Wow, Love this style of playing. Feels like a high gain Mario/Classic rock/metal Fusion... thing. Love it. Anywhere i can purchase this song? or any tab?
Dude I absolutely love your playing! I've watched your Polymath demo and am curious how you would compare those with the Rags? I have Juggernauts in my Aristides H/07, and Polymaths in a Boden 6. Both are incredible pickups, and I'm tempted to get Polymaths in an upcoming Aristides 7 string build, but the Ragnaroks have my attention as well.
I bought these pickups for my 2016 Les Paul Standard Traditional a couple of years ago because of this review. Thanks again for an in-depth review and use of multiple styles. Not all of us play one type of music. I have a Les Paul, doesn't mean I'm stuck on dad rock lol
1) VERY cool and fun song! 2) PHENOMENAL playing 3) Some seriously cool tones coming from a pickup that I didn't think would be so versatile. I'm thinking about picking some up now. Keep up the good work, dude! Quite inspiring!
Hi Jason. Thank you so much man. Glad you liked it. I was really surprised too when I put them in my guitar. After hearing Misha talk about them I thought they were gonna be out of control wild but they really "just" are the best humbucker I've ever played. They kinda are like really expensive studio monitors, that lets you hear everything in the music but instead they just bring everything out of your guitar. Let me know if you end up getting a pair. I want to hear what you think.
Well sir, I picked up a pair and went to a friend's house (who happens to be a luthier) and he installed them for me. I definitely see what you mean about these pickups, and my first impressions are quite positive. I have them in an alder body with a maple cap, maple neck, and ebony fretboard. They have a unique compression to them that I really like, and they sound super versatile too. I'm really liking the percussive top end and bite. I thought these pickups would have sounded much darker, but they almost remind me of a high def version of the Blues Saraceno Duncan pickup. Your video inspired me to pick these up, and practice more! Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
Tjena! Have you tried lundgrens pickups? If so how do they campare to the rags? Great song btw, so catchy and refreshing when everyone else play teenage djent :D
Hej Jonas. Lundgren make amazing pickups! I've used many of their pups and they have all been amazingly great. Highly recommended. Glad you liked the tune :)
Been wanting to know if the bridge could work in place of a DiMarzio Super Distortion. That pickup is what i've been wanting to put in an Edwards Les Paul that i've been wanting to modify and hot rod for a while, but these Ragnarok pickups i'll argue sound better than the Super Distortion to my ears because of how much more midrange presence these pickups have. The Edwards i have came with a JB and 59 initially. They aren't bad pickups by any means, but i want to expand my horizons in terms of what pickups will work best for my application.
Excellent video, do you still use these pick ups? I have the black hawks amazing nothing but great sounds, I'm tempted to try these in another guitar do you know if there ceramics or alinco
No way. Wanted to throw them in my Aries! Compared to the lithium what difference do you hear? Definitely sounds a lot more ballsy. How easy was it to fit them?
Comparing the Rag's to Lithiums is like comparing Kiesel to Squire :D It's just a much better pickup. I do like the lithiums (and as stock pickups they are fantastic) but BKP is just on a different level.
@@johnhuldt I'm surprised. I know he used some aggressive ceramic in the bridge in the Les Paul in the early 80s. Anyway great playing and tone as always.
hi man! great job en tone! have question.... i have the same pickups but have a monster noise, when i play palm mute appear noise like a interference, you know about that?
The Lithiums are great but it's kind a one size fits all. BKP's do nothing but pickups so naturally they have more options and very specific expertise in that area. I find the Ragnarok's made an already fantastic guitar just that much more incredible. Really brings the life out of it.
I actually had to have the pups modded to fit. The routing on the Aries is really shallow to I had to have the mounting brackets modified for them to fit. But didn't do anything to the guitar. Come to think of it, I'll actually tell the BKP guys and see if they can make a Kiesel ready option.
As a guitar player i can say that your playing is very smooth and sweet, nice video,
Thanks David. Glad you like it!
Smooth is an understatement... Holy buckets😯
Wow, on each Ragnorock demo I'm hearing something new which is good! Great job!
Thank you!
@@johnhuldt you're welcome.
Damn John, you make it look so effortless.
Haha gotta keep them hands relaxed man.

Incredible! I was so impressed by the playing that I forgot to listen to how the pickups sounded :P
That opening riff was badass! Finally someone playing with groove and feeling. Nice job!
Epic af! Always a pleasure to hear your arrangements.
Thank you Trevor!

This is so refreshing to listen to. Keep making music sir!
Thank you Andrew. I shall do my best!

sick playing and nice tones.

