To add to everyone mentioning anime with similar imagery, Gintama's 18th ending "Balance doll" not only has the mirror effect, but also shows the salt formations at 1:12 in the beggining before the camera pans up. For the longest time thought it was weirdly drawn water caustics before I found out about this place
Sometimes it rains so much that even the 4x4 can't enter because it is unsafe for the cars, try to go at the beggining or at the end of the raining season (before it gets crowded is better). Getting the perfect mirror+stars+sunset is a mix of lucky, good planning, and choosing the good guides and drivers.
Great video!! Would be interesting to find out what it’s really like to be there on a day like that. I can imagine it’s more crowded in some areas than pictures show, or maybe a big percentage is being industrialized now
It's not named Sailor de Uyuni... Learn to pronounce foreign words ;-) This one is actually easy. It's like Sal in salmon and ar like the letter R. Great shots and an informative clip otherwise ;)

Infinit azure stage from Tekken 0:20

Leave that place alone forget the lithium

Thanks Sean!
Great stuff!!! I love how you showcased the Salar de Uyuni, do you mind if I share it?
thank you, sure thing!!
People dont realise how impossible this huge reflection is on a sphere.....
Because it's not impossible
I’m planning a trip there, but I really want to go when the salt is reflective. So it depends on the weather that day or the time of day?
Yeah and also rain helps!

The rain is in the summer time, in the winter it is dry.

Ty for explaining
When is the best time to visit? Thanks
During the rainy season, that's when the water that pools on the surface creates the most clear mirror
February march😅
Seeing people taking salt blocks kinda makes me sad I wanna see it in real life but I don’t wanna see it mined
I am gonna invite my friend who plays tekken to fight each other here
Maravilloso
There’s one of these in Australia, called Lake Tyrrell, it’s only recently started getting attention
Just googled it, that place looks mega!
No tiene comparación para nada

sah-LAHR, not SAY-lahr, please
looks like the earth is actually flat eh?
😂 are you serious or what???
Lol
it does look flat. wheres the curve since its more than 10k km because if there was a curve there would be no reflection
People are waking up. Jesus is the way.
If it was flat youd be able tp see the edge of the lake from anywhere
