Caporai.4963 here as the Finalist #2 For those who wants to know the armor pieces: Head: Fanged Dread Mask (Mesmer starter with the dyes: Alemoot, Darkness and Glossy Black). Shoulders: Scourge Tendrils (PoF Elite Spec, with dyes: Enameled Legacy, Abyss, Alemoot and Enameled Perseverence) Chest: Soul of Koda (Honor of the Waves Dungeon Armor with dyes: Seraphim, Murky Grey and Arid). I vote Finalist 2. My GW2 account is Olalo.1960. I hesitated a little between 2 and 4, which are the most coherent and outstanding to me. The other ones were pretty original, winking at the little demon 😈. But I like n⁰2's execution of the Awakened theme. And the fact that it's based on Elonian lore perfectly closed the deal for me.

Can help ya: He's a medium user (Soulbeast Ranger). Helm: Dragon Descendant from Lunar Festival annual achievement that just ended unfortunately. Shoulder and Gloves are Flame Legion (Citadel of Flame Dungeon Armor. Requirement is to clear the regular dungeon first with a character before buying it from a vendor in Lions Arch, with that character.) Chest, Leggings and Boots are Dragon Decade armor. Theres an achievement for that which is easy to do. Backpiece: Devil Rending Cape from Black Lion Vendor in major cities: Statuettes (45) Weapons are Fused from Trading Post.
Okay, so on finalist 5 are a pair of pants I have not seen before in light armor. I checked on human female just in case and they are not in the wardrobe. So, did they get released around when End of Dragons to present day? The first piece leading up to the new legendary armor set, maybe?
Most of the gemstore skins doesnt pop up in the wardrobe until you accquire them, which bothers me as well. Had to resort with the code you find on wiki or that-shaman website. Think the leggings are called "Side-Lace Pants".
Just a suggestion though for fashion wars as I judged this a couple of times before. There should be a category or theme on what the contestants need to portray. If there is no category, then it will just fall to subjective as fashion is mostly subjective. Judging should be objective. Examples of category is like "Best Charr in Valentine's Theme" etc2.
Completely disagree, and late night rant incoming from someone who loves gw2 fashion but is tired of seeing themes in contests. Themes don't work well for gw2, where it's difficult to obtain specific skins to suit a theme at short notice and the game is more designed around long-term goals of acquiring the perfect skins for a look. A good example is the gem store rotation - what if you have the perfect idea to fit the theme but the skin you want isn't currently available? If people are allowed to use whatever their current look is, it's much more likely they already purchased the gem store item needed for the look as they would have been waiting for it. On that note, why should people have to invest in buying a gem store skin or any skin for that matter just for a temporary look for a contest? People buy skins because they want to use them for general looks long term, outside of the contest. You might argue that people should then just use whatever skins they happen to have, which in my view just degrades the whole concept of the contest because then you're not seeing people's best creative work. Themes are very limiting on expression, people should be able to wear whatever they think looks good not to try to suit someone else's theme. All a theme does is make it so a lot of people aren't able to participate because they don't have the right skins for such a narrow and specific concept. Placing a theme on a fashion contest also does absolutely nothing for removing the subjective element, that will always be there. I have seen many fashion contests with themes where I heavily disagree with the choice of winners. It doesn't mean the host is wrong or I'm wrong, it's just difference in opinion which is still always going to be present. There's even more subjectivity introduced with a theme if anything, because I often also disagree that someone followed the theme better than someone else. Please no more fashion contests with themes.
@@amyt2035 You cant remove the element of subjectivity in judging but judging when there is a theme has lesser "bias" compared to a fashion contest which has no theme. I mean look at this contest for example, as a judge how the hell will you present your breakdown of scores if every contestant has a different theme going on. It will be hard to justify your judging score without saying "oh I just like that look blah2x" or "oh this person is my winner because I like the color Red more than Green". You get what I mean. And in this case this will just fall to bias and favoritism.
@@Dark_Wizard_of_Mu There's plenty of objective elements to fashion and character design to base decisions off, such as the character's silhouette, consistency in materials/texture/details, shapes and lines, complimentary colours, functionality, proportions, visual storytelling... There will always be elements of subjectivity present but if a judge is basing their score on something as trivial as whether they like the colour green or red more, then they shouldn't be judging, period. Plus, people wear different colours and have all sorts of outfit ideas within themed contests too - the same subjectivities apply. A good judge will look at each person's individual theme/vision of what they are going for, and determine how well they achieved it - whether the judge personally would have gone for that kind of look or not. It's actually very simple using this contest as an example. Even though I personally wouldn't want to dress my characters like a number of them, such as the second entry, I can appreciate the level of detail and thought that went into it and that one actually gets my vote. Again, themes do nothing at all for lowering subjectivity in contests. The only way a theme could ever possibly aid in that is if the theme was so exact that it took all creativity and fun out of the contest, for example if the host gave every contestant a specific image of spiderman and told them to dress as precisely and accurately to the picture as possible, and the closest one wins. Using your Valentine's example, there could be many subjective interpretations of that theme that judges may be biased towards or prefer over others. What if someone wears red but the judge prefers pink or white? What if someone dresses as a bunch of flowers and they happen to be the judge's favourite flowers? What if 5 different people come dressed as cupid, who should win? What if someone dresses as a rose, some might think that's a classic valentine's day symbol while others might think it's too cliche. What if someone dresses as a character from one of the judge's favourite valentine's day movies? What if someone fits the theme really well, but their overall look fashion-wise is not as impressive as someone else who has a more cohesive look but adheres to the theme less? What should be prioritised over theme and fashion? What constitutes a good look? What determines who fits the theme better? How much liberty do people have within the constraints of the theme? It only adds more subjectivity along with more limitations. That being said, if there was a way in gw2 where for a temporary period of time during fashion contests, everyone had access to every skin and could make whatever outfit they wanted for free to suit the theme, then sure I'd be fine with themes. I'd still prefer no theme but they would serve some purpose and still be fun. But this game is not suited for themes as it is now with how hard and expensive it can be to unlock skins. All themes do is exclude people, make the quality of entries worse, and diminish the whole purpose behind fashion in an mmo - to show off *your* character. Not to make a character that fits someone else's theme.
Jen. If you dont mind may i request that you unblock me or the philippines for visiting your website. Its been 2 months and i cant still browse your site. 😢
Fiery charr dragon is an OK transmog but the choices they made in showcasing are abhorrent, first critique would be that they chose to showcase a black dark fiery dragon transmog in the isle of reflection, the background just doesn't fit, the other major problem I have with it is the abilities they are showcasing have no relevance to the look. Green soulbeast trails and a soaring green eagle just don't match either. 3/10 The awakened however both has a great transmog and chose to showcase the look in appropriate areas. not much to critique. 8/10 The basic human female..... you cant go a day without seeing this character everywhere, it is very basic, very much not unique, and as i said i see this exact character multiple times a day already. not much to be said about the showcasing as instagirls will take pictures anywhere. 1/10 #4 gemstore/10 mommy - same as basic human female as this is another basic human female, cant tell the difference. 1/10 So basically awakened guy was the only one to even put any effort into this.
i dont want the gems but i was also too harsh on gemstore guy, they might be gemstore but he did a good job with it, dyes, effects, the shots were great too. changing that to a 6/10
