I myself don't think that this kills the REV 7. I believe that it is a great comparison option for Rane vs Pioneer. I'm still Riding with REV 7 IMO. Great review My Guy!
Nick, thnx for the review. I was waiting for this: Four channels and rotating platters. Currently I have a pioneer ddj 1000 srt. I was hoping for the Flex-10 to have moving platters, but it doesn't. So I decided to wait. And now Rane did it. I am sold. Definitely buying it.
I want all of this in a standalone with 12" platters, the ability to put efx on stems and all the bells and whistles of the Prime 4+. Yes, all of them lol... Until then I'm sticking with the Prime 4+. I know no one reading this cares. But a man can dream.
This is what I was thinking. My P4+ will be used and abused but if I ever run into an issue with it or decide to switch, this would be the next best option
I am so excited to see that the Rane Performer is now in the review/marketing phase. Since there will be no NS7 IV being released, this is the next best thing.
I am so glad I subbed to your channel a few months ago Nick, truly high quality content you’ve been posting!! The DJ world thanks you fr 🔥🙌 This review came exactly when I needed it
Thanks Nick, really helpful to have the camera on the gear, as you interact with it. I'd only ask you to slow down sometimes to really demonstrate the features so a viewer has time to see and take in what's happening and feel it more through the youtube screen.
This video makes my 3rd launch review that I've watched for opinions, followed by CT & MJaxx. You managed to give the scoop in almost half the running time and a great video too, I should add! I have been waiting for a controller with these features since the Rane One, which had no onboard Fx, the Rev 7 was tempting, but waited for Rane to respond, and we got the R-FOUR! So this version seems to be Spot-On in terms of the boxes that needed checked. Currently use Rane 12s & 70 mixer!
The RANE PERFORMER looks like a beast. Those high-torque platters and OLED displays are seriously impressive. Stem splitting is a game-changer for remixing on the fly. Nick did a great job highlighting the controller's potential. I'm curious how this compares to other high-end controllers in terms of workflow and integration with different DJ software.
Nick I just bought one, thanks for the video.. I like the dual mics. I have the Rane four and can''t wait to take this out to my next wedding this weekend.
Thanks Nick! One of my technics 1210’s motors is on the way out after 200 weddings and I’m thinking this is the upgrade from my rane sixty-two. Keeping the technics for life tho! Cool vids on IG by the way.
I just purchased one...can't wait. I had the Rane Four but always thought, something is missing...coming from Technics 1200s, it was the moving platters. Great review, Nick.
YOHHHHHH! I'm totally sold. Not going to lie. I love my Pioneer but I'll be objective here. The stem split feature and 4 channels did it for me. Not going to lie to myself at this point. "All I want for christmas is you (Rane Performer)..."
I gotta be honest with you I bought an FLX6GT to practice on because the pro djs I play with both use DDJ 1000s. So my plan was to upgrade to an FLX10 soon to get more used to the set up but holy shit that Rane Perfomer looks so gorgeous dude. I’m torn now.
Go with your original plan. I can almost guarantee something will come out again in a year and it will make you want to buy it. Sometimes i think too many options aren't necessarily better.
Looks cool! I haven't been terribly fond of the direction Rane has gone since the inMusic bought them and given aftermarket prices on used MP2015s, I am clearly not the only one who prefers the old Rane. Doubtlessly this is out of my current budget, not to mention I've tried flagship controllers (e.g. DJ808) and they just weren't my cup of tea. I'd probably still have fun playin around on that; but since I doubt I'll ever have one of my own, thanks for the run down!
IMO Numark was years ahead.... until got bought, chopped and digested by inmusic corp. thats when NS7 technology was passed to Rane, thats why Numark no longer makes any motorized controllers. Rane 12 and Rane One are both Numark's bastard children.
A very masterful controller but honestly looks very overwhelming and I've been on a ddj1000 since 2018 0r 19...i would have to be obsessed with that thing to learn most of its capabilities
I like Rane .I have the Rane 12 ,72,mk 2s set up but if i was gigging this would be my workhorse though i might need a dude to save my back.I will take a look at this bad boy at Klangfarbe as soon as they have one just to try it out
I wish they’d used the same little screens over the cues over the effects buttons since you can remap them. I have the R4 and forget where some of my lesser used remapped effects are. Minor gripe but both the Four and the Performer are solid af.
The stems features you listed as "Exclusice to this device" you have been able to do with virtual DJ for over a year. IE effects on seperate stems of the same song, stems control on knobs etc.
I have the Rane one the thing I don't like is the aux and the mic they don't have a mid its only Low AND highs this controller looks nice I prefer a 4channel mixer
Did Rane actually make the channel faders replaceable from the top of the controller like on their 72 mixers?! If so, this is truly a game changer for me with build quality!!!!
My main gripes with this Rane Performer: Excessive amount of buttons/knobs that could easily be dual function. It’s busy and overwhelming..Rev7 is cleaner, more streamlined, and battle style. I’ll keep my Rev7 ☺️
You absolutely murdered this review buddy. Nice work! Hopefully they don’t make you pay for that controller. Because I’m pretty sure you just sold quite a few 😂
Hey Nick. Been waiting for this beast so I can retire my aging SZ. A couple of the SZ features I love that I can't see at a glance. Is there direct pad access to FLIP. I use that loads and its easy on the SZ. Also, not such deal breakers, but any kind of quick track scanning or grid controls?
Excellent review. This thing looks amazing. Personally the Rev 7 is still better, but mainly due to the layout and fact I’ve been Dj’ing on pioneer mixers for ever. But man the features of this Rane seem epic.
BTW... I traded in my Rev 7 for the Performer and could not be happier... Dont hesitate this thing is amazing!!! Its an absolute Rev7 killer sitting at the same price point (unless you literally want just 2 channels, then they fairly equal depending on needs). Its bad ass and so happy I have this thing, Cheers yall and Big Ups Spinelli
Rane got there spokesperson right going with your opinions finally NICK. 4 channel mixing is cool, not as portable being that heavy. WHEN Rane comes out with a new Rane One MK2 with the on board fx, tension adjust knobs, and stems, Rev 7 is done . Those power bricks are garbage pioneer. Lets go RANE!!!
Hi i want to ask does a 4 channel controller mean you can do mixes like you had 4 turntables on a controller ? If so can you demostrate that on a next video. Also is this a stand alone controller ? Does it have any bluetooth or any wired connections that you can add speakers alone with it ?
Is this the REV-7 killer??
Yes most definitely sell me yours 😂
Yes!
I myself don't think that this kills the REV 7. I believe that it is a great comparison option for Rane vs Pioneer. I'm still Riding with REV 7 IMO. Great review My Guy!

