@@arkgaharandan5881 it can be done by optimising your maps well, and having a lot of stuff hidden until it is needed. The problem is it's a lot more fun to play than it is to make. I wouldn't call the Flooded District in Afterglow open world by any stretch - however there are still lots of things to do there. However, even in a semi-linear state with lots of routes blocked, it took months and work and lots of planning. I'm not saying it cannot be done - I'm saying nobody wants to put the time in to do it. @@DinnerForkTongue a necessary conceit due to the hub structure. Unless I make every map circular so it spits you out at the end back where you started. The one thing I cannot stand in old school maps is having to find my way back to the beginning to get all the secrets I missed XD
Ah shit here we go again. 😏 1. 4:45. After the arena, from the tunnel, before, moving on, climb up the air vent for a stim. 2. At 8:17. In the storage room, climb up the boxes into the vent, for some armor. 3. At 12:10. In the sewer sublevel, there'll be a room with generators (?) And a switch will reveal the ladders, climb up the box and jump across, to some armor scraps. 4. At 12:55. 5. At 15:43. In the spiral staircase, head up to the topmost floor, and enter the room, rounding the shelves into an open window space. 6. At 16:28. From secret 5, instead of going round the shelves, head into the workshop room and climb over the boxes. 7. At 20:23. Find the bronze key through a broken window in the office after the yellow gate. 8. At 21:49. Outside, on exiting the Rink, an abandoned truck down in the wastes Fun level, and nice story development point, although those riot shield shits soaked up so much ammo in my case.☠️
Anyone know how to get to the stadium seats ? There's lots of scrap and 2 enemies in area there, but the doors won't open that lead to the stairs into the seating area. Maybe it's timed somehow ? EDIT: Found it. Apparently there is a lift, but I was slightly far away from the switch so I thought it was broken.
Also in the second secret where You find the armor in the lockers. You Will SEE a locker that can be opened and Will have a .45 revolver and a Jason reference.
They exist to test your shot placement. Shoot around the shield, wait for them to turn, or just use explosives. The Master Blaster breaks the shotgun mutants over its metaphorical knee.
Dang, so THAT'S where the bronze key is! I looked all over for that thing. Thanks for the assist! For anyone who isn't interested in getting all the secrets/items/kills, there is a vent that will take you outside (without any keys) after a little platforming at around the 16:24 mark. Excellent mod!
2:07 - Never seen that before... Funfact: Back in Westside, you can try and crush yourself in the motorcycle conveyer belt by putting yourself between the bikes and the entrance to the side the bikes go in, but you'll just get pinned and will be unable to move. 3:09 - Never seen a cannibal get launched into another cannibal, which then pissed off the second cannibal, leading him to attack and kill the first one either! 13:29 - While difficult, I can confirm that it is still in fact possible to get the Master Blaster mutants to infight with another Master Blaster Mutant like in Ep 1 and Dead Man Walking. Though I believe this is the only time where it can happen. (There were two of them when I played on Arcade difficulty (versions 1.02 and 1.05) 18:01 - To get to the stadium stands, go downstairs and kill the fat cannibal at the end of the hall. Open the door so that you have a shortcut back, then turn around and press the elevator switch to the right and ride it up. You'll be able to reach the stands from there.
I liked sneaking out of the arena through the vent. Just a neat little alternative to leave those dumb mutants wondering where our hero went, before sending a Destroyer to try and hunt him down...
Lost the bike. Shame after all the effort you had to put into getting it running. So when a post apoc society builds an acid pit, what do they use to acid proof it?
The only thing that sucks about this map is that if you exit through the vent before grabbing the blue key (which I did, because I thought it led to a secret), you lock yourself out of it and can only go to the next one, even rocket jumping won't let you back in since the vent is too small for you to fit through without crouching
CsGo players never realized if they put the knife on the end of a gun you go even faster. Smh
Who needs bunnyhopping?

IMO the shortcuts were a great choice. Really feels like you expand the map when you open a quicker way back.

You can shoot around the Manslayers' shields. Or use explosives.

This, right here, is the best Afterglow map, imho. Even with the shotgunner mutants. My God the shotgunner mutants!

GOTY contender
Fun note, you barely need to kill 6 enemies when taking the sneaky route.
What a ride!
What ride? Scav's on foot, remember? 😜
@@DinnerForkTongue oh you...
Cool idea for future update. Prizes for winning the arena fight (killing everyone before entering the vent). No jackhammer = More prize
Score changes as you progress through the map. I'm pretty sure it gets to 3-0 after you kill every mutant in this map.
Blood Sport was a great film. The original from the '70s I mean, not the remake.

This series is great! Thanks for showing off all secrets, I've been wanting to find the ones I missed.
Good playing!

Gotta admit, it's kinda fun outsmarting braindead cannibals. That being said, the Master Blaster needed some calibrations
I ended up getting all the kills on my hunt for all secrets. I don't normally go for 100% kills in Ashes on purpose.

HOLY PLOTDUMP BATMAN!!!
Excellent stuff.
Only thing that's missing is a Blind Van Damme and Screaming Buff Korean.
Superb! Why don't you use the assault rifle? No ammo?
Ammo for that is scarce at this point
the mall is a my favorite map in ashes series.
good they came with sterilize wad so i can play with my favorite weapon and monster mod.
This stage is very hard for me cuz I'm suck at using crowbar. Had to use all of my stim to make it
Very good! :D
This Is better thank RAGE 1 and 2
That's like saying "this banquet is better than that pile of stale expired crackers we found behind the dumpster." Not exactly a high bar to clear.
