I actually enjoy the long pause at the end. I always listen to this when I am programming. When the song ends and there is that pause, I get more work done than anytime else during the day, because I am amped up and thinking LOL
Back in 2012 or so I spent 4 days in San Diego on a family vacation. My old lady hated my guts by then and was a total bitch the whole trip, but we stayed at the Bahia resort and hotel, which had its own little area of private beach you had to be staying in the hotel to sit on. The first day we were there I remember walking out onto the balcony and sitting in one of the chairs with a freezing cold beer at like 8 in the morning, cranking this song, and when the chorus hit after the second verse, the extended chorus, I just thought to myself "fuck it, I'm not gonna let a fuckin' thing bother me this whole trip. Not work, not her, not anything". I didn't- we went to Disneyland, Seaworld, I sat front row and saw the dolphins with my niece and got splashed by their tails and we laughed our ass off. I spent 4 days on the beach constantly good and buzzed and it was beautiful. San Diego seems to move slower than the rest of the world, at least the parts I've seen, and I love it for that. Hate California as a whole, but San Diego is great. Best 4 days of my life. And her? I wish her well, but fuck her, too.
I am from Ventura it's awesome having a song you can relate too and understand. I am on the 101 all the time. But I never realize anything special about it until I hear a good song about it. It makes it more special driving now haha.
This song really makes me long for summer. I live in sweden where its just about to get warmer, but I think all of us here in scandinavia sometimes wishes we could experience california. Wonderful song!
I drove from the San Fernando Valley up to San Francisco on the 101. It was really nice. The weather was good, and it was a fun drive. I was blasting this song the whole way.. Excellent highway. It starts following the coast after awhile, and the view and feeling of driving it is just amazing..
