Glad you enjoyed it! I know I, for one, will be following her in the competition. I hope it helps her gain more recognition around the world. The competition format is a bit complicated, but each week the lowest voted singer is eliminated and a new one brought in and they all start from scratch - I think 7 singers each week. 12 shows. So if she does well, there may be 12 songs from her. The only other foreign singer in the competition this year is Chante Moore, from the US. She finished first and Faouzia finished second the first week. And yes, all professional singers. The foreign singers are there by invite.

The original show only lasted for 4 seasons back in South Korea.
Hunan TV and its streaming unit MangoTV, one of China’s most watched satellite broadcasters, has been the first foreign franchisee - and its LONGEST RUNNING ever since its debut there in 2013.
One big difference with the original Korean show is the franchise invite foreign singers to participate as a means of promoting exchanges