Haha the Rags are my favorite humbucker. I think they really nailed it with that one.
This tune is brutal. Love the proggy style! :D
Thank you :)

Really glad that you like them!
Amazing demo song and great tones! You make it look so effortless :)
Thank you so much Mika! Glad you like it :)
Fantastic writing and tone! But must be said, that fretboard is gorgeous looking!
Kiesel, man. Can't go wrong :) Thank you for the kind words.
I watched your video and it was very helpful. I also have an kiesel A6 and was considering installing a BareKnuckle pickups Ragnarok.
Let me know how you like them :)
I hear some Eric Johnson/John Petrucci inspired writing. Sounds amazing
Thanks Chris!
They really nailed that quasi-active sound they were going for with these
Whatever they were going for, the pups sound awesome :D
John Huldt absolutely! Your demos always sound great though man
Thank you so much, Drew!

Best wah foot accessory ever!
Haha YES! Borrowed my girlfriends Bebe flipflops.
John Huldt borrowed........

HI Phillp. Give them a try! They're my personal favorite humbucker of all time
How about a video on your journey as a student of the guitar, John Huldt!
I can sum that up to play a lot :)
i just ordered the ragnarok bridge and your video inspired me to do it. whats ur opinion of the bridge ragnarok?
Excellent video, do you still use these pick ups? I have the black hawks amazing nothing but great sounds, I'm tempted to try these in another guitar do you know if there ceramics or alinco
I love 'em. The Rag is probably my favorite humbucker of all time.
Great playing and tone!
Great playing mate. Enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Where can I find/purchase this song? It's amazing!
Nowhere but here. Guess I should put some of this stuff up on Spotify/iTunes...
Damn. Is this something you can play at anytime or is it muscle memory and rehearsal...or both?
No way. Wanted to throw them in my Aries! Compared to the lithium what difference do you hear? Definitely sounds a lot more ballsy. How easy was it to fit them?

That was AWESOME!!!
Haha thanks man. Please sub and thanks for watching :)
If you've used bare knuckle warpigs before how do these compare? Great playing and tone btw! :)
I haven't used either so I can't really say. These are great though :)
hallo.. can u recomend me the better sound for metal guitarist.. bareknuckle ragnarog or black hawk?
Great playing.
Thank you!
Awesome playing man, subbed
Thank you Daniel :)
How would you say the ragnarok is compared to the nailbomb?
Haven't tried the nailbomb so honestly couldn't say. Write the guys at BKP and they'll guide you through it.
Ayyyy playa, which XTC profile you using?
Which what?
@@johnhuldt Which bogner profile are you using on your kemper?
@@FastRedPonyCar good question. Probably from reampzone.
Do you think they could do a late 70s/early 80s Zappa-esque lead sound well?
No clue. Not my cup of tea but I can tell you that they are amazing pickups.

Hey man. Not really sure what that is. Could be the wiring or something else, doubt it's the pickup though.
Nice John! You play so goooood ;)
Thanks Franq!
WOW MAN !!! REALLY AWESOME !!! IM A NEW FAN DUDE !!!
Dark funeral, nice
dark funeral???? DARKTHRONE, DAMN IT! (it's ABBA, by the way... i've got that t-shirt :) )
Check out Lundgren Black Heaven
How much volume had you rolled down to on the guitar for the intro riff? Great video, needed a review of this pick up. Thank you :D
Probably half way and the tone knob all the way in the bottom. Glad you liked it!
Is this song an original? Holy shit if it is you deserve more attention.
Yes sir. I wrote it for this demo. Really glad you liked it!
How do they compare to the Kiesel lithium pickups?
The Lithiums are great but it's kind a one size fits all. BKP's do nothing but pickups so naturally they have more options and very specific expertise in that area. I find the Ragnarok's made an already fantastic guitar just that much more incredible. Really brings the life out of it.
Nice! I have a SCB6 with lithiums. Looking into these now. Great vid man.
Right on man. Let me know if you decide to get any. I recommend BKP's as highly as I recommend Kiesel.
Any routing required to fit them into your Aries?
I actually had to have the pups modded to fit. The routing on the Aries is really shallow to I had to have the mounting brackets modified for them to fit. But didn't do anything to the guitar. Come to think of it, I'll actually tell the BKP guys and see if they can make a Kiesel ready option.
Very nice. Are you using the Ragnarok on your 7-string Aries as well?
I got Impulse's on the DC700 and rumors has it there's a pair of Aftermath's coming my way for the A7M.
Fuck dude, you are awesome! ssssssssssssssssssssssubbed
Are they Active or Passive?
They are passive. Don't think BKP makes any active pickups.
sounds like opeth
Must be a Swedish thing...
You are my favorite composer at the moment. Amazing. Is there any tabs for this song?
You are my favorite RUclips handle at the moment haha. No tabs for this one unfortunately.
