I usually root for the off brands and new types of broadheads but soon as i seen them i was like yea thats a disaster waiting to happen and sure enough it bombed in my opinion! Thanks for another great real test mr Lusk
I think the ring was meant to brake off after cutting a circle on the hide and skin. Not allowing wound to close. Afterward, it would act like a regular fixed head.
Yep. It's in the pile of heads for my next batch of testing. I still have another 19 heads already completed and not yet edited/posted, then the second batch is up.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures can’t wait! I just ordered two packs of the 100 grain crocs for this fall I’m excited to see you test them. I’ll have the crocs and sawtooth A2’s in my quiver! Thanks John have a blessed day
I would be curious to know the penetration and flight test results without the ring like you did the durability test. Just to see if the broadhead has bad penetration and flight or if it's just the ring that slows it down and makes it unstable
Hello Mr. Lusk I was wondering if I sent you a pack of cheap broadheads I you would test them? I am wanting to see how some of these cheaper broadheads work compared to known brands. Thank you Kendall
Sure. I do that every once in a while. I just need 3 new heads to do a test...and as much information about them as possible. My mailing address is 2502 Sun Grove Rd, Melissa, TX 25454
It is cool to see new broadheads. But it did not fly to well and i would have to pass on this broadhead. I will stay wt the Magnus buzz cut stinger 4 blade. That is a great broadhead imo
Could be good for jack rabbit or small games but i would never even try on a big game, let's be honest that's not ethical at all... John thanks for this test as always
Is there anyone that actually thought this head was going to be durable or even a good idea? They say that looks can be deceiving but in this case they told the story before it happened.
Exactly, like why even try to produce this thing. Paper thin blades, small cut, can’t shoot it into a foam target, like what the heck!?! And that flight🤔
@@Tyler_Lyons agreed! I try and give everything the benefit of the doubt but just looking at this thing had me scratching my head saying wtf lol. Sadly enough I’m sure someone somewhere will hit the woods with it
@@keystonestatebowmen3128 oh gosh I didn’t want to think about that😣 I can’t even imagine taking this out to the woods and shooting something. That’s scary and not very ethical.
Wow what a pile! The ring looks like it would stay in the animal and risk cutting you during gutting, Since it comes off So Easy . I think it’s possibly dangerous to the hunter. I deem it unfit for my quiver
Testing protocol is fine, it was the test subject that was lacking. Shrapnel does not have a good track record for clean animal kills--that broadhead is crap.
John I love your content but using a bolt compared to an arrow for broadhead flight isn't a fair comparison. A bolt can shoot broadhead different than a regular arrow. You must realize that. 😢
Yes of course. I mentioned that in the 2024 Process video. The point is that I have much more control with the crossbow. I use a heavy bolt so it flies at compound bow speed. But it is mounted to a BOG tripod and uses a scope so I can be extremely consistent and accurate. I use the same bolt for the field point and the broadhead. The only thing that changes is the broadhead. So you can see the effect of the Broadhead on the flight. That is the only variable that changes. it does not mean that I could not get a brought it to fly well out of a compound bow. But it shows the effect of that specific broadhead on flight. There is much less human error than there is out of my vertical bow. and interestingly enough, the scoring is actually remarkably similar to the testing when I use my vertical bow. But it gives me more confidence in the consistency and lack of human error.
these companies need to be publicly shamed for putting out a product like that. Either they don't test them or they do and don't care about the results
It would help. But the circular blade itself breaks so easily. That's a lot of impact to have zero gradual penetration--it just gets hit all at once. If it's a softer medium, it's okay, but if it's a bit harder...
While it's an interesting design, IMO the execution is just too fragile for hunting anything but small game as it could not be depended on to adequately penetrate large game
Killer instinct cross bows are ok but I'll never ever own another. Their customer service is non existent especially when there limbs start splintering you get what you pay for including 0 customer service

Definitely different and innovative just not something any serious hunter would ever put in their quiver
More of a gimmick than innovative
:)
did exactly what I thought it would. Great job once again
Thanks Chris :)
That was a fun one 🎉
Right? thank you
I'm starting to think this head came from TEMU
I got it on Amazon. I've tested another head by them that was equally "interesting" -- the Mohican Sneak.
i have some from a company called Bullet Hole archery i do believe. Back in the 90's. The ring is placed inside the blades though.
I think the ring was meant to brake off after cutting a circle on the hide and skin. Not allowing wound to close. Afterward, it would act like a regular fixed head.
Yep. I shared that as a possibility. They just don’t mention that.
John Can you test the New 100 grain Croc from crimson talon for us?? (Right bevel) thank you for all you do!
Yep. It's in the pile of heads for my next batch of testing. I still have another 19 heads already completed and not yet edited/posted, then the second batch is up.

I'm sure it would perform like any other topics 3 blade in that regard. The ring does jack it up.

Ive seen these tested in gel, and they broke in gel, so that tells you everything you need to know. The ring came off.
The blade broke when it hit the MDF right before the gel. It never made it into the gel.
Good job
Thank you
That was cool ty
:)
Am I crazy if I'm here wondering how that would perform with better materials?
Yeah. Some say it’s designed to just punch a hole then break off and go more deeply.
Well, that was interesting.
:)
looks like the razor ring
Yep
Would be interesting to see how it handled a carcass. But it performed about as expected
Yep. I imagine it will take out a nice chunk of tissue on impact. I sure wouldn't want to get shot with one.
It failed completely on the very first test. If your arrow doesn't hit what you're aiming at the rest don't matter.
Yep...not saying I could not get them to fly out of my vertical bow...but this was the flight out of the standard, benched crossbow.
I didn’t know they still made those.
:)
I am new to bow and crossbows. do your scores for the broad heads crossover to the crossbow?
I am testing the broadhead, not the projecting device--so the tests are valid for anything that is shooting them.
Thank you for the reply. That helps me greatly.

@@LuskArcheryAdventures Thanks for that explanation. I understand what you're saying. It makes sense. Keep up the good work.
If these flew well they'd be a good option for turkey.
Maybe...but I'd be very concerned about it not penetrating a wing butt or tail quills.
I think that would be a good turkey head
Not accurate
I'd be very concerned about it penetrating thru the wing butt or tail quills.

I've heard some people using them effectively
So... this ones a... "no"?
:)
no thanks lol... i like the concept, but i dont think its gonna penetrate much

The ring needs to be spot welded to the blades
It would help. But the circular blade itself breaks so easily. That's a lot of impact to have zero gradual penetration--it just gets hit all at once. If it's a softer medium, it's okay, but if it's a bit harder...
I can't imagine this broadhead being around for very long with all these faults ... back to the drawing board ... 😕

If the broadhead don't fly, the animals don't die... My test would have ended with the flight. Hehee.
