After watching your videos for so long, I've always admired how you treat your employees like friends. Ronnie, in particular, and his truck were regulars, and we got to know him not because of his presence on video but because of how often you all spoke of his work for the farm. You have talked about his kindness, dependability, capability, excellent driving skills, and the all-around good man he was. You've all lost a good neighbor, friend, and employee in his passing, and I'm sure he is already missed. My family and I are so sorry for your loss, and we send our condolences to the family of Ronnie, his friends, and the entire CornStar Farm family.
Sometimes people say nice things about people they know after they have passed. It seems the people in the farming community are NOT that way. They instead express their love and appreciation for members of their community all year long. If the entire world could behave that way, how nice that would be. RIP Ronnie. You're a good man DC.
DC it scares me every time either of you have to do any climbing on the ben. I was so happy when it was being put in because I thought it was going to make life easier on you. I hope it gets settled soon and I pray y'all have a bumper crop this year. Praying for Ronnie's family. Love to you all!❤
Daddy Cornstar, I really enjoy watching your videos. Part of your problem on the bin site is that the guys evidently didn't know how to weld galvanized steel. That is why things are falling off all the time. Sorry to hear about Ronnie. I had a friend that I had worked with for 15 years pass away in a similar situation. We both drove trucks for the same company. My friend Jon Michael and another driver both delivered a load of chicken one Saturday morning to a freezer that is only about 75 miles from home. Jon had said he wasn't feeling good but he went ahead and took the load. When he got back his wife tried to get him to go to the emergency room and get checked out. He wouldn't go get checked. He had a massive heart attack that evening and died before they could get him to the hospital. Jon was a great guy that would do anything to help out, he is surely missed around here.
One thing that cheers me up is how much effort farmers put in to make the farmstead look neat and tidy. Pride in their farm. Add that to the daily shores around the farm....heck of a daily work load.
Your kind words about Ronnie said it all, being able to do what you love up to the end was a blessing. Sounds like he was the "salt of the Earth" kinda guy. The lesson I take away from this is how to persevere through the adversity forced on you by the poorly built grain bin storage site. I'm now one of the thousands of viewers who get the same gut punch feeling when you describe all the hassles put upon you by the shoddy work they did. It shows a lot of class on the part of you and your family how you're navigating it on your channel! Im confident it'll be made right in your favor one day. It would have been in the contractor's best interest to accept they were wrong and went about fixing it. Im certain your local neighbors know who they are and will never work with them. Stay safe during harvest. Bean harvest starting in Central Indiana. Great channel.
RIP Ronnie. Sending prayers to all of his family and friends. May you all have a safe harvest season. Please be careful. That bin site makes me nervous. Manu blessings to you all.
I watch yours and Coles videos. It doesn't matter how much any one makes. I pray that your family prevails over the law suite. It's not easy to farm as much as you do. The man upstairs only determines what is your worth. It is definitely hard to see your money going to waste for someone's mistake of building the grain site, an not inspecting the over site of the project every day. They need to be held responsible.
Hi DC, thanks for sharing your frustrating adventures with the bin site. Your positive attitude on the videos shows us the great Dad and leader you are. Please feel encouraged. Enjoy your Sunday!
Enjoy seeing how you guys out in Iowa do things. I've been watching Cole now for about 5 years and you and Cooper since you stated your channels. I've been in agriculture all my life (with the exception of my military service). I would not trade it for any other life style. Hope you soon get that law suit settled and the problems resolved around the bin site.
So sad about Ronnie passing, and I agree, he was doing what he loved, it’s a frustrating thing about the bin sight issues, I can’t imagine how disappointing that must be !
RIP Ronnie. I'm from the same cloth. They'll have to pry my cold dead fingers from the wheel. Getting up there in age myself but after 32 years of driving I can't see myself wanting to do anything else. Man that bin sight ticks me off and I'm not the one having to deal with it. Shoddy work. I hope you prevail against them and they can never build another bin sight when you're done.
If you could go back to the beginning of the bin build I said over and over, keep Cole out of that project. You are right, if you are going to build a bin site, this is the best example of how not to do it.
As a mechanic, in my family business, purchase banded belts(2 vee belts made as one set). I use that in a 60 hp wood grinder…6 vees in one belt. Makes set last longer 2-3-4 times the life
I sure feel for you guys on that bin site. I hope it all works out in your favor. Seems like some will say anything to get the job and leave you with empty promises.
DC I'm really sorry about the bin sight. I've watched other RUclips channels that have put up new bins and they are fine. I hope justice is served on your bin constructors.
I can only imagine your disappointment on this bin site. Something so large you want to feel safe around,. I pray you get it resolved so that burden can be lifted. Stay safe
Not sure why the lawsuit is taking so long. I know these take time, but two plus years to get this thing pushed through is something else. The concrete was so bad on this job I'd ask the court for a total tear down and rebuild with a new contractor.
Sorry to hear about Ronny i am sure your family was a part of his family, He served your farm well, May God bless him and all his family and the corn star family as well
RIP Ronnie, we should all live so well. I never thought a bin complex that size would basically be a crime scene. Perhaps vinyl membrane over the hopper bottom and something like a building structure over the pit that trucks drive through, an expense trying to cut the economy of effort you are having to do. Maybe that could incorporate safety of access and operation. The pit ladder issue is terrible. Were there any workers on that that didn't...... suck??
Put 3 or 4 groove pulleys and matched belts on that unloader, or any other place you are burning belts and your burning belt problems will be over. Any of those hard to get bearings should have grease bank lines for easier access. Make your life easier and safer to spend more time with them grand babies.
A lean to would be a great idea! Maybe even a lean too over the ends of the pit and center of the pit, cut out a spot around the spout so the beans can come through to load semis and seal up around it. That could help keep the pit dryer and you may be able to add some vents to the plate and the roof will keep the water out?
Get an electric servo for the gate on the bottom of the over head bin .problem solved no climbing no getting cold or any dust .Use cameras to fill the trucks they do it every where , simple fix and not expensive at all.
That's great. Good job. My husband did that with one of our fans. It was just dirty. It started to work, too. Love it when we don't have to buy a new one.
I'm so sorry Ronnie has gone. He always seemed like part of the family. He's in so many videos. He will be missed. Prayers to his family and all who loved him.
Sorry to hear about Ronny’s passing. I keep praying y’all with that bin site. I’ve noticed that it seems like lawsuits take around 5 years to get settled or get to court. Especially when one party knows they are wrong and going to have to pay.
Two sides to every story. When this is all settled will we get an updated on the bin deal? Could any preventative steps have been done so you had less problems?
Would a soft start on the auger motor help with the belt wear issue? seems that the burnt belt is from the motor spinning up before the auger can start turning, I am only guessing that there is a reduction gear box between the motor and the auger, so if the motor speed would ramp up a bit slower it may solve the burnt belt. Sorry to hear about Ronnie the truck driver, Hope that the Grain Bin Issue is resolved and will be corrected soon.
I’m so sorry to hear Ronnie passed on. Sending your family and his family peace and comfort. As far as beans go, we’re experiencing the same thing with green stems and dry pods. I’m in Missouri.
I agree, from the dirt up considering there wasn't any soil compaction or tests done. No way new concrete like this should have broken so fast unless it was a "short bag' mix. I hope AGI is still a solvent company so when CS FARMS gets the huge judgement after winning the suit, AGI doesn't just laugh and file for bankruptcy.
I always get a little nervous when I see you working around that bin site. I guess at some point there won't be anything left up high to fall down on your head. That means it's getting a little safer every day. 😏😉👍
Need an auto-tensioner on the pit auger belts if there is none. A pulley on an arm with a decently tough spring would do well. Also does the cement around the pit have an angle on it so shed water away from the pit? If not then grinding it a bit or adding a lip to the metal part of the pit would help probably.
Sorry to hear about Ronnie, I'm a trucker to but I won't pull a hopper bottom. Tell Cole that he is responsible for paying off the storage setup, mite need to put a heater down there on those belts, and a cheap tin shed drive thru dumpsump.
RIP Ronnie. May you Rest in Eternal Peace.