That stem split is a beast. Nothing on the market like it
Virtual DJ has had it for over a year.
Similar to the FLX-10
Ummm that feature exists elsewhere bud

Hi Jewelz gtsy again. 12 inch Rane Twelve style but standalone yooooooo

I was literally thinking this while watching Nick's video.
This is what I was thinking. My P4+ will be used and abused but if I ever run into an issue with it or decide to switch, this would be the next best option
CRAZY how far these things have come. This thing is incredible!
I am so excited to see that the Rane Performer is now in the review/marketing phase. Since there will be no NS7 IV being released, this is the next best thing.

Thanks again for this fun & quality vidéo from France !!! The Best you are !
Your reviews be so in depth bro! And the comedy is priceless 😅
I still do usb and cds , im small but i like the versatility. I wish they would make an all for 1 that uses everything

How much did you get one
I like the way the acrylic vinyls sit on the platter. I look very secured and balanced.

Great review, Nick.
I just ordered mine because of your review. I used your link.
Juan says Hello BTW
Great video, NICK. The layout of Rane 4 is why I switched from pioneer. This new controller just reminds me made the right decision
OMG i couldn't beat juggle with the one i tried at Marquee and am sooo happy you can adjust the torque. I'm buying 2
Nice job! Really learned a lot from this video. Thank you.
I'm drooling watching this video! Most definitely going to buy it!
Sorry but I just love the Rev 7 battle style! 🔥🔥🔥
@mrsanchezthedj4391 yep! I don't even own one, but if I did(in the Dos Equis man voice)

