Can't wait to see this when if finally comes out. Being an old school deejay, lack of a motorized platter on the Rane Four was the only thing preventing me from getting it.
While I've become very comfortable with static platters on DJ gear. Coming from learning on turntables.... NOTHING beats the feel of a motorized platter for me.

I've been using my Numark NS7 III for 8 years now and it's still going strong. Everyone slept on that controller and now everyone is suddenly losing their minds over these new controllers with moving platters. Y'all are late to the game lol.

I own a prime 4 and love it... but Rane made something I've been wanting for soo long...finally I get .motorized platters. The feel of moving parts again.

This is definitely something I’m gonna to consider. I’m in the market for a new controller and was thinking between the Rev7, Rane Four & Rev5. The Performer could be the sweet spot. It’s just getting used to that 2K price. Jeez
Maaaaaaaaaaannnnnn!!!!!!! I just got in trouble with my FLX10 for watching this video as well!!!!! I felt like I was being watched, so I'm going to wait and see what this all brings. but let's say I was getting this, it would have to be right when its released because I know it'll be backordered within hours just like the FLX10. I purchased my FLX10 right when it was announced for it to be released and I got mine in 3 days.Soooooo I know Nick, Mojave, Phil etc probably have one now and doing a review to release in about a week or so.

It’s a great controller so I don’t know what you’re talking about, it does what it does. But I understand it’s not for everyone.
Wish it had the mixer layout of the 70. But I get it there might not be enough real estate that way with 4 input faders.
I wonder if we could just replace the touch platters with spinning platters I would do it I own the Rane 4 already I’m sure it could be done easy
This is an answer to a prayer - a 4 deck motorized DJ controller with onboard effects and stem separation. Now truthfully, my preference would be for an NS7 IV, but I’ve been educated that that’s not going to happen. This is perhaps the next best thing.

It’s going to be similar to a REV7 but with 4 channels
From a manufacturing standpoint, it doesn't make sense for Rane to have 2 different body's for essentially the same controller. The performer is going to replace the Rane one so that way they can use the same chassis for both controllers.
Also if you look at the mixer section, it's about the same size as a battle mixer. Making it battle style would make it extremely tall. The Rane four is already a large controller.
I am a vinyl DJ and hated the choices in Controllers! The Rane One was close with Moving Platters but only 2 Channel just l Pioneer did. The FLX10 was a great advance with display in jogs and 4 Channel with multiple software choices. No moving faders though. With this new Rane with hardware effects I can also hookup my turntables and have both Worlds. Also DVS if I don't like the feel of the platters. I am in

If I had to guesstimate a price point, when you take into account The price of The Four and the price difference between InMusic's offerings on the Denon DJ side....the price gap between the static platter & motorized versions of Denon's media players has always traditionally been $200-300 between the 2 versions. SC2900 vs SC3900, SC5000 vs SC5000M, SC6000 vs SC6000M. So if they follow the same business model...$1799 sounds about right if they want to go in for the kill and be the Rev 7 killer
If they can get it at/around that price... I think they have a hit on their hands for SURE!

It’s most likely because they weren’t playing anything yet because it was before the performance!
I’d be interested in anything that’s standalone 4 channel with performance pads, still got eyes on prime 4+ for the moment, opus just missing too much functionality for me sadly at that price range.

swap out faders for rotaries, allow phono inputs on ch 1 & 4.....perfect house DJ setup!

The Rane one is still solid, but honestly I’d probably wait to see what the price of this new controller is going to be.

Seems they were waiting for Rane Four sales to wane to leak this, and most likely sooner than they’d hope, hence the $200 markdown on the Four now.
That sale price makes A LOT of sense!
i'm looking forward to the performer because it has the traditional pitch setup in the proper location vs the rev 7, actually the pitch setup in Battle mode on the rev 7 is pretty much what stopped me from buying it..me i just prefer the pitch setup the traditional way. not battle mode

I have the NS7II also. Best controller ever in my opinion. Unfortunately, Serato stopped supporting it past version 2.37, so no Stems.

What have we here? Could that half-time shout-out to Rane indicate a changing of the guard? Did they choose Rane over Alpha-Theta? Will that change the perception... (if it's good enough for the Super Bowl, it's good enough to be the industry standard...)?
Honestly it don't really move the excitement needle for me it was kind of expected that RANE would release a controller to try and match up to the REV7. 4 channel mixers have never been a must for my dj career I get the whole stems thing but in my opinion it just makes the face of the mixer to cluttered. I'm not really a fan of the traditional controller layout having the platters not in line with the crossfader isn't ideal for a Turntablist .Cue points under the platters is odd and the pitch slider on the left side could potentially get in the way. I guess I'm just more of a fan of the battle style layout. This RANE controller is pretty much a clone with two extra channels so for me I will just stick to the REV7. I will say hopefully Rane made the faders more user accessible for cleaning and maintenance that is the only flaw Pioneer has on the REV7. I'm sure club DJ's are going to be salivating over this bad boy….

