Pokemon Pearl was my first and last
I had Fire Red on the Game Boy Advance. I think my Dad also played Pokémon on one, too, which was pretty funny.
Played Fire Red, Emerald, Heart Gold, Black, White 2, then X before I got bored of the series. I loved the anime as a kid, too. The original, with Ash & Charizard. Charizard was probably my favorite as a kid, because he never listened to Ash, and if Ash got mad, he’d Flamethrower him. God, I loved that.

Yeah, accidental shiny Pokemon is a thing. Happens to me most of the time, i.e. getting a shiny Swanna through Ultra Space without even trying.

Not sure if you knew this, but the Tweaking Glitch can be used in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl to catch Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus.
TheEquestrianGallade you can't get arceus, i tried it
Arceus softlock the game if you enter the hall of origin without the azure flute and the appropriate mystery gift card. Some pretty strong anti-hacking measures were taken to control how available it was.

fidgety9001 not true, by using the RETIRE glitch which is part of a pal park menu, you can call 4th script in runtime, if you then go to hall of origin you can call arceus' battle script with it. My last video shows the fastest route, which I wrote myself (so you can ask any question, I'll be able to answer)
RETIRE is correct. It's even possible to catch a Hall of Origin Arceus that can be transferred up to Gen 7, unlike Mystery Zone Arceus.
Tweaking is actually the game writing load data to a buffer, but by loading more area it just pastes the data already in this buffer to the new area. However, by going too fast in certain patterns you can cause a buffer overflow which is known as the cascade glitch, which reads from pointerdata. If you refresh in the correct chunks you can however manipulate where this is read from, which means you can manipulate it's effects to an extent.
Also tweaking can't corrupt your savefile, that's a hoax :)

I remember doing the Ace trainer glitch by accident. I basically said: “uhhh yeah cool ok”
I did too. Not sure why they assumed nobody might want to go heal after a battle haha

Jump On Everything the void
Its the Tweaking Glitch/Void Glitch, it happens from D/P to HG/SS. Look at RUclips, there are tons of olders videos explaining this glitch. In D/P/Pt its very useful, you can use this glitch to catch Event legendaries, like Darkrai and Shaymin.
Jump On Everything 'the void' is actually not an 'unloaded area' but just RAM, usually the game reads from a specific part of RAM based on your coordinates, but because those change so does your position in RAM, but there is no visual data tied to these coordinates so that's why its black. However it does interpret bytes as maps, which is why those change.
Well, so far as I know, there's Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

IIRC that only works in Diamond and Pearl, and specifically for the Darkrai and Shaymin encounters.
Romeo Rose I wonder: Where in the game's world do the Giovanni / Celebi, and Arceus / three dragons events take place, and could those places be reached through out of bounds?

There are no event pokemon avaible to obtain via tweaking...
it only worked with darkrau and shaymin because they were already existing in the area, but the normal ability was locked via event. To my knowledge what he showed is all you can do.
Actually it is possible that you could tweak and go out of bounds and go to where the event for celebi is. There is a good chance that gamefreak and Nintendo designed it so that everything is on the same map but unloads when far enough off screen. It would take a lot of tries to find out where it would be since in gen 4 it was super hard just to get to the 2 legendaries. As for the three dragon legendaries legendaries this would be a lot harder. This would be hard because during the celebee event it is only just a part of Kanto while the three dragons are only spawned in a random Rocky Mountain place which has no reused chunks of it except the skin for the models. Not only that but since you have to have arceus the second you would try to even start the process I believe the game would crash as it would check if you had arceus so it could trigger the cut cutscene.
Please please PLEASE do an entire video on tweaking, it would be very interesting and might even give us insight on unused data, in the same way you saw the bug hunters off the map.

HGSS are pretty good remakes that improves the original games, but i can't say that they are the best. Johto is way too short, the game is way too easy because it has two regions so the games often uses low level Pokémon to accomodate players that don't propelly leveled they team. The game gets boring pretty easy, and lets just say that the battle system didn't aged very well. Those static sprites nowdays are boring to look at, Gen 5 made battles more entertaining to watch.
But i can understand, back in 2009/2010 i loved HGSS, that time it was better than Platinum. Now days i find Platinum aged better or is overwall a more interesting game to re-play.

SoulSilver was my first ever introduction to Pokemon. I adore that game so much for it's nostalgic value. I remember my friend (who had HeartGold) and I would battle, trade, and freak out whenever either of us found a rare Pokemon. My favorite Pokemon game of all time.

The tweaking glitch can be done in D/P to get Darkrai in Jublife City. However, doing the tweaking glitch in Pt will still work, but you cannot get Darkrai because he is taken out of the game.
SoloBeans you can also use it in dp to get shaymin and arceus

An interesting thing about Tweaking is that if done in Diamond/Pearl or Platinum versions and then a specific route is followed you can get to normally event exclusive areas of the game, such as the garden where Shaymin is found or the island where Darkrai can be found, you can also get to the hall of fame in under an hour via Tweaking in Pearl as shown in TAS.
This glitch was used in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum to get to special Event Only area's, such as the Darkrai event island without needing the special item, it's also a little faster because there are so many intricacy's with this glitch that can adjust what your loading and unloading. I discovered this glitch myself when i was playing Pearl and did it Jubilife city, scared the crap outta me but that's why i get for riding my bike around wildly in the middle of the street for like an hour, obey traffic law's kids.

man, anyone has their opinions, but, this is the best pokemon game of all, good music, good story, the villains might not be the best but it gives the feeling of decadence that its very cool, the best postgame of all, good rival, good gym leaders, and the pokemon follows you.

Yes! Do more Tweaking! In Diamond/Pearl (but not Platnium), there was a really specific set of movements you could follow and obtain Darkrai without events. Man that was the coolest.

i knew nothing about any of these glitches but im REALLY surprised you didnt do the cute charm glitch XD ITS SO COOL!
that pokemon hovering after being poisoned glitch dates all the way back to Pokemon Yellow where your Pikachu companion would follow you around. if you had your Pikachu faint from poison at the exact moment you go over the ledge, just as you demonstrated here, the popup telling you your pikachu had fainted would cause the exact same floating glitch.
And man, I am so glad You went so in-depth about Tweaking. Turns out you can also do it using the 'turbo button' on the No$GBA emulator. Found this out accidently yesterday when I ended up in a very dark, empty void of Cherrygrove City before swiftly having the game crash x'D

It'd be cool if you did a whole video, specifically in the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games where it's more prevalent and useful for the crazy things people have figured over the years like getting to the event Pokémon areas through the Mystery Zones.
I would love to see more Goldenglitch City ^__^ I'm a bit of an explorer and I love seeing OOB areas adn trying to navigate them, finding ways deeper in, charting new paths around killwalls and barriers. So this glitch in particular has me very interested.

I remember tweaking. It was a useful trick in Diamond and Pearl to get to to the island darkrai lairs upon without any cheats, though I never got it working well.