Since Numark's NS7 series there been very few motorized dj controllers that have potential.
IMO Numark was years ahead.... until got bought, chopped and digested by inmusic corp. thats when NS7 technology was passed to Rane, thats why Numark no longer makes any motorized controllers. Rane 12 and Rane One are both Numark's bastard children.
Detailed review, this is how it should be done 💪🏾
Of course another piece of gear that I “need”!!!! It looks sick AF!
I think the Rev layout is better.
best review man i love you're vids

Cool for sure. But i love battle pitch fader and mixer pad placement on my rev. Does all i need and more.
The filter roll like the NS7 is dope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This controller is dope I just wish they would put the pads in the center and the platters closer to the dj
My main gripes with this Rane Performer:
Excessive amount of buttons/knobs that could easily be dual function. It’s busy and overwhelming..Rev7 is cleaner, more streamlined, and battle style. I’ll keep my Rev7 ☺️
If I was playing more open format instead of clubs I would buy this in a heartbeat
Great Review as Always. Thank You Nick
‘I’m gonna be honest witcha, I don’t know what the hell I just did’ 😂😂😂. Pinche Nick
Very nice to see it been released, but I will hope that pioneer comme soon with the Rev7 mk2 improved - I`m also a Rekordbox DJ so....
We're glad you like the feets, Nick!
Man, you should bring back the horse reference and thumbnail when you laugh!! That was hilarious!
Your review is much more comprehensive than Cleveland Terry. Thx
If Nick didn’t have any gripes this controller is truly the best ever!!! 😲
Great overview/review. You didn't spend 20 minutes on basic crap like "this is the shift button, let me show you every use it has".
Bonjour, pour toi quelle est le contrôleur que tu apprécie le plus entre le FLX10 et le performer?
OMG. I have a New Rev 7 and i'm jealous of the stems button control, platter build and saving effects on this Rane. SMH.
Sup Nick waiting for your Rev 7 vs Rane Proformer? Thanks
Hi Pass filter cut rolls off the signal below the cut off point, which happened to be around 240 Hz.
You absolutely murdered this review buddy. Nice work! Hopefully they don’t make you pay for that controller. Because I’m pretty sure you just sold quite a few 😂
Good job brother!!💯
Time to be nice to rane 🤓
This review will ensure that Rane send you another unit for review
Are the screen's on the platters oled?
Great question, I have some sunglasses rn that make it impossible to see the screen when I DJ out on the patio 😭

I just got the rane 4 about a week ago. I think I'm going to send it back and get this one. Don't like that wheels aren't motorized on the rane 4.
It may be the newest thing out for now. But will it pull you from what you’re comfortable with. Is the question
Hey Nick, did you notice if it has the beat grid adjust slide feature like the DDJSRT1000 and FLX10. Saves so much time dialling an off beat grids?
Spinelli the goat!
look at you with the first look!
which has better sound quality, the Performer or the rev 7?

I'm already seeing reasons I'm not a superfan, but I might be a fan now....
They have stems split on Flx10
“ARBY’S - we have the feets!” 🤣🤣
Is there a reason why this and the REV-7 are not usb stick compatible?
Possibly because it does not read the actual mp3s, just a controller rather than a standalone.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, but is it better than the flex 10?
Dude well done 👍🏾 quality review 🫡
We need a 4 motorized platter controller next or maybe a 6 platter?
Thank you FINALLY the NUMARK NS7 IV now I have a replacement for my NUMARK NS7III 😂😂 let’s go!!!!
Hi i want to ask does a 4 channel controller mean you can do mixes like you had 4 turntables on a controller ?
If so can you demostrate that on a next video.
Also is this a stand alone controller ?
Does it have any bluetooth or any wired connections that you can add speakers alone with it ?
Rev 7 in Germany about 1700-1800€ and the Rane Performer about 2300€! 500+ is too much in my opinion.....
You were right. They should have called it the preFOURmer.
Nick we got another one!
Welcome to the Rane family Nick! 😂
WOW
Thank you FINALLY the NUMARK NS7 IV now I have a replacement for my NUMARK NS7III 😂😂 let’s go!!!!
Its a rane four with spinning platters. Got it. 👍
Don’t like small buttons rane products have
did you notice that one platter is slightly bigger than the other?