I really don't know about this... i was hoping for an updated rane one. Didn't like the rane four that much. Motorized jogs won't change that, especially since I prefer the platters on the rane one over the ones on the rev7. The fucked up thing with the rane one was the crossfader... I wouldn't even complain about the lack of hardware effects. I can DJ well without them... but the long ass cut-in on the crossfader (even with the sharpest settings on the hardware AND in the software) was just something I had forgotten about since innofaders had been invented.
AND I really hope they do not call it the PERFORMER.
You can mod the standard fader in rane one by opening it up and adding additional washers to the top rail. It brings the dead space (lag) down to very near 0mm. The only issue is that the curve is still limited by serato and while quite sharp, it's not inno fader sharp. Useable tho!
A RUclipsr said he has one but he said he cannot show it but he said the platters are not completely moving I hope that that’s not the case cause that will be a failure The Dj lab was was where I got the info
Absolutely not! As you can see, they're just chasing behind Pioneer! The Rane 1 is great for scratching and that's it! The pitch on both sides is off, exactly the same. Have to adjust the sliders halfway up to guess where it should be at the right pitch! Bought the Rev7 last year... Absolute beast and rightfully the standard by which others chase behind! The mixer, the fader, the onboard effects, sound quality... It blows away anything Rane can come up with, plus the ability to scratch is top-notch! But, if folks want to keep waiting for Rane to catch up and get it somewhat right again!

I own a Rane 4 I’ll say one of my jogs response is messed up not even one year old So Rane will be pushing this out and most likely stop producing the Rane 4 seeing there are a lot of people who own one with issues. I say to Rane fix the issues with the previous model before you bring out a new one.Quality control should be number one. This Rane 4 Controller was my first product from them and my last I usually only purchase Pioneer ,my mistake ,but I will go back to pioneer due to issues with this unit.

When the guy Is moving the platter back and forth in the leaked video, the digital display marker looked like it was lagging a bit.
I’m sure Rane will release this without enough quality control testing just like the Rane 4 No Thanks

Rane four is about $2k. This new one will cost about 4-5k or more!
Seems like rane is moving backwards instead of forward besides of the on board effects.

I’m curious to see try this new motorized platter in person. Could be the basis of a new Rane Twelve.
Rane better give this machine with the option of a traditional vynil design jog that is on the Rane One. It is the real re-incarnation of the vynils. I can confortably live without jog display. Jod display is for new age DJs who cant anything on their own and need multiple duplicated support... This does not even feel like it should have moving platters... it is a terrible immitation and vulgarisation of a moving platter.

Rane Four still has alot of issues. They better clean up their act.
Yeah the filter pots are leaking on the one I use and are unusable after 2 months of owning it along with the jog wheels becoming more and more unresponsive this controller may fix that who knows 🤷
@@NICKRICHTEA I have one of the first Rane Fours that was out in the market... got it back in January '23. If you have issues with yours, it's less than a year and under warranty, call them. Rane's CS is some of the best
Two important things about your commentary:
- You cannot use the hardware effects on the Rane Four without having a computer plugged in. Only the filter works. 😢
- Rane quality on the ONE and FOUR is poor compared to the 72 and needs more love.

Numark released a four channel controller with 7” motorized platters, screens that shows Serato waveforms, and now supports STEMs, back in 2015. There’s nothing innovative about this. Come on inmusic, step up your game!

Game Changer inded but this just circles back to the point I was trying to make with the whole Serato acquisition by Alpha Theta thing. The success of Rane is reliant on Serato. The 2 brands are synonymous with one another. What's Rane without Serato?
Rane is an InMusic brand, who are pursuing legal action against Alpha Theta & trying to block the acquisition and rightfully so. Who's to say that Alpha Theta won't try to make Serato exclusive to gear under their umbrella or only Alpha Theta gear will unlock full version of Serato & everyone else gets Lite? Then everyone else has to pay a steep premium to get full version of Serato. Which in that case, there's no incentive to purchase anything outside of Alpha Theta. Nobody would be able to compete & without competition Alpha Theta has no reason to be on their A game. They could theoretically regurgitate the same gear with minimal updates and innovation as if they weren't already doing so.
Look at the bigger picture.
That's a lot of if's. Only time will really tell.
Also if you take a hard look back over the last decade or so, the cutting edge features have rarely come from Rekordbox or Serato. The innovation has mostly been Virtual DJ and Algoriddim.
Much like Apple vs Android, both Serato and Rekordbox usually wait awhle to add new features that VDJ or DJay Pro AI add.
