Now this is all essential. Every single step is.
His the dad we never had!
Sounds like I'm about 90% there
Public speaking is easy when you know what you're talking about! Prepare and you'll be successful
Agreed
Exactly.
And if you aren’t prepared keep it very simple. Like one plain sentence.
I got put on the spot at my nephew’s graduation party. I simply said congratulations and all the best.
Next year when his younger brother graduated I had something planned🙂
Absolutely
Facts
@CzC poe I'll drink to that. 🥂
this kinda brought me to a tear to my eye... because like a lot of young men, i went through boyhood and young adulthood without a father and little stuff like this brings a young man a long way! thanks 💯
No problem!
Turn it to your advantage man, it actually helped me man up much earlier than I should.
@@TheStyleOG thx for everything you do im a teen and i have no dad
Managing personal finances is a skill men need to learn by age 30. Balancing a checkbook, maintaining a budget and discipline with money is important.
Agreed !
Excellent video brother. These are all things a man should teach his son as well. I would add one thing. I think every man should know how to drive a stick shift.
Looks easy but the skill is difficult to master
My finance personal managing is bad because i don't have that much money to manage
@@krisnasetiawan5790 Try to find a way to increase your income. It'll be easier to manage your income that way
I remember shining my church shoes and ironing my clothes 😂 swore to GOD I was clean as a whistle with the S-curl. Lol brought back memories
Basic knowledge of tools, laundry, managing finances, and the skill of properly reading body language. Your list is excellent and my father taught me all of them and the importance of knowing them. Salute to you Jeff for sharing the knowledge with those who didn't learn the fundamentals of manhood. You just gained a new subscriber.
Welcome to the channel!
@@TheStyleOG thank you Sir
Complete self-control- in trying circumstances.
Indeed !
No strain, no gain!
I never had a father in my life teach me any of this.. if I ever have a son, he will be better than me
Me neither, luckily my mother taught me a lot of these things like changing a tire, oil, and using jumper cables. She made me learn to box and the military and college took care of the other things before I was 30. I know I am one of the lucky ones though.
My dad didn't teach me anything either but the Marines taught me a lot of these things.
My dad was always too impatient to teach me how to tie a tie instead doing it for me. This can be a metaphor for the mistake parents make in general - doing things for their kids instead of teaching them and allowing them to make mistakes
1. how to tie a tie
2. change a car tire
3. shine your shoe
4. master public speaking
5. negotiating skills
6. how to dress for an occasion
7. learn how lift weight
8. how to grill
9. how to wet shave
10. how to jumpstart a car
11. how to cook a single meal
12. how to tell a story
13. how to argue logically
14. how to throw a baseball or football
15. basic first aid treatment (cpr, heimlich maneuver, etc)
16. learn how to drive on bad weather
17. fix a leaky faucet
18. iron his clothes
19. how to shoot a gun
20. how to throw a punch
Really, that's it...dude people have been climbing the Mount Everest, surviving brutality everyday with pure fearlessness and you are talking about shining shoes and cooking?
@@gilbertrobert439 he makes a great point can u imagine climbing and surviving and not being able too speak about it publicly or not being able to negotiate endorsement or new missions....
O.G.
A man must learn how to handle his money, pay his bills, know how credit works! Crucial.
Indeed
💯
I don’t comment often but man Iove this channel.
Thanks Travis !
Me too...wish had run across this guy 10 years ago....but I'm on it now.
Great channel
This is a dope video
By age 30 you should know how to do your taxes and finances. It isn't calculus for crying out loud.
Agreed
I would suggest being fundamentally competent at a second language. Speaking multiple languages will open doors for you career-wise and adds another dimension to life.
I like it
对啊。我同意。
If you have a partner where English is Not their second language, learn Their native language. You don't want them speaking in French in front of you, knowing full well You don't understand it.
True
At bare minimum, be able to say hello in multiple languages. Instant rapport.
Personal finance is a biggie. I'm a Dave Ramsey financial peace coordinator. I wish I had learned these skills before I was 30.
Agreed!
💯💯
What is a financial peace coordinator
I’m 46 years old!

@@theeternalnightmare2630 which part? The OG dropped A LOT of gems in this video.
Oh...read a measurement tape, i finally learned how to do that 😅
Being prepared and punctual.A man that has direction and discipline is a powerful individual.
Great list! I've been following for a few months and this is my first time commenting. Here goes...
1. Every man should learn how to give a toast.
2. Every man show learn dining etiquette.
3. Every man should learn how to correctly ballroom dance.
4. I believe that this was mentioned several times, but every man should know how to drive a manual transmission.
5. This is a highly subjective one, but every man should aspire to learn how to swim.
Outside of that, I think this and all your videos are great. Keep up the good work!
All great input
You also have a great list Edward. I particularly like your #1.
