Loved your MRE story. It reminded me of when I was a child and my stepfather was in the Coast Guard. We often had to eat commissary no label canned food which my brothers and sisters and I hated (especially the canned plums). I realize now we were probably lucky to have it. And I bet more than one of us remembers using the oven for heat. Really enjoyed the jewelry making too.

I love your story. I remember when we 1st married in 1976, we had a box turned over with a towel on it for our tv stand. Lol Some of my favorite memories was cooking on our little hibatchi listening to Bob Seger. This is a beautiful necklace and one of my favorite boxes.😊
Beautiful piece! I too have so many ideas and no time to bead! I opened the box and immediately had favs and some I paused and need to let ideas come. I really am not a fan of rose go,d and those hematite beads, at least in my box, where overwhelmingly bright! They may end up in a bead soup mix…. Only time will tell. Or as Wendy would say… oh I’ll have to think on that one and come up with something. I think those beads would be the ones that she would say… they really don’t go with the rest as they are so bright! Keep up the good work, you are getting better with staying in frame… practice makes perfect! Keep going! Fun memory from me. My husband asked me to marry him over the phone while I was eating my lunch. I packed us ham sandwiches, orange wedges and Oreo cookies….. we try and have that lunch each year to celebrate the way he asked me. Quirky and silly but us! We celebrate 32 years married on 10/26!
Shelves on the walls near your work space...I use vials and clear jars (plastic and glass) to store my beads. They don't need to be very deep of shelves, that way your beads don't get buried to the back. Hang them close together vertically and you can store a lot of beads. I have small drawers in a plastic box to store my findings...label by metal color. Temu has a lot of great storage drawers that won't take up a lot of space on your workspace, plus they are stackable.
I love fall colors AND it's a cha-cha pendant! Win-win! I love hearing your stories, and that kind of sharing is what makes us a community. This design is so versatile. I like the shortened version that you showed. It brings the focal up into the focal range. But I know my mom would have loved the longer version. Thanks for sharing another lovely piece. I like making jewelry for my friends and family for gifts. I have sold very little. I have one friend that really appreciates her jewelry package in the mail.

Hi Jody! Your necklace is absolutely adorable!!! I love how all of the beads jingle as it moves around. I also love the length. I like to wear several necklaces together in different lengths, so adding that green aventurine leaf as a pendant on a shorter necklace to wear along with this longer one would be so cute! By the way, I live in Arizona and we do not change time here. But I was raised in California where we did change our clocks. I so much prefer NOT changing the clocks. My best friend lives in Texas and she always struggles with changing the clock in her car because it's so complicated. But what a pain in the patooty to have to go around and change every clock in the house including stove, microwave, etc. It's so much nicer not to have to change the time of day. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth! Thank you for your video!
😂 that was so funny. I knew a woman who had 2 sets of clocks in the house and put them away when the time changed, and got the ones with the right time out. Talk about a funny story. She went crazy every time trying to figure out how to change the clocks in all the appliances 😂
I just moved into a tiny home, and I don't have anywhere near what you all have, but I do keep just tiny containers of what I use the most in a tray and the rest of them in a drawer, and refill them as needed...
I use the small containers that Wendy suggested from Harbor Freight. I cut the tag off of the beads and place them inside the containers. I also have the little totes Wendy showed with the little bottles from Artdot. Each tote has certain items in them I bought 4 and got 1 free. Still have more beads then those 5 can hold. One day I will get it all together. But til then I am making do with what I have.
Artdot has wonderful organizational things. I actually saw Wendy using them in one of her videos and immediately ordered the same one she had. I absolutely love them. Very neat. I've ordered 3 more.
I saw a few of her videos where she talked about her purchases from artdot. After seeing how she organized so many beads I ended up ordering from them and I love it. I have a ton of beads so I need all the help I can get.
Thank you for picking up the mantle for Wendy. You have a compassionate heart. Tip I learned from Louisa for making many dangles: take the head pin and create the component without making the final loop. Cut to length, then cut more pins to the same length as the master pin. I do this to make cha cha bracelets.

As for odd numbers, it’s part of art theory called the rule of odds. The thought behind it is even numbers your mind finds continuity and a place to rest. With odd numbers your brain keeps looking for that missing piece which makes your eyes continue to wander around the piece trying to find a resting place that doesn’t exist. So yes, odd numbers are a great thing!
The Artdot system with the bottles and drawers work great, I've ordered 3 different sets from them. I have limited horizontal space but I've started using the walls with shelves and pegboard.

I am loving this box! I tend to put fall colors with rose gold. I love your bead trays. I hate the little triangle trays. That large rose gold leaf is stunning! So are the little ones. I am a newer beader and I need help using spacers and bead caps. I love look but never think to use them. Perfect chain for hanging lots of drop leaves, that was my first thought. Trauma definitely makes you grow as a person. I will pray for your strength to get through your situation. 🙏MRE's are definitely under appreciated by most people, even though they have greatly improved in the last decade. I have lived mainly on ramen noodles at a time when we had about $20 a week for food for two. But you get by through the grace of God! I thought you we going to hang the leaf from the toggle. Gorgeous necklace. No at all what I had in mind. Can you still get this box? I must have one. I store by bead type in little zip bag of color and type in compartments.Odd numbers are very pleasing to the eye. I like it hung a little higher on you. Please just leave your nails natural. I am not able to concentrate on tutorials with black nails flashing around. Also, extremely long nails. Shorter nails make working with small beads and findings so much easier. Just my opinion. I think you are doing fantastic! Your joy comes shining through!
