    Seriously thanks for your reviews. I've recently bought the IO9 and it is crazy brilliant. It was reduced over here and also gave away a travel pack and 2 toothpastes. I have an old Braun hanging around and it very noisy. Also the old version does not hold a charge. This is brilliant.

      I use one of the genius models and am sufficiently happy that I’ll be sticking with that.
      On the IO 9 I’m surprised the travel case doesn’t include an extra battery for recharging while on a trip?
      Having the brushing location and time tracking is helpful even though I know how to brush and know how to count. But has the location accuracy improved noticeably over the previous Genius line?
      Finally, the Top of the Genius line offers:
      1. Location tracking and timer.
      2. More brushing modes than I need or use.
      3. Pressure sensing
      4. Ability to use the less expensive brush-heads and other compatible brush heads.
      Also shared (or better) on my genius:
      - no extra battery in the travel case
      - presumably similar battery degradation

    This toothbrush is INCREDIBLE! I had a “sonicare” style toothbrush. I truly thought it was the best…. This toothbrush is worth every penny. My teeth feel clean, it corrects you to brush the very bottom gum line of your lower teeth. The tracking is actually REALLY Accurate as of 12/1/22. Very impressed. Very happy. Complaints? I’m concerned about the mechanics getting corroded/dirty

    When going from the 2 minute (plus) teeth brushing to tongue cleaning you dont get to see the 20 seconds counting on your phone unless you press the mode button to go to Tongue Clean without turning the brush power off. Its a bit messy as the display is often covered with saliva and toothpaste. Overall though a very good brush.

    Why does the inside of the brush head get wet and consequently you get a build up of moisture in the crevices where the brush head attaches.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Год назад +4

      Because there are holes in the head that allow the water/moisture in.
      It is important to rinse the head after use thoroughly.
      Why the holes exist is a bit of a mystery. We are actually working on a video about this soon.

    The main drawback of the io9 is lack of battery info. I end up with the brush battery dead while cleaning or not being able to start brushing. The battery status is shown only when you finish brushing and wait something like 30 secs looking at it while the happy/sad emoji goes away. You can’t check the battery at any other point and even if you use the app you have to shake the brush to get connected….

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Год назад +1

      Ultimately they do a very similar job and in the real world, it's hard to tell or notice any meaningful difference.
      It's more important to pick on and use it than worrying too much between them.
      The clinical data would suggest Oral-B is better, marginally. But even the researches say more study is needed.
      If it helps, I personally tend to prefer the Oral-B brushing action. But my main toothbrush is now a sonic toothbrush (like Philips Sonicare).

      The iO heads are only compatible with iO models. They don't fit to Oral-B pro, vitality, smart, Genius models etc.
      Those brushes use a different brush head, which is typically 2x cheaper.
      The heads just pull on and pull off.

    Is there a significant difference in how quiet/gentle the iO 9 is compared to older lines like the Genius or Smart brushes? My husband has a Smart Limited (I think it’s basically the Genius 6 rebranded) but I find it pretty loud and intense even on sensitive and gum care mode (not sure which of these is more gentle). I have sensitive teeth and very fragile gums so I’m wondering if the iO series would be a better option for me?
    It’s silly but I just like how the Genius lines look (like the rose gold) but I just keep wondering if the new motor style would work better for me and am worried I wouldn’t be able to get used to the older motor.

    • @ElectricTeeth

      There is a difference, but I wouldn't really class it as significant. Whilst the iO series will be slightly softer and quieter, it isn't a day and night difference between them.

    Really bad quality batteries in there and brushing sensor is not accurate on io 9. Buy a cheaper one. I went from io 9 to io 7. I recommend io 7.

    How do I shut off the toothbrush? Is it automatically shut off when not used?

      No, you need to press the power button to turn it off. It won't turn itself off.

    For some reason I was able to connect to my phone only when I sat it up. After that it asks me to shake the brush but it doesn't connect at all. Any suggestions?

      Possibly reset the toothbrush and try to start the process again. There are lots of variables here including the phone type, software updates etc.