I was unimpressed in advance when I saw your first video (for no reason). Your content actually ended up being amusing, so I continued. Now, I don't just enjoy your videos, but they also give me confidence and masculinity. I can watch them when I'm down, sad, or depressed to feel better about myself. I love your content! I feel proud just watching it! You're amazing! Thank you, O.G. !!
No problem!
I'm not 30 yet but I definitely need to work on acquiring my driver's license.
Lol yea
💪🏽💪🏽 I’m 19 trying to get my license as well keep trying it it’s never to late

Another skill I would say is emotional maturity. This skill could help you in various areas like, cultivating a healthy relationship or even saving your life.
I’m surprised driving a manual transmission didn’t make the list.
That’s a good one
I never learned to drive in the first place. Heh
@@SansAziza You must live in a city with an amazing public transit system.
who doesn't know how to drive a manual transmission car?
Have a real sincere relationship with God.
I need to talk to him more. Amen that’s my father
That should be number 1
@@xenech You're right. It should be number 1.
Great job bro. Love how far you have come and all the knowledgeable advice along with style u have given. Keep up the good work. Love the channel ❤
This was great!! I’m 32 and was proud of myself still need work but thank you 🙏🏽
Changing the filter in your furnace or Air Handler. Simple but essential. As an HVAC service tech, I see the damage a dirty filter can cause
Agreed !
What’s up my bro Og. Great video my G . Keep killing them with this knowledge. Salute my friend.
Awesome video. You’ve done it again Jeff! I didn’t think I’d be surprised by anything on this list but a couple did surprise me
Im feeling good about this list. I know all this stuff. Im also smiling at how much of it i learned from my father.
Learned how grill on the fly one of my favorite things to do reaching master status salute OG....
Great video Style O.G. Completely agree with the entire list, especially the advice about public speaking, which I really didn't learn until I was in my 50's.
Yo Jeff, you forgot changing oil, and doing brakes...I can do both
Two good ones!
you should know how to do every repair job on a car. car mechanics are not rocket scientists. nothing difficult about it. not much to an oil change and brakes. i take it you know how to turn the discs on a lathe and you do use vacuum to get out all the old oil.
My brother taught me the majority of what you talked about.
Hey man thanks for sharing this. I can’t wait to teach my son these skills. This will help sharpen my fatherhood skills better. I already taught him how to pray and hear from God, but I like these skills you displayed in this video. Thanks OG
That is awesome!
Absolutely one of the most informative video's I've seen so far on RUclips about Lifestyle ..Thanks …Keep up the good work ( :
Salute!
Agree with all these points! I even taught my daughters how to throw a football they can throw a tight spiral even better than their boyfriends LOL. You in Philly? That's a great town visit it often I'm up in Bucks County. Keep up the great work.
i really enjoy this break down brother keep up the good work i myself need to work on a few skills on this list.. thanks again brother keep us sharp!!
Your vids are always great!!!...but this one is special👌🏼
Glad you think so!
17/20 and I just turned 26. Got work to do but I’m in great shape so far. Always working! ‘Preciate you OG ✊🏾
Salute !
Wow this hit home. I need like at least 2 of these
How about knowing how to swim? 🙃
I can't swim but I can hold my breath underwater for 2 minutes
@@ericsmith5826 You'll die in 2 minutes if you don't know how to swim.
@@jayrosario2095 well I guess I'm saying goodbye to the world lmaoo
you need to know how to swim by age 5.
@@louiscyfer6944 I wasn't able to go to a pool or lake till I was like 13 and then I saw my brother almost drown so I never got in after that till my twenties and I don't go past my knees lol
Solid list.
Really love the channel and very informative. Salute King
Salute Brandon !
Facts! Great info King!
Tying knots. You might need to secure a load in your vehicle or a number of other instances in which this skill would come in handy. Can help with first aid also.
Awesome stuff as always O.G. Much love.
Much appreciated!
Just turned 30 last month, I got 15/20. Working on the other 5! Thanks for the tips, OG!!! 💪🏽💯
Salute !
Great list!! You put out a lot of great content on this channel. Keep up the good work!! The wet shave is definitely a skill that I'm still lacking.
Thanks! Will do!
Nice list OG 👌🏽 I'm past 30 but still need to work on some of those skills. Like others have already said, I'd add being able to manage your money to the list. Thanks for the video!
My man !
Salute OG very helpful skills much needed
Salute James !
My 1st time seeing the channel but the content is necessary 💪🏽subscribed 💯
This was very helpful! Well said, brotha man!
Appreciate it!
Jeff, your always dropping knowledge. Owning a house I learned to be handy around the house. Changing the handle on the toilet and replacing Electrical outlets. Will save you a ton of money. Learning to tie a tie and public speaking can help you grow in your career. Salute to the family.
Salute Pierre !
Well this was refreshing. I got all but two of these covered. And those two I already been workin on 🙂
Never seize to disappoint, thanks style Og🙏
Excellent! Let's add knowing how to save, invest, and set himself up for comfortable enjoyable older years.
Absolutely!
