I was a back up receiver and a gunner in high school. I used to watch slater every Sunday and wanted to play like him. I was a shitty receiver but got to play d3 ball by being the default gunner. And when you get doubled as a gunner it’s like a badge of honor that the other coach is acknowledging you as a problem
So glad they made a video about my favorite play. I can’t stand when people complain about low-scoring games (when it’s because of good defense, if it’s bad offense then I understand). When a punt team is doing its thing it can be a joy to watch. Put Slater in the hall! Shane Lechler too!
3:00 I miss announcers like Madden and Michaels together, but great video anyway, and FYI, I'm not a bot, you can tell because my underwear isn't showing
One of the STUPIDEST NFL rules is the way they call the downing of the punt. The college rule is much easier for the referees and the public. All that matters is the position of the ball. Nothing is dumber than somebody making a great effort to keep the ball out of the endzone, only to be called for a toe on the line. The NCAA rule is superior.

Salute bro! Where did you play
@ I was at a small school in Massachusetts. Westfield state
So you paid to play in college?
@@thedarkfrost2351 for the love of the game yes. I miss it every day. I assume you weren’t good enough to play in college let alone get recruited
Let Slater in the Hall of Fame. He's got 5x 1st and 2nd team all pros; 10 pro-bowls; and is a 3x superbowl champ
the timing of publishing this and Eberflus making an appearance at 0:54 is quite something
Great football mind, right there.

Matt Eberflus opening this video already dates this days-old video
Yeah I would say Matthew Slater was the best at this
Special Teams forever y'all!
Great video. Belichick was one of the first coaches to dedicate as much time to special teams as to offense and defense. And it sure paid off!
That handshake at :33! 😂

FORMER Bears Head Coach
Gunners deserve their respect, the Hall of Fame should consider them. Thanks NFL Films
Reyna Thompson (former Giants special teamer who was not seen in this video) was good at nailing touchbacks.
If Slater gets in before Tasker, just shut the Hall of Fame down entirely...
They both deserve admission. Consummate teammates and football players
Matt Eberflus
People love Slater but Tasker was far better as a core special teamer. He did all the coverage things and was able to block kicks which Slater did not
They're just letting anyone narrate these videos now.
The best plays of the game, that's why they're called special teams
COLT ANDERSON THE MONTANIMAL
Put Slater in
Why do we have a zesty narrator?? Ruins the entire film
🤘🏿🤙🏿🤟🏿
Wow!!!🎉
This narrator ain’t it

No they aren't HOF'ers sorry.
