He's a great deadpan comic! So glad to see him in another hit series. His emotionless responses to some of the other actors is hilarious. One of his funniest lines was in the scene where he tells the class about the death of one of the students, when he tells the actor that says he's next 'You probably are".
Winkler is and had been great in anything he ever did as long as his natural humor and charm are allowed to come through. He's much like Shatner in that regard and is a treasure.
Or Janice - "Look at you. You're so little. I could rock you like a baby." Gene - "I would like you to rock me like a baby." Janice - "I could drop kick you right in the middle of the restaurant. Everybody would applaud and then I would beat the fuck out of you." Gene - "And I would let you do it."
I lol'd when he said so confidently that he was 47. Even better when later on in episode 7 you see his DOB written underneath his mugshot as 02/05/1947
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LEGEND (AND NICEST GUY IN HOLLYWOOD) THAT IS HENRY WINKLER ON RECEIVING HIS FIRST EMMY AWARD FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES.
@@robertcook5049no there’s got to be more, in my lifetime he was the Bluth family’s lawyer Barry on Arrested Development(yes actually the characters name)
I’ve never seen this but looking after I saw an interview. He seems so relaxed and calm in his self which I think makes it work even more. Plus the coffee line is great 😂
There’s a scene where winks character interrupts Barry and the woman rehearsing a scene thinking it’s the bathroom and he has pants ready to go down cause how bad he needs to go and realizes there doing a bad scene in a bad time the movie doubt and they go back and forth till he gets fed up it’s literally the funniest shit I’ve seen
To paraphrase a conversation involving another great Henry Winkler character: "No 47 year old should look like that." "No 47 year old _does_ look like that."
It makes me sad watching this video because it reminds me of how amazing this show was before it took the inferior style and tone turn for season 3 and 4. If only the show stayed like this for all four seasons.
Maybe I'm missing something, but his relationship with Janice always kinda rubbed me the wrong way. It never came off to me as sweet or endearing, more creepy imo
"I'm 47 years old." I almost spit out my coffee. He is BRILLIANT!!
Lmao
btw his real age is 74 so when i saw that it was even funnier
Same here. That Emmy was so richly deserved. He absolutely kills this role, and Berg/Hader were geniuses for casting him in it.
the best,
Yeah that got me pretty good
He got the Emmy!!! He freaking deserved it
Really?! If that is true, I could not agree more.
When ever he talks he steals the show
He’s 100% the nerdy art teacher.
"You're the detective, and i got the confession".. what a goddamn legend.
Rizz off the charts

Best part is 0:52 when he puts the gun away. He's fucking epic.
PLS- I LOVE HOW SUBTLE EVERYTHING ABT THIS SHOW IS
Is that the loaded gun he brought to the Full House audition?
@@DGNYY27 it was the pantomime of it yeah lmao.
The Rip Torn gun that killed Barry

Sadly, this isn't the first time a student of mine has been gunned down in the street. And it won't be the last.
WHERE WAS THAT SCENE?
Jesus Christ, I forgot about that one 😂😂😂
Or

After the final episode I gotta say Gene was right
“I’m 47 years old”
-someone who has clearly been 47, several times before.
I lol'd when he said so confidently that he was 47.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LEGEND (AND NICEST GUY IN HOLLYWOOD) THAT IS HENRY WINKLER ON RECEIVING HIS FIRST EMMY AWARD FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES.
I bet the first time Henry Winkler said "let the cat out" Bill Hader laughed his ass off
Whaaat? Bill Hader never breaks character
Barry is awesome because of how honest and straightforward they are about what goes on behind the scenes in the actual film/TV/stage world.
I think Winkler threw himself into this character more so than he's ever done before.
He only has 2 notable characters. Fonzie and this
It got him his first ever Emmy! He was perfect as Gene❤
@@robertcook5049no there’s got to be more, in my lifetime he was the Bluth family’s lawyer Barry on Arrested Development(yes actually the characters name)
Winkler is brilliant
“If that Chicken á la King is not the best piece of poultry you’ve ever had in your mouth you can kick me right in the genitals.”
the poultry/genitals line, wheezing laughing
That offer got her motors running alright! Fonzie knew exactly what to offer her!! Hehehe
Oh snap man love your vids
After all these years,
Fonzie still got it!😎🔥
"--But... I think we can all agree that if you kill _outside_ of war...
...you're a fuckin' psycho. I mean, _then_ you're IRREDEEMABLE."
Awe man! He’s amazing 😂love him
I love the show and I love Henry Winkler so much.
henry winkler is an America treasure period!!!
@3:30 Watch Paula Newsome break from behind when Winkler hits "forty-seven"
I wish you included him talking about doing long day's journey into night with cokeheads.
Yes! They got it down to like 45 minutes
That "kaplunk" at 0:15 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve never seen this but looking after I saw an interview. He seems so relaxed and calm in his self which I think makes it work even more. Plus the coffee line is great 😂
"We're going right into it, ok!" :D
God the scenes with Gene and Janice hurt more every time i re-watch them
You're the detective and I got the confession. ROFL
Kerplunk , I hear Batman as an elderly man who's finally going toward alzhimers when he talks lol
I hear Peter Falk as the older Columbo, at least in some of the lines. Some of the same gestures, too.
His broken Mr. Cousineau is somehow even more genius.
Punished Gene
Phenomenal performance
Jesus he murdered it
Not sure if everything came out about Janice yet, but it’s going to be heartbreaking when he and Barry have their final conflict...
He's amazing. But where's that scene where he auditions for some minor acting role?
It's at the very beginning.
I mean the actual audition, not just them saying hello.
@@NickVarley Fair enough
General John Archer Lejeune / luh jern (CMC XIII )
would be proud of this fine gentleman.
The casual confidence he has saying “I’m 47 years old.”
The love for Gene is strong!! He is no dog sh!t
He deserves his own spin off
No that’s corny
@@psilva2462 I'm for it

Haha how he spins the story of the gun he carried to the audition…season 3 ep3 haha spoiler alert
they wasted him in season 4.
He’s stealing Snagglepuss’ act
“They always look like landscape when close up, nope you’re looking at balls”
