I got to see Mogwai a couple of years back and they are masters of getting more and more quiet then suddenly LOUD, it's absolutely stunning to experience. Very atmospheric.

And if they're in a venue which allows them to play as loud as they want to, you'll feel your whole skeleton vibrating. Saw them a good few years back, closest thing to a religious (or spiritual) experience that this grumpy old misanthropic atheist will ever have.

What a great surprise to see a reaction to Mogwai! Mogwai live is a spiritual experience. It was cool to see you both getting into the trance effect of their music. Now imagine having the sound vibrating through your entire body@ the same time, that is a Mogwai show.
They have a huge catalog, 10 studio albums and 6 soundtracks, including the soundtrack to the Darren Aronofsky film, The Fountain.
I think you would like the song Batcat... it's heavy.
    Much love.

Mogwai live is like experiencing pure joy through sound. It metaphorically lifts you off the floor and leaves you hovering.

It's so nice to find some nice people watching post-rock bands.
This track was one of my favourite commute songs a decade ago when I was going back and forth between work and home. I remember listening to this track on the top deck of a steamy double decker bus.

Literally been listening to mogwai since I was 6, it's the first band I remember growing up. I'm 32 now and their music has never done me wrong. My friends dad was a fan and would play it for us when we were kids and now their old albums remind me of being a child. It's actually beautiful as fuck because I have no other way of being brought back like that. I would listen to more of their music if I were you guys, give them more of a chance they have consistently made interesting music. Their new songs Richie sacremento and ceiling granny are amazing and I definitely recommend listening to the albums Mr beast, come on die young, young team, rock action and the hawk is howling 😊😋

Probably the loudest live band in the world. I went to see them at a festival and during the first song they blew out the sound system. Every other time I've seen them it took up to 3 days for my ears to stop ringing, I'd love to know what happened the guy I saw once with his head right beside the speaker stack.

Can't help but love the instrumentals, in that they're very similar to the work of Akira Yamaoka (who is an absolute legend). This would fit right in on a Silent Hill soundtrack

mogwai would be what some call post rock. There are plenty other great bands like this out there... God is an Astronaut, Long Distance Calling, Godspeed you! Black Emperor, Sigur Ros, Russian Circles and many more...

Talking about their strange lyrics, have a listen to 'Dial Revenge', which is sung in Welsh, which sounds pretty much like a made-up or distorted language. Also, it would be worth watching the video for Hunted Ny A Freak, which is all kinds of disturbing and cute.

Thank you, ladies, once again! I felt a bit obliged to provide you some soothing and nice music since I most probably provided you with the worst kind of video you have reacted and will ever react to. Oh, well, not probably, but absolutely sure. (You know, the one, that LeAnn called her idea of hell...)
So, I am glad to see I can bring some balance into my requests.
Happy Easter in advance and sweet dreams for today.

Adding Sigur Ros to this list.... The songs are in a made up language Hopelandic.

God is an Astronaut vibe on this one. Saying that this predates All is Violent.. so Mogwai influenced them.

    Here’s your tomb
    Gets me far today
    Astral fear
    There’s no returning now
And we were in a universe
I saw the sun traveling far
    Traveling over us
    Shooting little stones into dust
    Swimming out…
    Here we are
    Images of god
And we were caught in a universe
I saw the sun traveling far
    Traveling over us
    Shooting little stones into dust
    We fly
    Right here
    We are
We were meant to go to heaven
We were meant to go right through
And now they’re coming after us
See them shoot across the stars
    Soaring across the skies
    Shooting little stones
    Shooting into us
    Shooting into us
    Shooting into us
    And into dust
    Am I safe to go
    Right now
    Am I ready now
    To go
    Right now
I’ve listened to this song enough to translate the mf into a song about space death or something lol

Sorry but mostly there vocals are put through effects but no made up language or "welsh or gaelic" 🙄

I think there's some confusion there with Sigur Ros (who did do some vocals in 'Hopelandic' as well as Icelandic).
