INFJ. Chemist. Customer focused. Solutions driven. Early on tested as INTJ in online quizzes. Later in life as INFJ, which I truly identify with now. Was surprised at the risk taking one, but (as I tell my more ES friends) pretty easy to wing it when you have a back up plan to your back up plan, and know the key data points to note (like where is the restroom or is this something that could really negatively impact life or just an inconvenience if things go wrong). This one likely is more related to experience. INTJ tendencies helped early in career to get down the basics, but INFJ skills help the creative scientist side and building relationships which are more important in management. I believe I analyze like an INTJ first then go with the INFJ gut for decision making. As long as I collect the data first, the decision is often obvious. If data was collected and analyzed, but gut says otherwise, I go with gut. It gets data not always quantifiable by a more logical approach.
Type actually doesn’t change with age, it’s a temperament that is consistent throughout life. But over time as an individual works on weaknesses and develops their strengths, it may seem like they changed type but what actually happened was a maturing or growth process. I like to tell older people who get into MBTI is to answer the test as if you were in you’re 20’s since that will be where you have developed to the point of a full expression of your raw self (being that you’re strengths will be clearly seen and weaknesses, for most people). I’m a INTJ who has worked on social skills so a random observer may think I have Fe, but I only choose to express myself this way at times to be more effective in my interactions, but everyone can do everything (type is just your default setting that if you’re not putting effort to act a certain way you will revert back to)
simple to differentiate. just ask yourself if you make decisions according to rationality and logics and facts or emotions and feelings of others. the former is intj and the latter is infj
if you are always confused or care about other people's emotions, you are an infj for sure. if you are not really bothered by the other people's feelings and vastly care about your own feelings, you are an intj
Lately as I watch more videos, I feel like I have a “Jekyll and Hyde” thing going on with INTJ and INFJ because while I identify as an INTJ and every version of the MBTI I’ve taken has confirmed it… I’m also a psychology student getting his masters who, in his spare time, loves to write. 😂.
It's not a Jekyll/Hyde thing. Just because you don't perfectly fit the stereotypical traits, doesn't mean you're not an INTJ. INxJs can be a creative and empathetic people. There's the INTJ people read about in textbooks, the inaccurate caricature people swear by online (i.e. INTJs are villians, emotionless robots, and only love science), and then there's the "real world" INTJ. Even if you put 10 INTJs in a room, they will have their differences. The INTJ who grew up in a house full of F-types will look a little different from the one that grew up with T-types. The INTJ in their 20s isn't going to resemble the 30 - and 40-year-old INTJs because the latter will demonstrate more balance between cognitive functions. So don't fall for the hype. Prove to yourself if you're an INTJ or INFJ by understanding how you use your cognitive functions. ✌🏽
Tested as INFJ in high school and consistently INTJ after college. I believe my cultural and social pressures were the culprit. Who knows... but I'm a social worker and project/ change management consultant
INTJ here. At least two of the INFJs I've met were both Catholic priests, and I think the profession suits them well. (Also, they are such idealists that they won't find soulmates in mere mortals.) Anyways, i myself work in STEM field, as is typical of an INTJ. I find INFJs to be intelligent, deep and philosophical. INTJs like myself tends to think that everyone else is dumber than me, but INFJs have my respect. I think INTJs like myself are quite simple, especially when it comes to our feelings. INTJs have complex minds, but rather simple feelings. But INFJs - boy, they are so (too) sensitive! I also have observed that INFJs can read people as if they have psychic power, even though they typically wear poker face and reveal very little about themselves. INTJs loathe to reveal personal things, but our facial expressions unfortunately betray everything. If I don't like you, I won't necessarily tell you, but you'll know. With INFJs, you won't really know where you stand with them. (In that way, they're kinda "fake") INTJs and INFJs are both perfectionists. I'd say, INFJs are idealists. I have always been fascinated by INFJ people. They are mysterious folks. They are quiet, but draw people to themselves. Us INTJs tend to unintentionally drive people away. INTJs like myself inadvertently blurt out something insensitive and end up never hearing again from INFJs
INFJ female here. I indeed tend to focus on the emotional side of things, but my choices/decisions all comes from understanding a little bit about human nature/psychology (empathy/sympathy vs. toxic behaviors) + logic/science (analyzed facts and data).🤔 So, it is emotional and logical at the same time. I can be compassionate, but I would never advocate for toxic behaviors…🤔 #SincereBoundaries
Life as an INxJ can be quite interesting. My T/F category never swings more than 55% one way or the other when I take the tests. It's almost day-day whether I'm an INFJ or INTJ.
It's complicated talking about subjectivity for INFJs when they base their decisions on the collective emotions, which isn't really subjective in the end. They're not basing their decisions on a subjective view but rather on an emotionally objective one. So they're as objective in that sense. 2:00 INTJs also rely on intuition cause it's influenced by their introverted intuition as well. So for problem solving, INFJs rely more on emotions and *principles* . But both rely on intuition.
I’ve taken multiple tests and always get the results of INTJ or INFJ. I can relate to both. I am very rational and avoid dealing with my own emotions, but am very sensitive to the emotions of people around me. I make logical decisions, but sometimes I have avoided making a decision or have made one based on how it would make someone else feel. I have a feeling I’m more INFJ than INTJ, but don’t agree with the extroverted emotion thing. I mean, I’ve heard people say it’s written on my face🤣but I actively resist outwardly emitting emotions?! When I can. Just makes me uncomfortable unless I really know the people around me. But the judging people’s motives, high emotional intelligence thing? Definitely me. I’m constantly analyzing why people do the things they do and have been told on more than one occasion that my instincts were right about a person. Maybe it comes down to that? Instinct vs facts? In any case, I think being a criminal profiler would be a fascinating job!
Got here because in the past years, whenever I take MBTI test the result is either INFJ or INTJ. Most recent result is INTJ. There are situations where I fit in INTJ and other times in INFJ. I guess I have both.
INTJ with fresh INFJ boss... funny thing happened when I let my beard grow for "men`s health" november and with my messy hair it made me look a bit dishelved.. boss suddenly seemed much happer and talkative like he needed to cheer me up as an enjoyable side project (initiate moral boost; target depressed mastermind / execute) 😂 I wonder if his happy level is the inverse of the department`s general level sometimes. And meanwhile the ENTP despairs over the decline in technical talk,,,
I think they're actually very very similar, except INTJs tend to be more regimented in everything and INTJs wear "personas", or masks, in public settings. INTPs don't bother to.

As a Data Analyst , somehow I’m both . Did test couple times , I will either get INTJ or INFJ
Same 😭 I’ll never figure out what I am
