 'being good' vs 'doing good'. These things are universal and we can all relate to them in our various circumstances. Never seen anyone that puts things into words like him before.

I also hit that point with drinking! you go from Needing it to function....to NOPE, I'm done, I'm changing lanes. It's a series of events that Forces you to change your Mentality and outlook on life.....I was very lucky to get out early in life, many people don't even GET to that point until they're in their 40's, and it's much harder to dump it. When it runs in your family, you gotta shake it early in life.
