I have an 07 Camry and since Toyota replaced the pistons at 100K miles its been a great car. Has 237K miles now and runs great. The water pump failed before I bought the car at 70K, but the replacement pump is still on there. The engine is better than its reputation.
I had the very same problem with my 1AZ, the younger sibling of 2AZ. Engine abruptly siezed, overheated so bad that the headbolts stripped. Ignorantly attempted to restore it but failed. Only Learned months later that once an aluminium block has overheated, the engine is essentially kaput. Ended up buying another engine albeit used. So far so good, fingers crossed.

Got an 08 camry with 327k miles, it doesnt consume oil
🤔Mine over Heat with no reason, not showing temperature rise, but the engine is like an oven, water level is fine 👌
