This year has seen the most amount of men (18) & women (11) run sub 20/22s in a single season ever! Lyles built on what Kenny B did last year when he ran a record 13 sub 20s races (11 wind-legal) from 16 races with ALL 12 of his 200m races this season being sub 20s races (11 wind-legal). Knighton's 19.49 back in April seems to have provided some additional motivation! Lyles has also been helped by not having to worry about competing in the 100/400m as well like Bolt/Johnson did respectively which has freed him up to concentrate solely on the 200m.
Eiryon Knighton, the young protege, lit a fire under Noah Lyles by running that sub-19.5 race back in April, a fire which keeps burning brighter and brighter! Wow! Best thing for world sprinting since Bolt!
It's based on some formula IAAF put together. Her previous WR of 51.46 only rated 1286 points while her current WR rates 1312 points. Even the 51.41 she ran in Eugene was "only" 1288 points. All the times she won with in the high 51s or low 52s were in the mid 1200 point range.
The improvements in shoe/spike technology means even if a runner run 19.18 to break the WR I would still class Bolts performance as better! People seem to forget about this.
Lyles has been dominating this season, though I think he definitely needs someone to push him because i truly think it's possible for him to atleast get a sub 19.30 time. Knighton needs to get his 19.49 form back to push Lyles even further
And look at the wind --> -0.8 m/s so the only 2nd ever 10.65 or faster into a headwind! Had there been +2.0 m/s she could have run 10.47 - Had there been no wind at all, 10.61!
Laugh out loud to all the haters that said this man was going to be beaten by Knighton at the WC and near future. Where are you guys at now? Knighton will have his time, but that time is not now. I think Lyles can run under 19.30s, but that 19.19s is going nowhere.
> Knighton will have his time, but that time is not now. I think Lyles can run under 19.30s, but that 19.19s is going nowhere Yeah agree, but you gotta admit that Knighton doing the 19.49 so young is signs of greatness in the next decade. And it might have really inspired Lyles to train/focus 100% and get that 19.31. Tbh I think Lyles is pissed off at himself that he keeps running 19.5x times and have only twice been 19.4x or faster.
Did people notice how SAFP ran 10.65 @ -0.8 m/s last night as well? Only ETH has run faster into a headwind at 10.61 in Tokyo. Wind adjusting the 10.65 @ -0.8 m/s --> 10.61 @ +0.0 m/s / 10.47 @ +2.0 m/s
Great job in giving the statistics of Lyle's performances. The comparison to other elite track and field athletes exemplified his excellent season. I look forward to next year watching him build his season as he has done in 2022. World record watch? I feel so.
I like watching your videos, but to be honest I find the wording in your titles very click baiting and misleading. You produce good content, please don't resort to cheap tactics for the sake of monetization. It's really annoying. Not every video has to be sensationalistic.
5:35 you compare Lyles to lots of world class athletes and declare him as the highest overall points scorer but this is flat out not true. Yulimar Rojas would score over 1300 points last year with 4+ jumps and this year also just as many 1300+ as Lyles and she also holds the WR by a huge margin, I know its not easy to convert the points as the triple jump isnt in the heptathlon but the greatest athlete right now is certainly Rojas.
No body will ever better better than usain in my eyes..he did the 100 & 200m..literally broke some many records..9x Olympics gold medalists in 3 back to back Olympics..I don’t see no one doing that again & he had the whole world cheering for him..none of them have that right now..& I can go on & on !
Johan Blake ran his 19.26 for the 200 m at the age of 21 and then after that never got near that time. Going by this, Lyles at 25 has an uphill battle to get anywhere near 19.19.
I will have to look up this scoring system. No offense to Noah Lyles but Duplantis and McLaughlin are constantly winning their events and breaking their own world record so how does Lyles have more points than either one of those two?
Come on, dude is great but it seems like he's recently been around Sha'Carri Richardson a LOT.:)) What else can explain his rather strange behaviour? He's never run close to the current WR but he's already obliterated it ... well, only in his mind, of course:).
In order for Noah Lyles to break Bolt's world record, be will need to run hard from gun to tape. Noah hold backs in the 1st 100m and goes hard after the curve. Unlike Bolt ran hard through the entire race.
Bolt set 100 & 200 records at age of 22 and NL wants to obliterate that 19.19? NL chance to break that record is to have EK by his side toe-toe but EK is still young. Good luck.
When Noah says he wants to obliterate the record he probably means a sub 19.10 and that sounds crazy but Usain’s record will fall and maybe Noah can get that
Knighton being only 18 and running 19.49. Though human can regress, assuming he only progresses, he has 7 years to get as good or even better then Lyles and that's a very long time to get good. It's scary to think he's 5 whole years younger then Bolt when Bolt set 19.19. Knighton has a much better chance to break the world record then Lyles even though Lyles is closer to that possibility at the moment.
Lol the same here lmao. My heart almost sinked in. I immediately ran to watch the full race just to find out that it was all a facade. That 19.19 ain't going nowhere

Lyles has been dominating this season, though I think he definitely needs someone to push him because i truly think it's possible for him to atleast get a sub 19.30 time. Knighton needs to get his 19.49 form back to push Lyles even further
Change the headline, you are too ambitious
If God will. He is doing great.👍
He’s not built like bolt no way he will ever break the record keep dreaming 😂
Shelly Ann just finished her season with her 8th 10.6 performance this year!!!!