Ronnie R. was blessed to buy his grandfather's home place. He was hardworking. Very nice video neighbor.

Prayers to Ronnie's family
Hope the bin site stays together another season
Condolences on the passing of your friend Ronnie. Prayer and best wishes for a successful and safe harvest. Enjoy! 🌽🌽
Put a vfd on that pit motor so u can ramp up , instead of full speed at start up👍

For the belts on the pit, put notched torque belts on instead. They will run in moisture, problem solved. Sorry about the bin site. What a cluster
Sorry To hear about

I just love you guys I watch all of the Cornstar family! So sorry for your loss of Ronnie.

DC, you are such a good guy. Ronnie loved you all as much as you loved him. Your little eulogy for him was perfect.

Two sides to every story. When this is all settled will we get an updated on the bin deal? Could any preventative steps have been done so you had less problems?
Your editing is so smooth, appreciated it!
That’s to Summer

Prayers to Ronnie's family, so glad harvest season has begun best of luck looking forward to the greatest harvest yet.
Hope the bin issues are solved.soon. Seems like a COMPLETE rebuild may be the answer.
If the the contractor doesn't go out business first! This has been a clown show that never was funny.

R.I.P ronnie!! Our days are numbered
RIP Ronnie. I hope you don't have to wait much longer for the debacle of the bin site to be fixed. What a pain!!
Sorry for your loss, RIP Ronnie!
I always get a little nervous when I see you working around that bin site.
I guess at some point there won't be anything left up high to fall down on your head.
That means it's getting a little safer every day. 😏😉👍
I enjoy listening to you. You have a nice family. I am just a couple decades older than you. So, appreciate your life while you can.
I like your "Perfect Day" attitude! It's good to look on the bright side and find some good things among the not so good!
Ronnie was the best. Our community will sure miss him this fall. I know i will.

One thing of your family's videos we have learned that the more you have helping you with a project is light work for all
So sorry for Ronnie’s passing. Rest in peace friend ❤