I think Hunting & Knowing how to start a fire 🔥 would be dope too...for the list - dope content, mate
Great Video OG. How to have a high self esteem and confidence.
Great list. Im 50 but in my day it was absolutely necessary to know All of these things. I taught my sons all of these things plus but i see alot of thier friends that just say forget it when i need ill look it up on the internet
The style OG be IN his BAG you can tell he a Philly guy forreal we standout were ever we go or Do appreciate the content 💪🏿
You know it !
Shoutout to roadside assistant. 👀. They spoiled me lol.
Ha !
This is a good video for me as a dad to make sure I teach my son what to do early thanks for the video
Yes, a skill far to gone... Throw a punch, Thanks for sharing I liked this video.
Thanks George!
throwing a punch is not the skill you want, it is fighting. ground game, stand up, and good defense. guys who talk about throwing a punch usually never learned how to really fight.
These were some solid points I didn't expected. None of those generic and common known things, but rather some well thought skills indeed every real man should have. These are some skills you admire in a real man, but which nobody really points out. Salute to you Sir.
Salute!
Nice one, O.G. I'm about to turn 30 next month so this is perfect for me. 💯
These are good tips, thankfully fellas, we have RUclips to help with this if you need to learn on the fly.
Yes! First aid knowledge is a must. There are a lot of young and older men who are inexperienced in this area and it is a must know, life throws many curveballs and the more people that can help others in dire situations, the better.
Thanks dad, class as always
Word bro!!
Great video, made me think of all the times I had to use each skill while dating. Dude is like that cool ass uncle at the cookout who everyone is happy to see and chop it up with.
Thank God i have all this covered
Really great video! Thanks, bro! If were just talking skills I would add romantic and lovemaking skills. As well as deep and vast financial understanding and how to manage your finances.
Just came across this channel. Much respect to you O.G.
Much respect !
My dad told me that I need to learn public speaking. He was so right!!! Awesome video bruh.🔥✊🏽
💯
OG.
Nice video. I am showing this to my majority Male high school class next week!
Salute Calvo!
This blog was very on point.
I’ve grown so much watching this channel my style iq has gone up so much
Very well done
We all need these things in the bag
I can do everything on this list with the exception of the four-hand knot. Gotta get my tie game up lol
Shine\Clean your shoes!! I believe that’s where the term “Dusty” came from!!! I also love public speaking and negotiation skills! Public speaking was one of my first college courses while in the military taking evening courses. Another great video Jeff!!!💯
Thanks!
Good vid, sir!! Learning how to swim is another to learn before 30 (or at some point).
Thanks Christopher!
The last couple skills made me gain even more respect for you, sir. Salute!
I appreciate that!
All your videos are very helpful.
Salute O.G!
Thanks!
Good stuff. Great video!😊
New to the channel. Turned 29 last month. Informative. Subscribed. Salute to you💯
Welcome!!
Thanks Jeff, I'm 18 years old now and I am lucky to watch this video so that I can develop those skills you mentioned. Good video as always, Saluteeeeeee~
Salute!
Stay focused young man. Stay away from those women and build yourself up.
I’m 19 keep doing your thing g
solid list
One of the best channels hands down bro.
I was waiting for you to mention firearms and fighting. Especially in today's times & ESPECIALLY if you're a black man.
unfortunately he only mentioned throwing a punch, nit learning to fight, which means he doesn't really know how to punch. nor is it enough. you need punching and kicking skills, at least basic grappling and submissions, and defensive skills, such as take down defense, guard, bobbing and weaving and covering up bare handed.
Damn i don't know how to do this either. I suck at fighting and firearms. And yes im a black man.
Oh yea. Were on the verge of a civil war. I mean the dude DID mention firearms training the one thing that I definitely should do.
@@iamthatiam4637 go get some training.
@@louiscyfer6944 learnt some of that in wrestling
Dope list. New to your channel bro but after this I'm subscribing. It's a sign of the times when knowing how to shoot properly is as important as knowing how to change a tire.
Thanks Kevin!
Great video. Excellent delivery. I would add to the list personal finance management, dining etiquette, and how to properly maintain a yard.
Thanks!
Solid content as always! I would suggest "time management" as a necessary skill also. Punctuality, efficiency, and consistent situational awareness demonstrates a man in control.
Agreed!
Lol. Throwing them hands. I haven’t heard that in a long time. Great job.
Ha !
throwing them hands is not sufficient, nor are you likely good at it if that's what you call it. need to know grappling, submission, stand up including kicking, plus proper defense. knowing how to throw a punch is not going to get you far against a skilled opponent.
Great list! Would be nice to throw some links in or maybe a follow up video on each skill
Finally a list I cleared everything on
Dropping gems OG🙏🏾💪🏾
My man !
awesome stuff
Great video Brother!
This is a great video! For me, I learned most of these skills in the military well before 30.
Especially vehicle maintenance
Great list thank you🙏🏽
You’re welcome 😊