*quiet
> Knighton will have his time, but that time is not now. I think Lyles can run under 19.30s, but that 19.19s is going nowhere
Yeah agree, but you gotta admit that Knighton doing the 19.49 so young is signs of greatness in the next decade.
And it might have really inspired Lyles to train/focus 100% and get that 19.31.
Tbh I think Lyles is pissed off at himself that he keeps running 19.5x times and have only twice been 19.4x or faster.
Noah Lyles has 6 (not 5) of the top 20 fastest times ever
To obliterate the world record he will need to run a low 19.1, I don't see that happening. If he does break it I don't see it being lower than 19.17
Did people notice how SAFP ran 10.65 @ -0.8 m/s last night as well?
Only ETH has run faster into a headwind at 10.61 in Tokyo.
Wind adjusting the 10.65 @ -0.8 m/s --> 10.61 @ +0.0 m/s / 10.47 @ +2.0 m/s
You do a Great Job of reporting! Thank YOU!!
Another 0.13 seconds of improvement and he takes Bolts WR. I'd love to see it.
Light years in sprinting
NOT HAPPENING!! Hahahahaha
@Domain Alien Bullshit.....0.13 is EXACTLY how much Bolt beat Michael Johnson's WR by.
@@uprightape100 but that's bolt , ain't no comparation skud .
@@thereeljahjah IL come back to this comment after he breaks it
Do not forget knighton is only 18
No body will ever better better than usain in my eyes..he did the 100 & 200m..literally broke some many records..9x Olympics gold medalists in 3 back to back Olympics..I don’t see no one doing that again & he had the whole world cheering for him..none of them have that right now..& I can go on & on !
Where's the Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce video?
Stay tuned
Knighton isn't competition to Noah L just saying.
Johan Blake ran his 19.26 for the 200 m at the age of 21 and then after that never got near that time. Going by this, Lyles at 25 has an uphill battle to get anywhere near 19.19.
Must’ve forgot Blake got hurt and never really ever came back to 100%. Casual fan 🤡
Yay your back to uploading!
Well there's still some way to go until he reaches Blake or even Bolt. But time is on his side. All the best wishes that he stays injury free.
He can be the next Black Panther 😬
Ong 💯🔥
Man this is bullshit a world record is history if he's fast then break the world record then
Clean runners def don’t rip their uniform off.
He's ruling the track, what a successful year. No competition for him right now
When you talking about ruling the track he need to be like Bolt rules the 100 n 200
10 years later Noah will still be dreaming about breaking Usain Bolt record 😂
Let’s see
200 meter WR is in threat
I think mens sprint events is overvalued in this pointsystems
Gaza mi seh Gaza nation free world 🌎 boss aka vybz kartel
Yeah wait til Eryion Knighton hits 25
Bolt set 100 & 200 records at age of 22 and NL wants to obliterate that 19.19? NL chance to break that record is to have EK by his side toe-toe but EK is still young. Good luck.
A very ben Johnson johnson looking finish
Congrats to Noah on all his wins will he get da goat my homeland runner USAIN BOLT RECORD AT NOW 100 m n 200 m maybe but not
the ranking score are a bit off 19.72 is 1264 and 19.52 is 1297
He’s very fast. But these headlines are silly. He’s the second fastest 200m runner of all time. That’s an amazing feat
Usain Bolt must come back and beat these 200m racers. He can do it !!
no he can't .....thats why he better not come back
please make a video on Bakkali, this guy is unbeatable in 3000m recently….
Cytsfu about Noah lyles
Just a correction at 3:09. It's told 5 of these performances to his name, but 6 times are on screen. (6 is correct)
Waiting for josephus to start dropping insane times as well
These dudes need their own tv channel. I would play it like espn
What is the points system called?
I love this man
19.68 in olympics. 20.38 this season
19.49 in april. Not sub 20 now
90% of athletes on juice and go on and off cycle
Who r u talking about erriyon?
@@joelbotchway5705 and de grass
But i bet 90% of them are juicing
When Noah says he wants to obliterate the record he probably means a sub 19.10 and that sounds crazy but Usain’s record will fall and maybe Noah can get that
Booo. Dream on. Hahaha.. no way
Nope
Lyles is just....
Athlete of the decade.
I doubt 19.19 is his but we’ll see
Doesn't have the 100m speed to back it up. His opening 100m is way too slow so I doubt he'll get it.
Jakob Ingebrogsten video and also Grant Fisher
I think knighton also can break the world record
Geez
Knighton being only 18 and running 19.49. Though human can regress, assuming he only progresses, he has 7 years to get as good or even better then Lyles and that's a very long time to get good. It's scary to think he's 5 whole years younger then Bolt when Bolt set 19.19. Knighton has a much better chance to break the world record then Lyles even though Lyles is closer to that possibility at the moment.
oof
100% stud
Love your content
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ‼️👽🆒
Love you man and welcome back, but now is not the time! We're still getting over Elizabeth's death.
speak for yourself
We dont give a fuck about her death hahaha
You mean Queen Elizabeth. Show some respect.
bruh clickbait. i thought the title said he broke usain's WR and almost shit my pants
Lol the same here lmao. My heart almost sinked in. I immediately ran to watch the full race just to find out that it was all a facade. That 19.19 ain't going nowhere
what is this title?? did he run under 19.19?
